"What are the perks of studying in RCHS?"

"Meeting Dan Sanders", would come the reply.

Dan Sanders, the heartthrob of RCHS, was undoubtedly the most popular boy in town. The captain of the school basketball team, his quietness often resulted with his lovely hazel eyes speaking a language so mysterious. His lips would form a slight smirk every time something ended in his favour, and his smile had always been talked of more than Dan himself.

Underneath all his attractiveness and appealing charms, hid a troubled soul waiting for answers to questions he had never asked.

Her name angered him; everything relating to her had been erased from his life. He wanted to forget her the way he'd forget his grades in a math test. He could not wait to graduate from High school and move some place far from her. Her memories were so fresh in his mind, just like it was on her mind. But even looking back at those memories seemed meaningless to him now.

"Trust is what keeps us together, Dannie ", she had once told him.

He clenched his fists at the thought of her words. And then it happened, he saw her again. The same pale look on her face, the same emotionless eyes. He had created a monster inside him, the monster was supposed to hate her. But how could he?

She had been the best friend he never had.

And also, the best friend he never wants to have, ever again.

At the same time, he could not let any of his friends replace her position in his heart.

And the events started playing on his mind, all over again.

And the same unanswered questions followed.
