I sat in my room, Leonard next to me. We had been stuck in the Temporal Zone for a week and everyday we were together.

"So what happened while I was with Oliver? You and Mick seem to avoid each other."

"He's mad at me. He'll get over it." I sighed and he smirked at me. "So you told Oliver everything?"

"Yeah, I always do."

"Hmm...what did you tell him about us?" He asked getting close to my face.

"That we're madly in love with each other." I answered without missing a beat and saw him give a small smile that if I wasn't paying attention I would miss.

"Seriously?" He asked back to smirking.

"Nah, I told him you and Mick have been doing an awesome job at watching me." He leaned closer to my face. "What?"

"Anything else Nica?" He whispered and I blushed. "Just kidding. I'm glad you feel like telling people about me and Mick. However I do have a question."

"Okay?"

"If Mick and I chose to stay in 2046 would you stay with us?" I blinked and smiled at him.

"Honestly...yeah I think I would. I mean I do miss home but...I don't know..." He smiled again but switched it to a smirk.

"Mick thought you would."

"But you didn't want to?" He nodded and I smiled.

"What if you had to chose between us...me and Mick?"

"Leonard what's up with 20 questions?" I asked him and he sighed and whispered never mind. "I would chose you." I whispered and sighed.

"What?"

"I would chose you. Don't ask why." I whispered and he smirked before kissing my cheek.

"Don't need to, I know why." I rolled my eyes and he laughed. He laid on his side on my bed and pulled me down next to him. "You know after a quick nap I think I'm gonna go play cards with Sara."

"I'll come and sit by you, but I have some reading to do." He smirked and kissed my cheek, wrapping his arms around me. We both drifted off.

I woke up first and smiled at him softly. His arms were tight around my stomach holding me in place.

"Leo..." His eyes shot open and he smirked at me.

"Is that what you're going to call me?" He asked me pulling my face closer to him.

"If you don't mind." I whispered and he smirked kissing my cheek.

"Not at all Nica." He stretched and got off my bed, holding his hand out for me. I took it and before he could pull me out I made sure to grab my book. "And what type of book is that?"

"Advanced magic...I'm trying to learn how to do wordless magic but I keep messing up." I told him smiling. He took the book from me and smirked looking through it.

"Huh?" He handed it back, took my hand again and we began to walk together. I was blushing because he was holding my hand. We made it to the cargo bay where Sara was waiting for him.

"You're late..." She stopped when she saw me with him and smiled. "Never mind. Let's play." I sat down next to Leonard as him and Sara played. Mick came in and started to pace. He wouldn't look at Leonard but he flashed me a smirk.

I sighed as I opened my book and began reading.

Keep repeating the incantation in your mind, clear all thoughts but the incantation.

I closed my eyes and tried to clear my mind but I felt Leonard's hand on my leg, I opened my eyes and he smirked at me. I smiled and closed my eyes again.

I opened my eyes and found a very small light. I sighed and Sara and Leonard looked at me.

"You need more practice Nica." Leonard said and I nodded.

"Nica?"

"My nickname for Veronica." Leonard told Sara who smirked.

"I see." Sara said smirking at me and I blushed a little. Mick screamed and I turned to see a knife in one of the containers. He walked over to it and pulled it out.

"I'm done." Mick said turning towards us.

"Don't mind him. He's still sore about having to leave 2046." Leonard said as him and Sara continued to play.

"I'm sore because I was recruited for my unique ability to light things on fire. And now, I'm locked in the one place where I can't light things on fire....a spaceship." Mick rushed past up and up the stairs.

"Where do you think you're going?" Leonard asked making Mick stop.

"Why? You gonna clock me in the head if I don't listen again?" Mick said and they had a stare off until Mick turned and left. I sighed shaking my head as Leonard looked back at the cards.

"Everything okay with you two?" Sara asked Leonard. I smiled softly.

"Yeah, peachy." I rubbed his leg and he smirked at me. They kept playing while I kept practicing. The ball was getting a little bigger but not much.

"Could everyone please report to the bridge." Rip's voice came over the intercom.

"To be continued later." Sara said standing up. Leonard got up after her and helped me up.

Gideon showed us a clip and I sighed.

"And we care about this chick why?" Mick asked what I think we all were thinking. I was standing in front of Leonard and he was between Jax and Ray.

"We don't, but the Acheron's computer will contain the current intel on Savage's whereabouts. Gideon, set a course for the Acheron's position in deep space."

"Yes Captain."

"Deep space? I had no idea we had the ability to explore the unknown realms of the galaxy. Astonishing." Stein said getting happy. I smiled.

"No, what's astonishing is that we're acting as roadside assistance for the people who's chasing us."

"Doesn't it seem suspicious, this distress call just happened to reach us?" Leonard said we all agreed with him.

"How do we know it's not a trap?" Kendra asked.

"We don't, but what we do know is that Savage's trail has run cold. And unless Gideon can upload the data from the Acheron's computer...." Rip started until Mick interrupted.

"I'm in."

"You are?" Leonard asked shocked.

"The sooner we end Savage, the sooner I get back to where I belong."

"Prison?" Stein said and I rolled my eyes.

"Any prison on Earth's better than this one, Professor." Mick responded.

"Gideon."

"Yes sir." Gideon responded to Rip.

"Engines to full throttle." We all sighed and took our seats. Jax was about to sit next to Leonard until he pulled me down.

"Sorry Jax, this seat is reserved for Nica." I blushed and Jax smiled and walked to another seat. I didn't realize everyone was staring at us.

"Of course, Captain." And with that we were off into space. Once we reached space everyone got up and moved around. I stayed by Leonard's side until I got thirsty. When I came back Mick walked past me without even smirking at me.

"What was that about?" I asked him, handing him a soda.

"Just...he hasn't cooled down yet."

"About 2046?" He nodded and I smiled softly at him. "Honestly, I don't think he will Leo." I told him and kissed his cheek before Rip came over.

"Care to come with us Veronica?"

"Nah I'll stay here, I want to do some more studying." Rip nodded and held a book out to me. "What's this?"

"I believe it's called a grimoire....One of the oldest copies I have ever gotten my hands on." Leonard took my soda from me so I could take the book.

"It is...this belongs to Dr. Fate....how did you?"

"Better you don't know. I believe he should be able to help you." I smiled and Rip walked away.

"Dr. Fate?" Leonard asked a little jealous.

"Don't worry, he's married." I joked and he smirked.

"Good. So what is in that old book that can help you?" Leonard asked as I took a seat on the floor of the platform. He followed me and sat in the seat right above me, placing one of his legs near my body. I leaned onto that leg.

"Dr. Fate is the greatest known Sorcerer Supreme."

"Aren't you Sorceress Supreme?" Sara asked walking over to us.

"Yes...I am." I whispered looking through the book. "However I haven't earned that title, yet. The reason I was given it was because my magic is stronger than everyone, except Dr. Fate. Well stronger than good magic, not dark." I corrected myself.

"So this Fate guy?" Leonard asked me.

"Did you say Fate?" Kendra asked walking over.

"Yeah, shit I forgot you should know him in your past lives." She nodded and smiled at the book.

"He was a great sorcerer." I nodded at her smiling.

"Captain's log. Stardate 837.9. We're awaiting word from the away team aboard the Acheron." Ray said causing Kendra to walk over to him.

"I hate to break it to you, but you're no Captain Kirk. You're Picard."

"But Picard was cautious, pontification, sort of sexless." Ray said in response to Kendra. I felt like laughing because I could see the connection between the two.

"Well, tell that to Vash. And for the record, Picard was way hotter than Kirk." Kendra said and walked away from Ray. He followed her with his eyes.

"Ooh, Mick had it wrong. This ship isn't a prison. It's a torture chamber." Leonard said making me smirk.

"Well, I don't think Mick's problem is with the ship." Sara said and I knew where this conversation was going. Leonard asked me everyday if he made the right choice.

"You think it's with me."

"You did knock him out and force him to leave 2046 Star City, which is like Disneyland for felons." Sara pointed out and I sighed making her look at me.

"He'll get over it. Mick runs hot. He always has. Once he calms down, everything will be back to normal."

"Yeah, I bet that one sounded more convincing in your head." Sara said and they started a stare off. I rolled my eyes and looked through the book. This looked like it was from his first known form of Kent Nelson. Suddenly Gideon began to beep.

"I'd like to speak to Acting Captain Raymond Palmer." A voice said. We all got up and walked to the screen.

"Ohh. Acting Captain. I like the sound of that.. I'm Captain Palmer. Who are you?" Ray asked the man on the screen.

"I'm the man holding your crew hostage."

"Captain Palmer, I've informed Mr. Valor of the fiery retribution you'll rain down upon him if we are not released immediately." We heard Rip's voice followed by grunting and Rip's face a little visible.

"I'm gonna make this real simple. You surrender your ship, and I'll drop you off unharmed at a place and time of your choosing. You've got 10 seconds to decide." Mr. Valor said and I looked at Leonard.

"Or else what? If you want the Waverider for yourself, there's no way you'll fire on us." Ray said.

"Perhaps, but right now I've got my sights set on your captain's head." He said pulling a gun out.

"Wait, wait wait....okay just give me a chance to negotiate." Suddenly the man started to count down. "Maybe he's bluffing."

"Doesn't feel like it." Leonard said.

"Seven..."

"You don't know Palmer and how he survived the Imperiex onslaught." Suddenly alarms started to blare.

"Uh Gideon?" Sara said as we all started to look around trying to figure out what was going on.

"Captain Hunter programmed me to execute certain protocols in response to specific keywords."

"What does that mean in English?" Leonard asked pissed.

"Strap yourselves in. We are on the move and preparing to fire." We all hurried to our seats, mine next to Leonard, as it had been for a while. Sara was next to me.

The waverider started to shoot at the Acheron.

"What are you doing Gideon?"

"Just a warning shot to let them know we mean business." Gideon said.

"My partner's on that ship." Leonard was getting pissed so I grabbed his leg and he calmed down a little. I was not liking the jerking.

"There's a hull breach in the aft portion of the ship, and the pirates have taken out the telemetry controls." Gideon told us after we were hit.

"Gideon switch to manual." Ray said before taking off his straps and jumped to the captain seat.

"What are you doing?" Kendra asked following him.

"If this is anything like a video game, flying a spaceship." He took control of the ship. I noticed Leonard and Sara undo their straps and I followed. I was thinking through every spell I could use to seal a hole.
