Archie's POV

When Betty hung up the phone on me, I didn't think we could ever be the same again and that assumption was 100% right. Riverdale as we all knew it, would never be the same again. The next morning I woke up next to Veronica, we did say a word to each other last night when I came home. She turned to face me "Why her Archie, why did you have to kiss her again?" Veronica asked as she sat up in my bed.

"Ronnie it's more complicated than that. It was a spur of the moment thing..neither of us meant for it to happen. Betty was just so upset and I was there for her and it just happened. That's the only way to explain it." I said back to her.

"So you love her now right?" Veronica said back to me.

"Ronnie..." I said.

"No Archie....answer the question." She said as she got out of my bed and put her clothes back on. "I must be an idiot to think we stand a prayer. Well, Andrews...I hate to be the bearer of bad news..but Betty wants nothing to do with you now. I told her about that day at the cemetery, how could a person who loves her do that?" V said as she grabbed her purse and walked out of my room, slamming my door behind her. I didn't bother to chase after her...because she was right. I tried to call Betty again and when she didn't answer I decided the next best option was talking to her in person. No matter how difficult it was going to be to look her in the eye. I walked out the door and got in my car. I was on the way to the South Side when I saw a riot breaking out in front of the town hall building, there Betty and Jughead were.

"Betty?" I said as I got out of my car and walked up to the school. The entire Serpent gang was surrounding her. She looked different...vengeful...broken...hurt.

"Archie...well you're just in time." Betty smiled at me as she pulled out a can of spray paint and ran up to the door. Her and Jughead began to spray paint "Hermoine Lodge Resign" all over the front of the building. 

"What the hell are you guys doing!" I screamed.

"Something you didn't have the guts too." Jughead laughed as he finished his can of spray paint. Betty walked down from the steps as she finished off her can and stared at her work, smiling ear to ear. 

"We're taking back Riverdale Archie...the North Side is dead." Betty laughed as she took Jughead's hand. 

"We're living for dark betty." Cheryl and Toni cheered.

"What's next?" Sweet Pea asked.

"Let the games begin. The Ghoulies first, Penny and then Hiram. This is a warning we're coming for him." Betty said as Jughead looked at her and bit his lip. 

"Listen to my lady, we've got work to do." Jug said as Betty walked past me. I pulled her away from the pack..Jug didn't notice.

"What." She said looking at me.

"What are you doing Betty? This isn't you! What the fuck!" I yelled at her. She smiled at me and shook her head. 

"You don't know me at all Archie, just like I don't know you. Warn V...Hiram's going down tonight. It's time for the Serpents to serve up some justice don't you think." Betty laughed as Jughead walked over towards us. 

"Come on Betty." He said as he pulled her away.

"Betty someone is going to get hurt...you're acting crazy! Hiram is not a gang member he's a mobster! You're messing around in very dangerous territory!" I screamed as she walked away. 

"Arch...stop man...just stop. She needed you and you weren't there. Don't try to be the hero now." Jug said as he walked away. Something horrible was going to happen I just knew it. The problem with going up against Hiram was that he was always two steps ahead of anything you would do. I had a feeling he knew the Serpents were coming and was planning something truly horrific to throw them off long enough for Hiram to take over the rest of Riverdale and the Serpents right out of town.
