The alarm of the ship, wouldn't stop it's obnoxious beeping and Wanda was getting highly irritated.
She walked over to the source of the alarm, finding Rey trying to fix a blown pipe. Finn and Rey were yelling at each other, making the situation even more insufferable.
Wanda had had enough. "What the hell is going on?"
Rey averted her gaze away from Finn and to Wanda. "If we don't patch the pipe up, the ship will be flooded with poisonous gas," Rey explained to Wanda as she did Finn seconds ago.
Wanda sighed, "Hold on." She wiggled her fingers, capturing the gas in her powers, delaying the spreading of it all.
Rey looked stunned once again. "Yeah, that's great. Um, keep that up." Her eyes lingered, but soon she got back to working on the pipe.
The conversation between Finn and Rey ensued as Finn asked, "Hey, Rey, you're a pilot. You can fly anywhere. Why go back," he stopped himself. "You got a family? You got a boyfriend? Cute boyfriend?"
Wanda rolled her eyes. Leave it to Finn to ask a question like that at a time like this.
"None of your business that's why," came Rey's sassy remark.
The gas had disappeared at this point and Wanda let her hands fall.
All of their attentions were forced to the light of the ship darkening suddenly.
"That can't be good," Finn stated obviously.
"No kidding."
"No it can't be." Wanda and Rey said in a synchronized manner—Wanda's response being a bit more sarcastic.
The three of them rushed to the cockpit. Finn and Rey sat in the pilots seats while Wanda stood behind them, each of her arms on each of their seats.
Rey tried flipping switches, but nothing seemed to happen. "Someone's locked onto us. All controls are overridden."
Finn looked around worried, beginning to stand up on his chair, using Rey's head for support.
"Get off! Get off!" Rey shoed away his hand.
Wanda just breathed out, pinching the bridge of her nose.
"Oh, no." She heard Finn breathe out. "It's the First Order."
Finn sat down, and Wanda cursed under her breath. She just wanted a damn break.
"What do we do? There must be something." Rey panicked.
Finn contemplated an idea, but Wanda beat him to it. "The pipe, we can unfix the pipe and I can spread the gas throughout the ship."
Rey and Finn looked at Wanda, going over what she had said in their heads.
It was the best they had, so they went along with it.
They ran to the area of the broken but now fixed pipe. "I can undo the fixings of the pipe, I just need you to diffuse it," Rey said towards Wanda.
Wanda gave a nod back. Rey removed part of the flooring panel which allowed access to the pipes. They hopped down into the lower level of the piping, BB-8 landing harshly on Finn causing him to yelp.
"I'm okay. BB-8 get off me." BB-8 just beeped back at Finn in return.
"Do you think this will work on the stormtroopers?" Rey questioned Finn.
"Yeah. Their masks filter out smoke, not toxins." Finn peaked out through the flooring which they had put back above them. "Hurry up!"
Wanda frowned, "She's trying."
Finn impulsively shut the lid above them as he heard foot steps getting near.
In the time that whoever boarded the ship started inspecting it, Finn, Rey, and Wanda put gas masks on.
Unfortunately for them, though, as Rey was working on the pipe, one of her working utensils dropped.
Before they knew it, the lid of the flooring above them was picked up, revealing them.
They all looked up to see a big furry thing, and an older looking man. Wanda prepared herself for any defense she would have to put up.
The man pointed his gun at them, "Where are the others? Where's the pilot?"
"I'm the pilot," Rey said quickly.
"You?"
The big furry brown thing just growled, almost making a wailing sort of noise.
"No it's true, we're the only ones on board," Rey said in return to the thing the man called "Chewie."
This was getting all too weird and out of the ordinary for Wanda.
Finn looked confused, "You can understand that thing?"
"And 'that thing' can understand you too, so watch it." The man jerked his head. "Come on out of there."
They climbed out of the flooring, Wanda lifting up BB-8 who was heavier than he looked. Now she knew what Finn was yelling about.
As the man questioned Rey about the ship, Wanda observed the big "Chewie" animal. Or creature.
She squinted her eyes, giving him an interested look. She was intrigued by this so called "Chewie." He was cute in a way, but towered over her 5'5" frame.
"What are you?" She whispered to herself, back where she came from in her world, they didn't have these creatures.
Her question didn't seem to go unnoticed, though, as he growled at her. But it wasn't an offensive sort of growl that came off as intimidating, is was one of a friendly sort of greeting in a way.
Wanda smiled, staying with the tall creature as she noticed Finn, Rey, and BB-8 wander off with the man.
Any interaction that Wanda was about to start with Chewie came to a stop as there was another sound coming from outside the ship.
Wanda heard Finn yell, "Did you just say Rathtars?"
Rathtars? "What is a Rathtar?" Wanda questioned Chewie, getting a distraught wail from the creature in response, signaling they meant no good.
The group ran to nearby camera monitors outside the ship. Wanda stuck with Chewie, there was something about him that she just became fond of, she couldn't place it.
"Oh, great. It's the Guavian Death Gang. Must have tracked us from Nantoon."
"What's a Rathtar?" Rey asked the same question as Wanda, only this time there was a worded response.
"They're big and they're dangerous," the old man said. Wanda needed to learn his name.
Finn started mumbling to Rey about some "Trillia Massacre."
They were now back on the ship, following behind the senior of the group.
The man stopped, opening a compartment in the flooring. "Get below and stay there until I say so," he instructed to Finn, Rey, and Wanda. "And don't even think about taking the Falcon."
"What about BB-8?" Rey wondered.
"He stays with me until I get rid of the gang then you can have him back and be on your way," the man said carelessly, waving his hand.
"What about the Rathtars? Where're you keepin' em'?"
There was a loud thudding behind Rey, Finn, and Wanda, causing them to turn in fright, spotting a giant eye looking straight at them through the glass of the window.
Wanda's eye widened. Another new creature, they seemed to just be popping out of thin air at this point.
"What are you gonna do?" Rey asked the man as they all started climbing into the level below them.
"Same thing I always do: talk my way out of it."
Wanda scoffed at the same time Chewie seemed to give a similar reaction.
"Yes I do. Every time," he pointed at Chewie in a matter-of-fact tone.
Wanda, Finn, and Rey were now settled in the flooring level below, shutting the compartment door above them.
Wanda just hoped this situation wouldn't turn out like every other one has, producing more and more problems. And of course, she was wrong.
