21. Explanation
Oscar Messina
We had a great night last night! After mommy introduced us to her friends, it was ok.
When Alice and I realized they weren't going to hurt us, we definitely calmed down and had fun with them.
Although, I'm still wondering why they all live together, is there something mommy's not telling us?
Bea Messina
"Hey Blackjack." Bill's voice sounds through the phone the minute I answer, "You were supposed to race last night, remember?" He asks in a mocking tone.
"I'm sorry Bill. I had things to do, I'll be there tonight, I'll even pay double the admission fee for all the races." I answer sighing.
"It's fine, you'll pay normal like everyone else. We have four races tonight so make sure to show up, we have a lot of newbies trying out the track and they need to be put in their place, their egos are way to big." He says chuckling.
I giggle as well, "Alright, Bill, see you later." Saying our goodbyes, I hang up the phone and throw it back on the nightstand as I cuddle back into the warm embrace of Ace.
"What was that about?" He mumbles against my neck.
"I missed three races last night. I had told Bill I was going to race. Instead I'll be in all four tonight since I missed yesterday." I answer looking into his beautiful eyes.
"Why don't I bring the twins down to the track with us so they can see what their mommy does?" He asks smirking at the name he gave me.
"If you stay with them up on the cliff, Sure. And don't ever call me mommy again. I'm kitten, remember?" I answer smirking.
"Of course, how could I forget." He replies, placing a soft kiss on my lips. His lips against mine are so soft and warm, they make me feel like I never want to move, like I could stay here all day.
As if on cue, the door bursts open and in comes running two hyper kids, jumping on top of us. "Mommy, why is Ace in your bed?" Oscar asks innocently looking confused at the amused Ace next to me.
"We were laying together, is that alright?" I ask with a raised brow.
"I don't see why not." He answers shrugging. I chuckle and place a kiss on his forehead before standing up. Ace was about to do the same until Oscar attacked him, "You mister, need to stay here." Ace chuckles beneath him and lays back down as Oscar sits on his stomach.
"C'mon Oscar, lets get you guys some breakfast." I say giggling at his attitude today. He pouts and reluctantly gets off of Ace. I giggle and lead the twins downstairs to the kitchen.
They sit both at the kitchen counter, patient and quiet, waiting for their food. I smile and grab milk from the fridge, afterwards grabbing the cereal and bowls.
I pour them both a small bowl and place it in front of them with a spoon. They say their thanks and eat silently.
"So later tonight, I'm going to the track and Ace is going to stay with you guys for a while, is that alright with you?" I ask as I lean up against the counter across from them.
"What do you mean the track?" Alice asks, placing her spoon down on the counter and looking at me curiously.
"I mean, I'm racing tonight and Ace is bringing you guys to the edge so you can watch. Is that alright?" I ask again with the same light tone.
"You're a racer? That's awesome!" Alice yells as excitement fills her face. I giggle and shake my head as I watch her pick up her spoon and continue with her breakfast once more.
After they finish breakfast, we sit in the living room and begin talking with Ace and my guys.
"Momma, can you tell us why you really live with all these men and why Ace does too?" Oscar asks, breaking every person in the room from their conversation.
All eyes snap to his as they widen, not wanting to answer the question that may shatter his spirits.
My eyes widen and I point them to the floor, avoiding his prying gaze.
"Momma?" Alice whispers, now curious as well.
I look up to see all eyes in the room on me, curious as to how I'm going to explain this. I heavily sigh and start the explanation, "Do you remember Grandpa's house at all Oscar?"
"Yeah, a bit. He had lots of scary men living in the big house. They all threatened me all the time, they were all scary all the time." He answered with fear lacing his voice.
"Well honey, that's because he ran a gang, all those men were in his gang." I explained softly. "These guys in the house with me, they are a part of my gang. Ace also run a gang, a different one from mine. I promise you though, these guys will not be like the one in Grandpa's gang." I explained as I squeezed his small hand in mine.
"You're in a gang?" He affirms. I nod slightly and wait for his reaction. "You promise they won't hurt us?" He asks in a quiet voice, looking over to the sympathetic looks of the men in the room.
"I promise baby. They work for me, if they even thought about doing something bad, hell would break loose." I said with a small smirk. "Are you guys ok with this?" I ask in a soft tone again, still trying to gauge their reaction.
He looks to Alice, she has a somewhat fearful look on her face, after a small nod from her, he turns back to me and sighs, "As long as Alice will be safe." He says.
"You'll both be safe." I say pulling him in for a tight hug. He nods and melts in my arms, Alice's little arms circle my body, I smile and rub her back.
"Bea, we've go to get to the track if you plan on getting there on time." Kirk says breaking the silence. I glance at the clock and see that it is indeed time to go.
"Ok, you guys are gonna go with Ace in his car and I'll meet you guys there, ok? I have to take my race car." They both nod their heads and Alice takes Ace's hand as he leads them out to the garage. I smile slightly and follow them out.
They both jump in the back of his car. Before Ace gets in himself, he comes over to me and grabs me by my hips, smashing my body onto his.
"The kids are right there Ace." I say biting my lip slightly as he places light kisses on my neck.
"I know." He whispers against my skin. "Promise me you'll be safe." He says bringing his face to mine again, looking into my eyes.
"I promise Ace, you don't have anything to worry about." I say putting my arms around his neck. He nods and his soft lips meet mine.
When we pull away, I smile and walk to my race car. I nod to him before I hop in the front seat and drive off behind them. I can't wait for them to see me race.
