2. Chinese food

Bea Messina

"You're a junior?" Isaac asks, speaking for the first time, exposing his deep voice.

"Uh, Yeah." I answer a bit confused, why does it matter? Before I can ask, I walk away and call the Chinese place, ordering a shit ton of food because I'm so hungry and I haven't gotten groceries yet.

I walk back to see them all sitting at the counter and talking among themselves. "They said the food will be here in about half an hour." I say hopping up on the counter across from them.

They nod and all look my way, looking for answers. "Why is it so weird I'm a junior?" I ask curious from before.

"You just seem older, more mature, more independent." Isaac answers as he observes my figure.

"Well since your in my house, you can tell there are no parents. Guess that why I'm independent." I answer truthfully.

"Guess so, tell us more about yourself Bea." Weston asks curiously.

I smile and reply, "Well I just moved here, you know that. My full name is Bea Messina. I like cars, I'm a mechanic. You know I'm a junior in high school and I plan on getting a cat." I think about it, a cat would be so cute to get! I really should get one. Now I can't get my mind off the idea of having a cute cat running around the house. Maybe I should get a dog, maybe that would be more fun to have. Maybe.

"That's it? There's nothing else?" Richie asks with a shocked look on his face.

I smile and shake my head, nothing else. "No family members, no siblings?"

"That's for another time." I say looking to the floor, I can't tell them my whole life story, it'll fill their dreams with nightmares. "Tell me more about yourselves." I say meeting their gazes again.

They look to each other before they look back. "That's for another time." Ace replies, copying my answer.

I put my hands up in surrender and giggle a bit "As long as I don't have five murderers standing in my house, we're good." They chuckle and shake their heads at my foolishness, at least they aren't from a rival gang or something like that.

I've had bad run-ins with some gangs in the past. They didn't quite like that I was a girl and could beat up their strongest members in the ring. They almost always came after me and tried to take me out, that's the main reason I don't really let anyone know my secret life and keep it to myself.

With a ring of the door bell, I answer the door to find a girl maybe a year younger than me standing there with my order in her hands. I take it from her and hand her the money in bills, she smiles and nods at the tip I left her, poor girl, having to work like this.

I sigh and carry the bags of food back to the kitchen. Setting it on the counters, I take out all the boxes and place them on the counter top, I grab the chop sticks and when I'm about to dig in, I fell their gazes on me. "Do you guys want forks or something?" I ask trying to hold back the laughter at their unable to ask for things.

They shamefully nod and I smirk, throwing a few forks from the drawer after pulling them out. I'm lucky this house was fully furnished or else I wouldn't have had anything.

After they dig in,  I walk to the living room, plopping myself down on the couch and flipping the tv on to surf the channels. They all come and join me, Ace on one side and Isaac on the other, with the twins and Raphael on the floor in front of us.

I flip the tv to Netflix and put on the first Fast and Furious, I haven't seen it in a while. I see the guys smile, happy I didn't pick some kind of chick flick, they all seem to get a bit comfier, ready to watch the whole thing and actually like it and not have to pretend.

After the beginning credits, Raphael turns around to face Ace and says "See, she gets it, nobody likes to watch chick flicks."

"They are so boring, so predictable and put unrealistic goals for relationships in a girls head." I respond emotionless and without moving my eyes from the screen. The twins both look back and I can see the shock on their faces, they then both smile to each other and face the tv again, leaning their backs against the couch. I shake my head and continue to eat my food while watching the action movie.

After the movies over, I realize it's late. "You guys should probably get going, we do have school tomorrow after all." I say standing from the couch and standing in front of them all.

They all nod and stand, filing out of the house. As they leave they all yell some kind of goodbye over their shoulders.

Now, sleep. With that thought, I lock the doors and head up to the master bedroom. One wall is black while the others are red, my custom colours. I made them paint certain rooms in the house before I came, one of them being my room. I wanted black and red to match the cards on my racing car.

I always race with my challenger, that way, when they see the cards, they know it's me. That's why I can't take it to school. The two cards painted on each side are the jack of hearts and the ace of spades, blackjack.

I sigh and flop down onto the plain bed that has yet to get any exciting pillows or comforters. I close my eyes and wait as sleep takes me over.

***

With the sound of the alarm blaring in my ear, I slam my hand down on the side table and realize the alarm is on my phone. I groan as the sound continues, sitting up I turn the alarm off I had set for 5 am to get ready.

Yawning, I stand up and stretch out, hearing my joints pop and my muscles stretch from their dense state.

Walking into the bathroom for the first time, I close the door behind me and go straight for the all glass shower. The warm water cascading down my body was soothing as my mind was reeling of the things that could go wrong today.

Although I've been to many new schools, the first day gets me every time. I'm not even this nervous before a race or fight, I don't know what it is but other people my age make me nervous. They are unpredictable and in no way follow the rules, but that's the way I like it.

After getting out, I pulled my blow dryer from my bag and dried my long, wavy brown hair. I left it in its natural waves and moved to my face. I decided to go subtle with a bit of mascara to help my hazel eyes pop and a pale pink lipstick.

Getting dressed, I put on a black and white striped, long sleeve shirt, black skinny jeans and all white converse. I looked in the mirror and thought 'damn girl'. I always get loads of attention on the first day in these small towns. Once they realize I'm nothing much, they back off and I disappear until I have to leave. I bet they don't even notice that I'm gone most of the time.

Looking at the time again, I see it's almost time for me to get going. I head down to the kitchen and grab my keys, they have all my car keys and house keys all on one key chain attached to a suicide squad lanyard.

Quickly locking the front door, I exit through the garage door and get on my motorcycle.

I drive it down the driveway and out, to the city centre, in search of a coffee shop. On my way there, I spot the school, many kids are already milling about. Shaking my head, I find a Starbucks down the road. I didn't realize this town was big enough for one of those.

I walk in to the overly strong coffee smelling shop, ordering my favourite, passion tango lemonade. I smile to the nice lady behind the counter and take it back to my bike.

I know what your thinking, 'How's she going to ride with her drink?' Believe me, I have it figured out, there's a cup holder behind the seat, when I had this bike made, I had a cup holder made.

Arriving at the school I take my keys and grab my drink. I look around to see the typical cliques of jocks, cheerleaders, nerds and then the nobody's. But there's also one more, they seem to be a group mixed with jocks and the school bad boys. Looking at them closer, I see Ace and the other guys.

One thing stands out the most, they are wearing football jerseys. I never realized they were football players! I should've never let them in, I just made friends with the most popular guys in the school, dammit.
