Chapter 5: No Worries, I Have It Covered

(I added a new photo! Check it!)

No One's POV

After the... happenings of the day before. Kaden decided that the town just had many interesting and weird people. It ended with Kaden and Aura eventually splitting ways and going off home.

Kaden even got the feeling that Aura had fun, even with the things, that happened. Either way, he counted it as a win and told Drago about it that night at dinner.

For some reason when the ravenet mentioned the group of girls, Drago asked strange questions about them with a weird face. Kaden just brushed it off as Drago being grumpy after another heist night and went to bed for the bliss that was sleep.

...~...~...~...~...~...~...~...~...~...~...~...~...

The next day, it was raining and damp at school. Kaden had been napping in Math's class til the bell rang and signaled its time for lunch.

He was reluctant to move since the sound of the rain outside was super relaxing to listen to and the heater close by, cast the cold away with great efficiency.

It was in this class, that Kaden didn't share with the mint haired boy who he ~ even if one sided ~ befriended.

Don't get him wrong, he was friendly and talked with the other students and teens around, but Aura was the only one which Kaden had chosen to hang with.

It had been the familiarity of the hooded boys presences that caught his interest and his cold humor that made him really think 'This guys fun!'.

(It's really just Aura being mean, Kaden just sees it as humorous when it's directed at him.)

So with great enthusiasm, Kaden made it so they could chat and walk around. When they had any other company, Aura seemed to dislike them instantly and scare them off with a glare. Which... ok, he probably needed to fix, but truthfully, Kaden sometimes preferred it to just be the two of them at times.

There was no need to waste away any energy to entertain anyone, no need to show a magic trick just to gain their attention. Even if the mint-head shows a disinterested face, Kaden knew he listens to his rambles, and when Kaden felt no need to talk, Aura still remained in his company. It was never awkward.

It was nice.

"Oh yeah." Kaden got up from his desk. "I brought some lunch today~!"

It had been some left over food from dinner that Kaden happened to remembered to pick up this morning after sleeping in.

"Hmm~!" He brought out the large box which shouldn't have fit inside of the bag he currently had. "Which classroom was Aura in at this time?"

Walking out of the class and into the hallway, he stayed in thought and let his mind run.

"Was it that class? Or was it the other one?"

(Note: Kaden/Kaitlyn can be forgetful at times... especially for some simple things.)

As he was about to open the slid door-

CRASH! BANG!

"AHHHHHH!!!"

Kaden bolted a many classrooms ahead to where the loud noise and screams originated from.

When there, he slammed the door open and dropped his boxed lunch at the scene.

"AURA!"

The Classroom was trashed with desks flipped over, chairs in the same state. There were only six teen boys inside ~ excluding Aura ~ and they were either shaking in a corner or laid on the ground with injuries, some traces of blood on them and floor. But the bloodiest there was the mint haired boy who was beating another injured teen.

"AURA STOP!"

The raven ran to the mentioned boy and ripped him away from the already beaten teenager, who was already unconscious.

Kaden got pushed away soon after and braced himself for the incoming punch headed his way.

Wham!

'Whoa, he's got a strong hit there.'

The ravenet dodges the next hit and kick, before jumping a distance away.

"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!"

Aura screamed, tugging at the roots of his hair, his eyes wide and in utter pain. Kaden called for the boy but didn't receive any other reaction beside his continued scream.

The ravenet looked at the boys across the room and found three of them still conscious but frozen in place.

"What are you guys doing?! Get your friends out of here and run!"

They didn't respond.

"GET YOUR BLOODY A**ES UP AND RUN! I MEAN IT!! F**KIN GET MOVING NOW!!!"

They did as told and scuffled to grab their fallen companions and out the doors. Kaden moved quickly to close the doors and thanked God, that the classroom they were in now was quite isolated from the rest of the student body. But there was still the chance of somebody hearing the commotion, like he did. So Kaden used his Mist Flames to keep anyone from finding the classroom.

(Note: Mist Flames are from the anime Hitman Reborn, and are able to make illusions, so Kaden can keep anyone from finding the room.

P.S. Kaden can use all of the Flames in the anime. Umm, probably not Dying Will Flames of Earth tho.)

Aura was still screaming as he charged at the only living thing within the room, which was Kaden.

The raven catches the incoming fist and moved to the side before receiving a swiping kick. Kaden went down and rolled over to the side as the crazed Aura kept coming. When Aura met with the ground and not the raven, Kaden used the moment to tackle the shorter boy.

The other kept thrashing in Kadens hold, which was him holding the other arms.

"Aura!"

Still no response.

"Aura snap out of it!!"

He couldn't hear him. Whatever memory the mint haired teen was stuck in, he couldn't hear or see past it. Kaden grit his teeth at the sight of his friend. What could it be that has the other suffering so much?

Aura kept struggling with wide eyes that were glazed over and unfocused, unseeing of the raven before him. All he could comprehend was the agonizing pain... the pain that was just felt so F**king cold and awful, he couldn't bear it!!!

'It hurts! IT HURTS!!!' Were screaming in blue eyes.

Arms wrapped around the bloody teens arms and rested behind his back. A chin and head placed gently on his shoulder.

Aura moved and started beating on the back of the one embracing him. Kaden endured it all, even when he felt the piercing pain of a butterfly knife stab him.

(Yeah, Aura carries a knife on him according to Janu.)

Kaden kept holding him and waited for his white flames to take affect while whispering small words of comfort.

"You're fine now. Nothing is gonna hurt you. You're safe Aura, you're safe here."

The ravenet could feel the change happen as Aura stopped struggling and was only shaking slightly. His breathing was slowly easing up into good even breaths. He stopped shaking now and seemed to lean into the ravens embrace.

"... so... warm..."

Kaden heard and smiled softly, rubbing the mint-heads back.

...~...~...~...~...~...~...~...~...~...~...~...~...

Afterwards, Aura lost consciousness and Kaden let him rest as he went about cleaning the classroom and getting rid of any evidence of Aura's outburst, which included the blood on their clothes.

Kaden was fortunate to have spare clothes and changed himself and Aura into them, before taking Aura to the nurses office and leaving him rest there. The nurse seemed to be missing and that worked in the ravens favour as he took some bandages and disinfectant for his back which he temporarily wrapped up using his bloodied shirt and ribbons.

There were trails of those boys being here and quickly taken away, probably by ambulance, so Kaden had to wrap himself up quick.

Once done, he had to find those boys from before and hear what happened before he arrived. Then he'll either have to do something about their memory or come up with a good story which will explain Aura's behavior.

'Hopefully those guys were too traumatized to blab just yet.'

Kaden sighed tiredly before leaving for the hospital.

...~...~...~...~...~...~...~...~...~...~...~...~...

When Kaden had returned to school, it was already past the end of classes. Only some students remained for after school activities and clubs. Kaden headed straight for the nurses office to find the nurse there this time around.

"Ah, hello." Kaden greeted the woman.

She turned from her papers and looked at the boy.

"Hello, how may I help you?"

"I came for my friend who I left resting here."

He explained and saw the woman's eyes shine in understanding.

"Oh, you're the one who left the note and that boy here." In her hand was a little pink sticky note which Kaden left behind incase the nurse came back before Aura woke.

"Yeah, that was me. Is he still here?"

The woman smiled at the show of concern on the ravens face for his friend.

"Yes, he's still resting. I was just planning to wake him since school is already over and my shift is nearly finished." she got up from her chair and picked up her bag. "Can I trust you to lock up after you and your friend leave?"

Kaden nodded with a smile, before receiving the room keys and was told to drop them off at the teachers lounge later, before getting a friendly pat on the head from the kind woman. And she was gone.

"Okay, you can get up now, I know you're not asleep."

Kaden waited for a minute before hearing the bed creak and the curtain get pulled. He smiled at the wakeful mint head.

"How are you feeling?"

"...Better."

Aura answered almost timidly, not gazing at the ravenet boy.

"Good."

Kaden walked up to the mint head and gently messed up his hair. He laughed at the boy instant protest. Happy that the action got the other to look him in the eye.

"Come on, lets get out of here. I've already got your bag, so all that's left is to lock up and leave the keys at the teachers lounge."

They did just that in total silence and where leaving through the school gates before Aura finally spoke.

"How's..."

He said and hesitated. Kaden waited patiently, giving him time to finish. Aura bit his lip.

"...How's... your back?"

The raven hummed in thought.

"It's painful, but truthfully? I'm fine. It should heal with time~!"

Kaden grinned and it seemed to rub the mint-head the wrong way.

"It's not FINE!" He yelled. "I know there are probably bruises... and the fact that I sta-"

"Did you mean to do it?"

The raven cut him off.

"What?"

"Was anything you did intentional?"

"W-well no, but-"

"Then it's fine"

"What? It's not fine!" Aura glared at the raven, and Kaden could see guilt and sadness in his blue eyes. "I... didn't want to hurt you, but I did. . . . . . . . . . I'm sorry."

It was silent again with Kaden's eyes shadowed by his hair. Aura looked just about ready to turn away in a dejected state before being pulled over and under Kaden's arm, head locked under it, before feeling his hair being roughed up.

"Who would have thought that little-Aura had it in him to say the words 'I'm Sorry'? *Sniff* I'm almost put to tears~!"

The rat-tailed boy wailed dramatically, still holding the other in a head lock.

"I'm trying to be sincere, you Dark-Haired Idiot!"

This just caused Kaden to laugh and release the other.

"And that's where you need correcting dude." Dark Brown gazed brightly at Icy Blues. "You're my friend, I don't need you to say sorry to me for things like having your back or helping you. I'd gladly do it again, just for that reason."

Speechless, Aura stared at the taller teen. If his face was pink or red, then the raven didn't notice it.

"Let's get something to eat, I'm starving!"

Kaden walked forwards as Aura dumbly followed. After deciding they would have Ramen, Aura had a thought about the guys from before.

"Hey, what happened to those guys? And won't they tell people about what happened?"

Aura noticed the ravens smirk, and knew it was bad, not for him, but for others.

"No Worries, I have it covered~!"
