This is the first story I have ever published and I have put a lot of time and countless sleep-deprived hours into this god-forsaken book (and there are many more sleepless nights to come) so I only hope that even just a few people can enjoy this! <3

Trigger Warnings

There are a few (very few) mentions of suicide, alcoholism, death, emotional abuse (from the old, saggy, wrinkly fart (Odin)), transphobia, and homophobia.

I will mark if there are any trigger warnings in a chapter right at the beginning of it and will also mark where it starts and stops so that you can skip over that specific part easily if you would like.

Content Warnings

- The main character in this book is mute (physically unable to talk), they also have anxiety and OCD

- violence (I mean it's an avengers fic of course there is some)

- Odin just being a smelly butt face >:(

- swearing (nothing extremely excessive, but a fair amount)

Timeline

In general, I am going to be somewhat sticking to the original MCU timeline, but there will be some changes and it will also not be the main focus. So it's not like you have to know all the lore and every plot of all the movies and comics to understand anything, it more just acts as a baseline for me to work off of.

The main big difference is that I am basically moving the whole Avengers movie and the whole New York attack to about a year after Age of Ultron (Thor has already been working with the Avengers for a while). Also, Spider-Man Homecoming instead happened just a few months after Age of Ultron and Bucky also joined the avengers around this time as well. (The main reason for this is simply because I just really want Sam, Peter, Bucky, and Wanda in as soon as possible)(Pietro is still dead... sorry...)

Also, some things may just be completely different. For instance, without trying to spoil too much, Civil War just straight up doesn't happen because everyone actually acts like adults FOR ONCE and they have a nice long conversation and talk it out instead of getting all pissy and bitch slapping each other in a Walmart parking lot. (Although Zemo of course will still make an appearance because I absolutely adore that man- I will find a way to force him into this story if it is the last thing I do).

And most importantly, I also have to ability to cheat death (screw you marvel for killing all my favorite characters 🖕) so many people that die in the original MCU timeline will not be here because I am not that cruel (EDIT: so I may be slightly cruel.........)

Other important notes

I really like finding the perfect songs to match basically everything I do, plus, they can really help convey the mood (or just add to the dramatics). So that's why I am matching a song with every chapter. Sometimes I may match a specific song with a chapter because I feel like it fits it really well and helps set the atmosphere, sometimes because there is some really deep, cryptic, underlying meaning to the song choice, and sometimes because I just think 'ooh funky sounds make my brain wiggle and think of this chapter.' Either way, you'll never know which one it is, so just interpret it in any way that you like (no way is the wrong way to interpret it, just have fun).

There is a lot of lady Loki and gender-neutral/nonbinary Loki content in this!! Rejoice!! I feel like gender-fluid Loki never truly gets as much recognition as they deserve, so I am singlehandedly taking on the responsibility to provide the lady/nonbinary Loki content we all love!!

Loki's time is very often split between expressing feminine, neutral, and masculine (and obviously sometimes a mix of multiple)

so if you, for some reason, do not like this and are going to be disrespectful and rude about it, please kindly skedaddle :D

I just wanted to clarify that the line breaks " ⋅•⋅⊰∙∘☽༓☾∘∙⊱⋅•⋅ " are usually used as scene breaks or time skips, but I usually use them in the way that I imagine it would break to a different scene if it was played out. (or sometimes it's just for aesthetic purposes)

To hopefully avoid any confusion, I will tell you now that the first 7 chapters are basically just one massive flashback (but it's not like it is boring or slow, I personally think that they are very interesting if I say so myself :]. I just really wanted to write all the background information and story and I think it really helps instead of just briefly explaining it later.)

So basically, don't worry, there will be more Loki and Avengers content later... ;)

I will obviously mark when it is the present day, but hopefully, that is not confusing. Just hang in there with me, I promise I will make up for the lack of Loki content in the beginning.
