Ever had something happen that was beyond your control?

Wasn't planned, wasn't prepared for, wasn't part of life's protocol,

Sometimes things occur that we just don't expect,

And occasionally they have a devastating, unfair affect.

Then sometimes, out of the blue,

Stubborn rationality hits you.

They say "there's a reason for everything" is the cliché,

But it's that advice we should heed, instead of descending into disarray.

Life's events are inevitable,

Some are natural and some are ultimately unstoppable,

That's why, unless it's robbery or assault,

Where clearly and most shamefully it's someone's fault,

I try not to prosecute, sue or blame,

Because sometimes the bearer of the responsibility has no name.
