No One's POV

In the darkness of the night, in a building with the Suzuki family insignia plastered on it's gate. A man sleeps soundly in his king sized bed, sheets and pillows of silk, soft and comfortable to the touch.

The old man sleeps away, with dreams of achievement and the capture of not one, but two, insufferable thieves. His beloved dog Lupin, rests easily by the side of his owners bed.

But the silence is interrupted by the shuffled sounds of the windows curtains, waking the dog.

Lupin's ears and eye dart to the sounds and naturally... the intruder. Before the dog could growl, the stranger kneels down shushing the furry animal with a little treat. Not able to resist the smell of food the stranger had in hand, Lupin crossed the room and was given the tempting snack.

"Good boy~!" The intruder whisper softly to the dog, scratching him behind the ears which earned a wagging tail and lick of approval.

The night visitor smiled kindly at the animal, leaving the dog Lupin with the impression that the stranger was indeed... not a threat.

Giving one more treat, our stranger stood to their feet and started for the bed where the old man laid, startling Lupin. The hound moved in front of the intruder, blocking his path. Treats of not, his owner comes first!

"Don't worry Brave Dog" The stranger keeled before Lupin again looking the furry animal in the eyes "I don't mean any harm to your owner... trust me"

And trust them animal did. Stepping away from the ~ oddly kind ~ intruders way, Lupin simply watched.

Now, the stranger walked passed the loyal dog and towards the rich man that still slept the night away. Once by the side of their bed, the stranger pulled out a blue sapphire and gently placed it on the small table, nearside the bed, along with it a small card and message for when the owner wakes.

Turning away again, the stranger approached Lupin the dog.

"I'm sorry to ask this, but I need to gas you." They said as Lupin made a small noise "I don't want you to get into trouble, so would you please trust me once more?"

As if the dog could understand, Lupin nodded his head and waited.

Knocking the dog out without trouble, and laying the loyal pet gently to the carpet floor. The intruder pet his fur before disappearing out the window.

"...Is it done?..."

"Yup~! Went smoothly like I said."

"...How the hell were you able to get passed Lupin?! I mean, that dog only ever listens to Old man Suzuki..."

"Easy, I simply asked"

"...simply ASKED!..."

"OW! Geez, keep it down would ya!"

"...How the hell does simply asking work!..."

"That... dear cousin~ is a trade secret~!"

When Suzuki Jirokichi woke from his slumber, he never anticipated for what he saw.

At first, in his sleepy hazy mind, he thought it was simply a dream and thought nothing of it. A blue sapphire, looking exactly like the one he owns, only that, he remembers clearly that it didn't have a white flickering glow inside of it.

So clearly he was dreaming. But what a dream it was. The light within the jewel looked beautiful, almost like a Star.

Tiredly he reached out for the gem and when he realised it was solid did he finally have some sense and sat up straight. The mornings rays seeped through the curtains as the older gentleman threw his legs outs of the blankets and over the edge.

"T- this is... the Moons Star!!!"

Even with his shocked posture, he noticed the note on his side table. A note with a doodled face. Reading its contexts shocks him even more before a big grin spreads on his face.

"Morning News!! The Moon's Star has been returned!"

The news cast exclaimed on the screen.

"Reports say that this morning, famous millionaire Suzuki Jirokichi, found the gem at his bed side and left this message..."

The screen changed to the old man Suzuki's face.

"Just you wait until next time you blasted thieves! The next jewel will be safe in my hands!!!"

The screen blacked out, with the hit of a button.

A young and beautiful teen girl, stood to her feet and with a word and wave of her hand, she summoned her butler.

"Yes Akako-sama."

"Prepare my robes."

"As you wish, Akako-sama."

Red eyes glanced at the black screen once more.

"Who are you really Kaitou Blade, and where did you come from."

Kaito ~ for his part ~ knew this would come at some point, he just really didn't want to deal with it now. But not everything would go as he liked.

It was at school, a day after he and Kaitlyn argued about what to do with the Moons Star, until Kaitlyn eventually won out and returned the Jewel that night. Aoko had seen the news and was livid for a few hours ~ like her father ~ with only Kaito and Kaitlyn to calm them down.

During school the Mop-wielding master, calmed down some more while chatting with Keiko about the latest pop song. As for the long haired raven, well...

Kaito gazed at the slumped figure of his cousin who didn't seem to have a care in the world while napping like she does ~ during and after classes. But truth be told, when the kid was feeling like it, she is just as formidable with pranks and energy as Kaito is. And that's why the class and teacher is ok with her sleeping habits.

It was during this, the crimson beauty walked passed her lovesick followers and towards the class magician.

"Kuroba-kun" a shiver up Kaito's spine ~ which he concealed before anyone could notice ~ as he turned to the red witch with a scowl. Ready to make a snarky remark for the creepy girl to leave him alone—

"I need to have a word with you."

Then she suddenly snatched his arm ~ causing quite the uproar with her followers ~ and dragged him away and to the roof.

Once there, the brunette snatched his arm back and glared at the girl.

"What the hell Akako!?"

"Kuroba-kun" He was held in an intense glare ~ that made him want to gulp ~ before... "What is Kaitlyn?"

He froze for a scarce instant, before relaxing into his poker face.

"She's my Cousin Akako, I thought you already knew this on the first day she arrive." He rolled his eyes, but felt the intensity of her glare almost burn his soul.

She grits her teeth together in annoyance, at the teen boy who just wouldn't cooperate.

"Don't lie to me Kuroba! That child is not ordinary! She has unnatural Magic that could be dangerous!? Why I didn't sense it in the beginning, I don't know, but this just makes the matter worse! You have to tell me what you know, now, Kuroba."

Kaito was annoyed by the witches command, but it couldn't compare to the anger he felt when she accused Kaitlyn of being some kind of dangerous threat. How hypocritical could the witch be!? Considering all those times with her own red magic coming to play.

So, without thought, Kaito ~ for once in his life ~ yelled at someone.

"You don't know what your talking about Akako. And don't you DARE talk about Kaitlyn like that! YOU ESPECIALLY have no right to say anything of the sort!"

The red witch drew back a step, never anticipating for Kuroba to lose face and actually yell back. But she was stubborn and had to make the other hear what she knew or suspected.

"You don't understand Kuroba! I have used my magic to find any sort of information I could get on her. Lucifer had said—"

"Enough"

His voice had turned cold and almost threatening, that the crimson sorceress froze and held back her words.

Kaito knew he was acting out of character, but this conversation wasn't something he could tolerate so easily like he did with others. This was an insult and threat to his family!

He won't ever admit it, but Kaitlyn is his little sister now, a Kuroba. And he was protective of his Family.

"I don't want to hear anything else you have to say Akako, I'm heading back."

He turned on his own two feet for the door, hands shoved deep in his pockets and lips thinned into a deep frown.

Taking one last leaping chance, Akako grabbed his arm.

A growl left his throat as he drew in a breath, ready to snap at the persistently annoying witch.

"The time ticks till the thousandth comet comes.
Of great chaos shall the earth endure.
The bird shall cry, when love one is red.
A white sinner shall call, but ignored.

Crows rise and falls, in the eyes of such fright.
And Fire rains to the end of the night.

You have been warned Kuroba-kun."

She then released him and walked through the door first, leaving the magician and his thoughts.

...~...~...~...~...~...~ (Flashback) ~...~...~...~...~...~...

Within the depths of a creepy old basement ~ or should you call it, evil lair ~ a dark robed witch, stood before a giant pot that glowed and boiled in power, as a great being of fire and smoke hovered above its contents.

"Tell me great Lucifer and answer my final question! What is this Kaitlyn Greig for such a prophecy to occur?"

There was a small tense silence between them, until the demon sneered.

"Listen well Witch, for I shall be blunt.
Do not hurt that child or the people she loves.

For not even I could stop the burning fury of her kind."

With that, Lucifer vanished back to where he came, leaving the Red Witch standing. Her eyes wide and hands trembling.

"Akako-sama?"

Slowly, Akako turned to her servant, not willing to look him in the eye.

"Get my belongings ready. I am going to school."

The servant bowed to his red mistress and left the dark chamber.

'What... what on earth are you Kaitlyn?... for even the devil to be afraid of you?'

Polished nails dig into her soft skin as they clenched into tight fists.

'Kuroba Kaito... what have you brought to this world?!'

Red eyes stared at the slumbering figure with caution and alertness for the possible danger.

And yikes! I made Kaito serious and scary. But at least I made Akako have more screen time.

Yes, she finally asked Lucifer about Kaitlyn. Reason for why she didn't before when Kaitlyn first arrived will be explained in the next chapter where I will feature more of her, and her new caution of Kaitlyn. All the while, Kaito is being protective of his cousin and wants the witch as faraway as possible.

Except Kaitlyn has other plans~!
