Chapter 19: MidSummer Festival
No One's POV
~(Somewhere deep in the Amazon Jungle) ~
WACK~! THUG
.
.
.
" *sigh* that should be the last of them."
The ravenet swept some nonexistent sweat from her forehead and readjusted her hat.
"I swear, it's just a piece of rock from 1000 BC, why do they have to send so many assassins for just this?"
Twelve men, all hired assassins and mercenary's, who's job was to kill and take the priceless artefact from the person who just recently just found it hidden within an unknown and ~ almost ~ forgotten temple.
Unlucky for them, that person they were hired to kill was Kaitlyn.
The ravenet patted the dust off herself and gave the assassins and tired sigh. She didn't have the heart to leave the unconscious men as they were. Knowing for a fact, that they are going to be killed or eaten if left to the wilds.
"It's surprising that they even made it this far in. I've got to give them credit for that at least."
A few minutes later, after the ravenet finished tying the men and piled them together, the sound of her phone could be heard.
-ing, Ring~!
"Where did I put that satchel again? ... Ah, there it is~!"
Ring, Ring~!
Scuffling around through her satchel, she drew up her phone and read the name on screen, before taking the call.
Ring, Ri-
"Yo~! What's up?"

"Kai-chan~! You have to come to the festival! Please~! The others all have other plans, and hardly anyone is coming! This will be the last day of summer vacation. Let's hang out and have some mindless fun!"
Koro was met with silence for roughly 5 tense seconds, waiting for the voice of his small fellow teacher's voice.
But shockingly the voice he heard wasn't his co-worker.
"Is this Koro-sensei?"
A deep male voice spoke.
Koro blinked, before proceeding to answer the one who picked up the phone.
"Yes, I am Koro-sensei. I'm sorry, but who is this?"
"My name is Drago, I'm the Little Ones Guardian. Kaitlyn is currently out at the moment. What's this about a festival?"
Koro tilted his head in thought.
'Kai-chan's Guardian? I think I remember her mentioning that she lives with her father. So this is them? Nufufu~! I could invite him too!'
"Yes! I called to see if Kai-chan would be able to come along to the festival, for the last day of summer vacation! You can come along too, if it's not a bother. The time is at 7 tonight~!"
On the other end, Koro heard the other hum.
"Yes... I believe I will. I'll be sure to bring the Little One too. She tell's me many things about you and your class. I'd like to properly meet you all, this time around."
"...This time around?"
But Koro's question was unheard or ignored.
"You need not worry, I know everything and can keep your existence a secret. I'll be seeing you tonight, Koro-sensei."
Click! Beep, beep, beep...
The man on the other side, hanged up from their end, leaving Koro to blink before giving his signature laugh.
"Nufufu~! Quite an interesting family Kai-chan's got. I can't wait to see them tonight~! Now, time to call Lovro-san~!"
...~...~...~...~...~...~...~...~...~...~...~...~...
A while later, another phone call was made.
Ring, Ring~!

"Yo~! What's Up?"
Dark blue eyes lit with mischief.
...~...~...~...~...~...~...~...~...~...~...~...~...
The day drifted by easily enough with the coming evening. The night was it's blue-black hue, but was anything but dark. Lights and the chatter of people filled the air in the midst of the midsummer festival.
People of all ages were present for this evening of festivities. All people, that which including the very much disguised Koro-sensei, who was well pleased when he saw the amount of invited students were bigger then he had first thought. Making him sigh in relief.
"A bigger turnout then expected. Excellent, excellent. If no one showed up, I might have offed myself."
"I guess we shouldn't have come then."
Kayano commented off handily, standing beside her teacher wearing a kimono for the nights occasion.
"But theirs still some missing."
Nagisa ~ Who was also close and standing beside the greenet ~ tilled his head at the comment his teacher made.
"Who do you mean sir?"
"Well, I invited Kai-chan and her father to the festival. I hoped to have seen them tonight."
'Kai-sensei's... Father?'
The two thought. Looking to each other, they were silently intrigue by this.
"It could just be they're running late... Kai-chan won't just leaving me hanging without calling, right? Right?"
They watched as their disguised teacher sulked away into the dark corners of his self-worthless mind.
"Now, now Koro-sensei. I'm sure Kai-sensei will show up sooner or later."
The greenette consoled him, with a smile. Leading her to miss ~ along with Koro and Nagisa ~ the approach of another.
"You are Koro-sensei, correct?"
The deep and knowing voice spooked the three, as they flinched, only slightly, before proceeding to turn. Upon gazing at the man ~ for only a man had a deep voice like that ~ the first thought that appeared within the two students heads were...
'It's Him!'
The two stepped back on high alert of the familiar man from those months ago.
Koro, not noticing his students tension or choosing to ignore it, observed the man before him that called his name.
'Tall, taller then Kurasuma. Tan skin. Casual clothes. Black hair with blue tips. Looks to be in his late twenties. A handsome man, that's for certain. But he gives off this... aura of power... Who is he?'
(If it isn't obvious, Koro never saw Drago that time the human Dragon crashed into their classroom after Kaitlyn disappeared. Found in Chapter 9.)
"That's me~!" The educator said with cheer after his quick observations of the other. "Do I know you?"
Beady eyes stared into Dark blues.
"You spoke with me on the phone."
His voice was the same, sounded the same, but their was some kind of hidden amusement in his speech.
"I'm the Little One's Guar—" he stopped and thought again, before a small smile graced his stern face, lightening his features. "I'm Kaitlyn's Father. My name is Drago."
To say Koro and the students were shocked was an understatement. But luckily for Koro, he didn't show his surprise as much as his students. In the end, Koro was Koro. He brightens at the fact and knowledge of the other man's identity.
'No way! He was Kai-sensei's DAD!'
Kayano and Nagisa were in disbelief at the revelation, ignoring Koro who was chatting with the blue hair-tipped man, before inquiring...
"Where is your Daughter, Drago-san?"
"She'll be here soon, the Litte One is just dragging her feet."
And soon enough there was a loud...
"Draaaagooooooo!!!!!"
...in the distance.
The called man smiled, and it was one of those amusement smiles, the kind that parents give off to their kids.
There, only a few feet away was...
"Kai-sensei?"
The young teacher, no longer had her signature fedora, hair style or her casual slacks and red vest.
But instead, the ravenet's hair was done up in a low bun, with two long strands on the sides, framing her face, a flower hair ornament added along too. And finally, the thing that shocked the teacher and students, was the fact...
...Kai-sensei was wearing a Kimono.
The said teacher didn't give her students much thought at the moment. Having acquired an irritated and pouty expression on her face because of her current ~ forced on ~ attire and hair style.
When done fiddling with her hair, the teacher gave her guardian father an annoyed glare.
"Why did I have to wear this!? You know I don't like these kimonos! They always hinder my walking."
As a response, the blue eyed man, pulled out a phone and snapped a pic.
Kaitlyn fumed.
"You're still grounded until sunrise. Don't think I forgot about Okinawa."
Dark blue eyes narrowed and Kaitlyn Cringed.
"Wow... Kai-sensei?"
The ravenet looked to her two students and smiled.
"Hey guys" she gave them a small wave "Sorry for coming late." She looked sheepish. "I just came back from some business today, and I don't walk so well in... this."
She gave her kimono a look of distain. Causing the students to giggle lightly, Koro and Drago just smirked or nufufu-ed.
"So yeah, it took me a while."
The three saw how her hand instinctively reached to the back of her head, but stopped after realising it'll undo the bun.
"I see that you already met Drago." She looked to Nagisa and Kayano "Sorry for not telling you about him earlier. People seem to react differently when they find out about him. Especially with his first impressions being quite... unique."
"What's that supposed to mean!?"
Protested the man, staring down at the raven. Kaitlyn raised a brow and a exasperated huff.
"Exactly how it sounds you old lizard!"
A Blue eye twitched.
"Oh, really now~"
And so, the father and daughter pair ended up arguing, doing wild gestures and speaking things that the others couldn't understand.
Heck, there was even a part in their argument where they switched languages.
Twice!
It was interesting the say the least for the students currently there.
The interaction between the two spoke of year of closeness and undeniable care. It calmed them of their suspicions and wariness of the intimidating man, placing them at ease.
It didn't take long before the two stopped ~ thanks to Koro-sensei who intervened.
With the two no longer going at each other, Koro had to mention food stalls, causing the family duo to perk up instantly. With one having an intense gaze and the other with a bright fire and sparks in their eyes.
And off the three of them went. Devouring food stall after food stall, leaving the blue and green haired teens to on their own devices.
Kai-Sensei Fact #15: Has a great appreciation for ~ junk ~ food.
But thanks to this, the food trio put food stalls out of stock in their food spree.
Kai-Sensei Fact #16: Despite small frame, can eat a lot.
A few stalls closed because of Drago's hard criticism. Which both Kaitlyn and Koro apologised constantly to the poor stand keepers ~ while Kaitlyn also gave her guardian a scolding.
It wasn't just food stalls that they visited, Kaitlyn participated in a few of the prize winning games ~ the shooting stall didn't have much, but she won a few stuffed animals, before getting kicked out when the owner noticed she was another person with unbelievable aim.
Kaitlyn snorted amusingly at the sign with the two top student shooters of Class-E.
Drago wasn't one for the type of games, and stood back to watch, and hold the ravenets prizes.
Eventually, they got around and saw all the other students from Class-E, with Kaitlyn introducing them to Drago, who had to be a pain and intimidated them with a well intended glare.
That was until he got elbowed in the ribs each time.
They even encountered Karma who was stopping a man from conning people with a devilish face, that Drago even went up to the boy and gave him a pat of approval. Karma made the most stupefied face the raven had ever seen on the red head, making her laugh to tears.
...~...~...~...~...~...~...~...~...~...~...~...
Whistle~ BOOM!
Kaitlyn watched the display of colour burst through the dark sky with a small content smile. Drago beside her, chewing on some Takoyaki from one Koro's many food stands, his eyes watching the fireworks with boredom, but also contentment, the same as his Little One.
"... Can I take off the Kimono now?"
"No"
"Dang it..."
The Dragon in man's skin laughed.
"At least share some Takoyaki, you Old Lizard."
He indulged the younger and presented her with one. She ate it with a happy hum.
"Do you really believe the plan will work?"
And few chews later.
"... I know it'll work~!"
"Oh? Gut feeling again?"
"Yes, and because of the insight of a friend~"
He gave her a questioning look, in which she returned with a knowing smirk.
"In all due time, Drago... in all due time."
The two continued to watch the fireworks, ending the eve of the mid summer festival.
