Chapter 18: Some Frights, Questions & Struggles
No One's POV
"A test of courage? Now?"
Nagisa questioned as the others gathered around.
"Yes! What better activity for a midsummer night?"
Koro-sensei expressed with a happy cheer, Kai-sensei also by his side with big grin.
"You two just want to have some fun."
The red head, Karma announced.
"Yup~!"
The fedora teacher responded without missing a beat.
The class watched as their shortest teacher innocently gazed at them with pureness that pulled at their heart strings.
'God! Kai-sensei's just too precious!'
"A test of courage? Could be fun!"
"Right."
"But I don't like scary stuff."
"No sweat! Koro Sensei'll be playing the ghosts, while Kai-sensei helps with the prepping."
"Yeah, I would have like to be a ghost too, but I lost to Koro-sensei on that."
Kai-sensei made what she thought was an irritated face but to the students looked more like a pout, which they secretly squealed at (Mainly the girls, but yeah, some boy too.)
But during this, they never realized the true purpose for this activity, in which their yellow teacher had planned for them.
...~...~...~...~...~ (Location: An Ocean Cavern.) ...~...~...~...~...~...
"Do you mind this kind of thing, Nagisa?"
"Well, scary stuff doesn't bother me, but I'm not much for jump scares. Koro-Sensei's so fast, we could be in trouble if he really meant to scare us."
Nagisa kept his flash light up as he talked with the greenette Kayano, taking the lead in front.
"It's Kai-sensei I'm most weary of."
"Kai-sensei? Why?"
Kayano gazed confusingly at the boys back.
"Well... Kai-sensei is kind and cares about us, but she also gives me this feeling that she can be pretty fearsome, especially with her knowledge of Magic Tricks. She could have possibly placed traps everywhere like that time with Terasaka-kun."
"Oh yeah, Kai-sensei loves her pranks, especially on Terasaka and Koro-sensei."
"From what she told me, it's because they give her the most amusing reactions to them, plus not all her pranks work on Koro-sensei, so it gives a kind of challenge."
The girl giggled at that, knowing that what the blue haired boy said was true.
They continued forward in short silence before hearing something.
Ba, Da, Da, Dan~
"Is that an Okinawa shamisen?"
Small blue flames lit up, one by one as the slow shadowy figure of Koro-sensei in costume stepped forward into the light.
"There he is!"
The two teens exclaimed.
"This is a blood-drenched cave of tragedy... where Ryukyu royalty, defeated in battle, met a violent end."
The octopus disappeared into darkness again.
"Is it really."
"He probably just made it up to make it feel more real."
They coward to each other, looking out for the "ghost". Until from behind, they heard a whisper.
"You must stay together. Wandering spirits will haunt to death anyone left alone!"
They jumped and turned around to see nothing, slightly spooked from it before to gazing at each other.
"Th- This is sounding pretty authentic. Let's hurry through, Nagisa."
"Uh- huh."
As they went forth, they could hear the same thing happening to the next group of two and sweat dropped.
...~...~...~...~...~...~...~...~...~...~...~...~...
"I knew it."
Kaitlyn said to herself as she stared down at the twister game that was placed on the ground floor, along with a radio speaker. The scene was obviously a terrible attempt of a love scandal set up.
She couldn't say she hated the idea, but... she knows better ways of action then... that.
If she had known, she probably would have helped in that instead of the set up she had done entirely to scare the students... and Koro as well.
'I just couldn't help myself. I love a little bit of mischief.'
There was a smirk on her face, and not a nice kind of smirk.
'Meh, it'll be alright. These kids shouldn't rush to be in any romance just yet. Maybe some nice little scares will help Koro-sensei in understanding that.'
The ravenet turned away to stand by and watch the fruits of her labor happen.
'I'll leave the first step to you, Hazama-chan.'
Throughout the cave, the students could hear the sound of evil laughter that echoed viciously, making them shiver frightfully in the darkness.
...~...~...~...~...~...~...~...~...~...~...~...~...
"These couples just aren't coming together. The next one, for sure!"
Koro-sensei dashed away to the next couple.
The sound of a Okinawa shamisen, the flicker of blue flames, and the slow appearance of a ghost dressed Koro coming forth through the darkness, speaking the dialogue until-
"AHHHHHH!!!!! MONSTER!!!"
The 'ghost' bolted away at the sight of what he viewed as a monsters face, but was actually his student Kirara Hazama, who displayed her face in the light with an expression that truly needed some merits.
When the dressed up teacher got away, he panted with sweat dripping down his face.
"Wh- What was that ghost I just saw? Not the actual spirit of an actual Ryukyu ruler!"
He felt cold suddenly and looked up.
"B- Bl- BLOOD!"
~SUFFER AS I HAVE SUFFERED~
Is what was written in red on the ceiling, the red unnaturally glowing a sinister shine in the darkness.
Koro shrieked and fled from the spot before encountering a boy with no eyes, and next felt something slithery hit his face. He fell in a hole of creepy bugs, saw a see-through man from an old era, encountered a human sized Japanese doll and... the Horror cartoonist Shigeru Mizuki?
But fortunately ~ or unfortunately ~ Koro-sensei wasn't the only one dealing with things inside. And behind the screams of terror and fright, there remained the hysterical laughter of not one but two people.
...~...~...~...~...~...~...~...~...~...~...~...~...
Outside, at the exit of the Ocean Cavern, the students stood or kneeled down on the sand in exhaustion. In the center was Koro-sensei, who was like a deflated balloon on the yellow beach.
"Dear God... that was intense..."
Some of them complained.
"Yeah... and I'd like to know how at the beginning of this 'test of courage' I had red hair but now have pink!"
Karma exclaimed with a vein popping out, while some of the girls discreetly giggled at the sight.
"At least you didn't get a make over. Look at me! I bet I look like some kind of barbie doll!"
Kimura complained with a sigh.
"How come only some of us are victim's, and why is it nearly all the girls were untouched?!"
Terasaka accused with a new set of pink and purple P.E. clothes, with some added glitter.
Everyone turned to the grinning Kai-sensei, who was too engrossed in her conversation with Hazuma about the set of pranks.
"Nice work, Hazuma-chan~!"
"Hehe, Thanks. How did you do that glowing writing on the wall?"
"With a little special ink I made. How did you think of the fake bugs? Really realistic huh."
"They were extremely well made, and especially satisfying when Terasaka fell in~"
The others gulped and shivered.
Nagisa laughed weakly.
"I have the strangest suspicion that this was Kai-sensei's plan of revenge for the dress up at the club."
"That would explain the victims being mainly those who weren't affected by the virus. But why was Koro-sensei also one?"
"I think its cause Kai-sensei didn't know about Koro-sensei's plans for shipping us together... and probably because she just felt like messing with him."
"Yeah, that sounds like Kai-sensei alright."
Kayano agreed with the boy and smiled plainly at the grinning ravenets ~ Kai-sensei and Hazuma ~ and then the current waste of octopus on the ground.
After a little bit of scolding from the students at Koro-sensei for the plan of using the suspension-bridge effect on them, did the last two people exit out of the cavern.
(A/N: 'A suspension bridge effect' is one of magics to make your love successful. This effect is to make the one you love easier to fall in love with you in the situation that you two share the experience of feeling anxieties and fears. I searched this up in case those of you don't understand.)
"You call that a test of courage? There was nobody in there!"
Everyone heard Professor B***h and saw her gripping onto Kurasuma's arm.
"I told you it was pointless clinging to me like that. I don't need that kind of baggage after an all-nighter."
"Shut up! You're a man, aren't you? If there's a pretty woman around, escort her nicely!"
Then the blond woman noticed the stares of the students and teachers, before silently tiptoeing away from the man.
Kurasuma noticed the ravenet and softly sighed as he walked up to her.
"Greig, you should take more caution for your health."
Kaitlyn simply smiled softly at him.
"Thanks for the concern Kurasuma, but I'm just fine. I didn't gain any fatal injuries, only some scratches and bruises."
When the shorter glanced at the students, she could already see the cupid glints in their eyes as they looked at Irina.
'Oh boy... I guess the love scheming isn't over just yet as I thought.'
She chuckled softly as Kurasuma gave her a confused glance.
...~...~...~...~...~...~...~...~...~...~...~...~...
It was peaceful and beautiful with the orange sky and the sun far in the distance. The waves and waters pulling back and forth on the sandy beach.
It was nice, Kaitlyn thought. It was familiar too. It reminded her of home.
Kaitlyn smiled in content as she walked along the beach, digging her feet in the sand.
The fedora wearing ravenet looked so tranquil from where Kurasuma stood a distance away.
The class had dragged Irina away somewhere, leaving Kurasuma and Kaitlyn to themselves.
Kurasuma had so many questions about the other... how did she survive that explosion? How did she even jump that distance and height? How was she so knowledgeable about the assassins plan? How did she hack into the hotels system even before Ritsu?
There were just so many "hows".
But maybe the most important one would be... why?
Why did she come to teach at the most prestigious school, only just to teach the lowest class? What was the point? She doesn't even care to assassination the octopus. It was easy to tell she had no such intention for it. So why?
"YO! Kurasuma!"
The called man looked at the caller.
"Let's get back for dinner!"
Kaitlyn grinned, waving the man over to the hotel. Having at some point, left the beach for the building.
Kurasuma smiled.
'I'll know one day... but not today.'
...~...~...~...~...~...~...~...~...~...~...~...~...
From inside the hotel eating by herself, Kaitlyn watched as the class and Koro-sensei's plan for Irina and Kurasuma progressed through the window.
'Hmm... Onee-san looks really cute. Nice work class.'
She smiled softly at the scene, even with the students invading the moment with their watching behind obvious places.
Taking her gaze away to give some privacy for the two, Kaitlyn focused on the food before her and melted at the taste.
"YUM~!"
The few members of the staff that were still hanging around stared at the adorable image of the ravenet eating her food. They melted on sight of such cuteness. There were even sparkles surrounding the little teacher as she ate with a blissful face.
By the time Kaitlyn finished her meal and gazed out the window again, Irina had taken Kurasuma's napkin, kissed the end of it before pressing it to Kurasuma's lips and then walked away.
"Oh... I missed something didn't I?"
She got up from her seat, grabbed her hat and left the table, heading for the exit outside, where she found the class surrounding Irina.
"-take her time to work on some decently indecent developments. Right?"
The raven heard Koro-sensei say and questioned...
"What's 'decently indecent developments' mean?"
Everyone turned to the fedora teacher as she tilted her head slightly with a confused expression that shouldn't be as endearing as it looked without some kind of effort.
Next thing Kaitlyn knew, everyone was on Koro-sensei, especially Irina, who was some how able to strangle the yellow octopus.
'Maybe I should have just kept my curiosity to myself...'
Kaitlyn sweat dropped.
And so ended their time on the island resort. They left the next morning with smiles, fond memories and experience which will help them in their journey to assassinate their teacher.
(Hi everyone, so I was thinking of ending it here, but I thought I'd write a little more.
Here is what happened when Kaitlyn got back to Drago after defeating Takaoka~
Hope you enjoy~! 😁)
After Kaitlyn gotten checked up by some medics and was announced ok to leave, she didn't hesitate to bolt away after reading her phone and the 50 texts she missed from Drago. With the most recent one being him saying he was going to crash the hotel within 10 minutes if she didn't respond.
She had given the Dragon in human form a quick "I'M ALIVE!" and "I'M ON MY WAY!" text, before telling young Nagisa about what's she doing and going, before disappearing.
She had just made it to the door of a rented room from another hotel a little far from the one of the class.
Before even touching the handle, the door opened on the other end by a man way taller then herself.
He pulled the ravenet into the room closed the door behind him and proceeded to fuss over the teen looking adult.
"What happened?! I saw an explosion on the roof! Are you injured?!" The man grit his teeth at the sight of the raven and the red on her shirt, but knew it wasn't blood. He knows the smell of blood too well and would have smelt it instantly.
"Dragooo! I'm fine, please don't overreact."
She smiled at the blue eyed man as he slowly calmed down.
Dark blues stared down at Dark browns.
"You did something reckless again didn't you."
At the Tomboy's instant sheepish grin he sighed tiredly.
"What happened?"
...~...~...~...~...~...~ (An Explanation Later) ~...~...~...~...~...~...
"I'm gonna kill him."
Drago stood and summoned black flames ~ with hints of blue in them. The flame morphed into a portal and before the man ~ Dragon ~ could step through and rain hell down ~ and much more ~ on the mortal Bastard that DARES to hurt his Little One! Kaitlyn had already predicted this was ready to literally man-handle the other from doing anything rash.
"Wait, Wait, Wait WAAAAAIT!"
Kaitlyn struggled, even with her unnatural strength, she wasn't a match for the pure rage that poured out from Drago in waves- no... Tsunami's.
"Drago! Calm down you Giant Lizard! You can't kill Takaoka, he's already been defeated!"
"If he's still breathing then that's not defeated."
"DRAGOOOOO!"
...~...~...~...~...~ (Hours of Much Struggling Later) ~...~...~...~...~...
"God... Why do you have to be so stubborn Drago?"
The ravenet breathed as she laid on the couch tiredly, it had taken a lot of physical strength to keep the other from stepping through the dark portal, then some bribing of a months worth of bakery goods to get the blue eyed man to concede... for now.
"You just told me that this human bastard wasn't even planning to give the cure and instead blew it up and you! Like a fool went for it! Tch. . . Humans."
"Yes, I know I was reckless and remember not all Humans are as bad as Takaoka."
She could feel the other rolling his eyes, but didn't really care about it, she knew that Drago can ~ and does ~ like some other humans then just herself.
"What's more disappointing is that you knocked yourself out with your own sleeping gas."
He mocked, sighing in an act of fake disappointment.
"Oi!"
Kaitlyn huffed red in embarrassment, glaring at the other.
"It is slightly concerning... your vulnerability to drugs."
He frowned, but this time with real concern.
"I've tried to work on getting a resistance to them, but sleeping ones seem to be difficult. If its just something that kills, I can pull through... but yeah, your right."
She smiled at her Guardian.
"Don't worry, I'll eventually get stronger. Plus I've got you to back me up~!"
He smiled back at the young adult.
"Don't think that flattering me will make me forget what that Man did, or that you'll get out of being grounded."
"Grounded! WHY?!"
The Dragon smirked evilly and Kaitlyn knew she was screwed for the rest of the summer holidays.
"Don't think I didn't notice that you're hiding something else from me about that Man."
She flinched with a strain smile.
"So you're grounded."
"...Aww Man."
