"Yes"♥︎

Dedicated to a special friend, for you, Krish.

Eleanor

I could sense the tension in the room. The lunch break was going on and the three of us were sitting together in the little table which had been placed in the corner of the cafeteria.

"Will Dan come?", Meg asked Joe.

"I don't really know, let's just wait for some more time.", he replied.

I decided not to comment on anything involving Dan.

Dan walked in the cafeteria ten minutes after Meg and Joe had their conversation.

"Were you out with that blondie last night, Dan?", Alesha questioned Dan with fury written all over her face.

"Yes and I'm sorry about it, I just needed someone to hang out with.", Dan replied nonchalantly.

"Don't be sorry. I should be the one saying sorry. It's my fault, people like you should never be trusted. We are over. Goodbye.", Alesha spat the words out, almost in tears.

Dan did not say anything, he didn't even try stopping her.

He walked towards our little table as everyone in the cafeteria stared at him for they witnessed the breakup between the two most popular people in school.

He pulled out the chair near Meg and helped himself in.

I was surprised that he even came, but, decided to keep quiet as I did not want to upset him.

An awkward silence was followed by Joe taking a deep breath, ready to say something to all of us. As he was ready to begin, I saw Dan looking at me with the corner of my eye. His look clearly explained how much hatred he had for me. I will never know what I had done, and when I was finally beginning to move on with my life, I'm forced to sit near a person from my past.

Joe began, "So friends.... Well, acquaintances or whatever we are now, yes, I had known everything about this letter. In fact, I had helped grandmother write the letter and post it to you all separately. But you all have to trust me, this is jot something I'm asking you to do out of some false hope of us restoring our friendship. Grandmother really wants all of us together, at least once. And, she has something really important to tell all of you. I already know what it is but she insists on telling it to you all herself. Can we push our differences aside just for once? I really want grandma happy. Well, it's up to all of you anyway."

We were silent for a while and then I heard my voice say, " Joe, I'm in."

"And so am I, Joe", Meg spoke next.

We all turned to face Dan waiting for his reply.

He kept changing his facial expressions, and then our eyes met. I dropped my gaze, I could sense him doing the same thing.

He finally ended the suspense he was keeping us in.

"Well, it's about grandma, so, yes. I'm in."

I heard Joe let out a sigh of relief. Meg smiled but stopped as soon as he turned to face her. It came off as a surprise because Meg is the only friend Dan still has. I and Joe had been abandoned long ago.

Dan pushed his chair and walked off without saying a word to any of us, but nonetheless, all of us smiled.

"So, let's plan out the trip, when do we leave for grandmomma's place?", Meg started planning it all out already.

This energy Meg carried with her always left me amazed.

"El, do you want to join us in planning?", Joe asked.

"I'd love to but I've got a class now, have to go. See you later guys, bye." I said.

"Bye!", they unanimously shouted.

I hurried back to the class and before I knew it, my face almost crashed with the floor. I looked up to see a pair of perfectly tanned hands holding me.

"Thank you.", I said.

"Not a problem, love.", he replied with a wink.

I was greeted with a very beautiful face when I looked up.

"Alan, Alan Rodgers.", he held his hand out for me to shake.

"Eleanor Andrews."

"See you around, pretty lady.", he said and walked away.

And I snapped out of my thoughts, hurrying back to my class again.

A/N: Who can Alan possibly be? Read on to find out.
