"Wait- you're Ghostly, as in Captain Ghostly? The one who bravely took down a sea serpent and a dragon?" Phoenix asked. The other cat spoke with hesitance. "Yes." He nodded. 

Phoenix was now extremely excited. "That's awesome! I can't describe in words how much meeting you means to me. If only my brother were here." Phoenix added the last bit quietly. "How so? I didst nought of great importance. 'I fact, one might say didst moe wrong than good." Captain Ghostly asked. "We were really big into pirates and you were the coolest one! You did so many brave things, and because of you, altered the way our life turned out!" Phoenix answered.

"Because of you gathering dragon's blood, I ended up like this." She mentally added. She shook off the thought. Captain Ghostly stayed silent. Phoenix could feel water start splattering onto her tail. Captain Ghostly seemed to realize it too and fixed his wing, getting it back in its original position.

"I be glad thou regard so highly of me, however things art not as they seem. Slaying of the dragon resulted 'I me becoming the monster I am." He mumbled. "Captain Ghostly-" "Thou may speak to me Ghostly, I never require formalities." The captain corrected. Phoenix nodded. "Ghostly, you're no monster." Phoenix firmly spoke.

"Hast thou seen me? Not only doth I hast wings of that beast, yet I am all bloodied from mine mistakes of after slaying the dragon." Ghostly stated. "So? I also have wings from dragon blood, and your blood doesn't seem monstrous!" Phoenix huffed. Ghostly chuckled. 

"Thou art too nice, yet alas, I wot that I am a monster and thou canst not talk me out of it." He sighed. Phoenix shook her head. "Then we'll be monsters together. You can't talk me out of it either!" She held back a laugh as she tried to seem determined. Ghostly smiled and gently shoved Phoenix.

"Some one like thou could ne'r be a monster. Yet alright, if thou desire to be a monster with me, then hie ahead." Ghostly smiled. Phoenix grinned. "Same could go for you!" She smiled. Phoenix enjoyed the fact that they got along. It was much nicer than the time she spent with her parents.

It was noticeably colder now. "I suppose I have to go now. It was nice meeting you, Ghostly!" Phoenix exclaimed. "Like thee. May thou please visit? It gets lonely hither." Ghostly asked. Phoenix nodded. "Of course! I'll likely be visiting here often anyways. Bye!" Phoenix called as she walked out into the rain. She didn't hear Ghostly say anything back as the rain started to get heavier and as the stinging got more noticable.

Phoenix let her paws carry her under a bridge. It was a good spot for her as long as the area didn't flood. There used to be an old river which certainly made it more likely to flood. Phoenix hopped into a box and curled up. The box caught on fire, which led Phoenix to finding a metal tunnel to sleep in. She recalled the memories of her brother, and the conversation with Ghostly.

In all truth, Phoenix had no idea what to think of the recent events.
