Once I walk into my room, I close the door behind me. A giant smile comes to my face along with butterflies erupting in my stomach as I lean my back against the door.
Stupid Brendan. I hate him for making me feel this way, but I love just the feeling itself.
Now all I have to do is wait for him to text me, but I'm sure it'll be a few days before I hear anything from him.
I take off my shoes and walk over to my bed, lying down to process everything that has happened in the past day or two. I glance at my calendar that hangs directly above the side of my bed.
First classes start on Monday and I couldn't be more upset at their timing. How would I be able to deal with a possible boyfriend and classes at the same time?
Of course there must be some type of balance, but it still isn't known to mankind. You either have a social life or you do well in your classes. That's just the way it is.
But classes come first... Always.
My mind drifts to Brendan's smile, his soft lips pressing to my cheek.
No.
I cannot be distracted by him. I will not be distracted by him.
After debating on multiple situations, I decide to cut off all communication from him for at least a few days, just to keep my mind together. I need to get into studying and preparing for my exams, no matter how early I start.
Trying to take my mind off the situation, I close my eyes and let myself drift to sleep.
•Brendan's POV•
"I'm guessing things went well with Victoria today." Alex smirks at me as he drives us to the bar.
"How do you know that?" I ask.
"I can see it all over your face." He turns around a corner.
I smile to myself, thinking of her. When could I see her again? When's the right time to talk to her? I just want to see her again. Be in her presence.
"Well, if you must know... Things did actually go well." I say. "Better than I had expected them to."
"Did you think you weren't going to like her?" He asks me as he parks the car.
"I mean, I did, but I didn't know that I would like her this much." I sigh. "Not this soon, at least."
He chuckles and smirks at me. "When are you gonna call her again?"
"I have no idea." I look over at him. "When do you think I should?"
"Hm," He furrows his eyebrows together. "I think you should wait for her to text you."
"Doesn't the guy usually text first, you know, after a first date?"
"That crap doesn't matter." He mutters. "Come on, let's get your mind off of it for awhile." He gets outside the car and we walk into the bar.

"Alex!" I yell from my bed. He continues to type on his phone, completely ignoring me for the third time.
I grab my pillow and throw it at his face, his phone dropping from his hand.
"What the hell?" He screams.
"Your crap plan isn't working!" I complain. "She hasn't texted me in a week!"
"Who?" He questions.
I almost believe that he doesn't remember until he smirks at me.
"Stop, it's not funny!" I close my eyes and sigh. "What do I do?"
"Call her?" He asks as if it's the simplest thing in the world.
"Maybe she doesn't like me?"
"I doubt it." He explains. "If she didn't like you then you would have definitely noticed."
I think for a bit and decide to call her. I pick up my phone and go into the hallway.
I find her name and call her, and I immediately hear the ringing through my ear. Then another ring. Another. And another. The line goes dead.
