Once we walked back to the bridge everyone was already back there.

"Course plotted for St. Roch, New Orleans." Gideon said.

"St. Roch?" Carter looked confused.

"October 17, 1975."

"I suggest you all strap yourselves in. Ms. Melody my office desk is where you will sit." I nodded and walked into the room he pointed to before he took his seat. "Temporal navigation isn't something one wants to be standing up for."

"Time travel. Cool." I heard Mick say and I laughed. It was cool.

"Some of you may experience some slight discomfort. In very rare instances, there will be some, um bleeding from the eyeballs." Rip said and I stopped laughing.

"Say what now?" I yelled a little scared. I promised Oliver and Nyssa that nothing would happen to me.

"I'm sorry what?" Kendra said at the same time as me.

"The human body is used to time unfolding linearly." Rip said as though that was a comfort.

"Jackson I'm so glad you're awake. I didn't want you to miss this." Stein said happily and I rolled my eyes knowing full well Jax didn't want to come. I decided to drown out everyone and just listen to the ship, it sounded like it was purring. It was a very comforting sound.

It didn't take more than a 20 minutes it felt like before we touched down. I unfastened myself and slowly stood up. While Ray stood I saw Mick vomit.

"Oh, I should have mentioned it before. Nausea is one of the side effects of time travel, along with..." Ray fell. "Vertigo."

"I can't see." Stein said and Rip walked over to him.

"And temporary blindness. Oh it should only last a minute. After all that was a mere jaunt. The further back in time you go, the worse the side effects." He looked at Stein while I walked over to Sara. "Better?"

"It's all relative."

"Good." With that Rip walked to the main console in the middle of the room.

"I can't believe you kidnapped me." Jax said to Stein. I had to hold in my laugh. "Hey I want to go home." Rip didn't look up from the screen.

"Good news then. 2016 will be around in, uh...41 years." He turned to me, Sara, Mick, and Snart. "You four feel free to make yourselves comfortable back here on the ship, while the rest of you are coming with me to find Professor Boardman." He turned to leave when Mick spoke up.

"You're benching us?"

"I thought we were a team." Sara said and Rip walked back over to us.

"This mission doesn't require your particular skill set...yet." Rip added.

"Meaning you don't need anyone killed, maimed, robbed, or whatever little miss blondie does." Snart said.

"Precisely." He smiled at us.

"Sure it's a good idea to leave these two unsupervised on a time machine?" Ray asked looking at Sara to watch me I guess.

"Hey haircut! Deafness wasn't one of the side effects." Mick said in regards to Ray.

"We better hurry up. Professor Boardman will die in....less than 24 hours."

"What's the point in cutting it so close?" Ray asked and Stein answered instead of Rip.

"Because if he's destined to die, then he doesn't have a timeline for us to disrupt, and his impact on the future will be minimal. How brilliant."

"And depressing." Kendra added before continuing. "How does he die?"

"Uh...he's found dead in his university from unknown causes. Come on." Rip started to leave when Stein looked to Jax.

"Are you coming?"

"I'll stay put."

"You'd rather stay with them and Ms. Melody?"

"They didn't drug me."

"Point taken." And with that Stein left.

"Then there were 5." I whispered making Sara smirk.

"I don't know about you guys but I'm going to look around." With that Snart took off to go check out the ship while Mick turned on the tv.

"Anything good on?" I asked walking over to him.

"Doesn't look like it." I sighed and went to sit down. "That thing said you're Nightingale?" I nodded and he laughed. "You don't seem as strong as you use to."

"I've never been strong, just a great shot." I told him truthfully and he laughed again. "What?"

"Nothing birdie." I smiled and he looked at me. "What?"

"Is that what you're going to call me?"

"Birdie? Yeah why?" I smiled and shook my head making him laugh this time.

I sighed sitting next to Snart while Sara was pacing. Mick was still watching tv.

"Why does this stupid station play nothing but reruns?" He asked and Jax groaned.

"Don't even bother trying to explain." Jax told Sara when she was about to speak.

"Am I the only one on this ship who could really use a drink?" Sara asked and I smiled at her. "I say we go get weird in the '70s." Snart spun around and almost hit me.

"Excellent idea."

"I got the perfect outfit." Sara smiled wide at me. "Are you staying here Roni?"

"Nah I'll come with."

"Perhaps Captain Hunter was unclear with his instructions to remain on board." Gideon said as the four of us were walking away.

"Shut it, metal mouth." Mick said and Jax was following us. I decided to stay behind to see what Snart would say.

"Oh..you're not quite ready to run with this crew. Sorry kid." Snart told him before starting to walk again.

"Wait you're just gonna leave me here?"

"I said I'd take care of you." I stifled down a laughed when Jax scoffed as we walked out. Like Sara I pulled on my costume but left off the mask.

"How are we going to get to the bar from here?" I asked looking around the grass.

"Roni, why don't you fly and steal a car?" Sara asked smiling at me.

"I can't break into a car."

"Great a princess with morals." Snart said and I scoffed.

"She doesn't know how." Sara came to my defense and I nodded making her pull me into a hug. "Alright carry me away." I laughed and did as she commanded. "Whoa! You get this view every time you fly?"

"Yeah...sometimes it's great, others it's lonely." I answered and flew down into the first alley I saw. "There's a car straight ahead. I'll create a distraction for you and meet you guys at the bar."

"How will you know where we will be?" She asked and I smiled handing her my necklace. "Oh okay. Be careful."

"Always." With that I walked away and into the middle of the street. "Come one come all for a magic trick." All the kids gathered around followed by their parents and other adults. "Watch as a make myself levitate." I raised off the ground a little and made sure the parents saw strings. I loved creating illusions and entertaining kids.

"Whoa how cool!" Once I was sure Sara was gone I did some more tricks for the kids before they all dispersed. Smiling I walked into an alley and flew into the air. I smiled as the sun hit my face since I was flying with my back to the ground. It didn't take long to find the bar. Once I walked in I regretted it.

"Seriously?" I asked watching the three of them fighting people. I groaned and walked to the bar, avoiding any damage. "1975 ytnewt rallod llib raeppa."(175 twenty dollar bill appear) I whispered into my wallet and pulled out a twenty. I smiled and sat at the bar. "Whiskey, if you got it."

"Sure thing." He came back with a draft and I drank it down fast. "I'd be careful, lots of guys in here would take advantage of a girl like you."

"Thankfully I have a high tolerance then. How much?"

"$2."

"Could I have another and a beer?" He nodded and got me my drinks. I handed him the 20. "Keep the change because of how sweet you were."

"Thank you ma'am." I smiled drank my whiskey and then took my beer bottle with me to the jukebox. Once I finished drinking it Sara, Snart, and Mick finally noticed me.

"Hi." I said smiling.

"You didn't get hurt right?" Sara asked rushing over to me.

"Nope. Just enjoying the show. I wanna go shopping." I answered before walking out. Snart, Sara, and Mick joined me a few minutes later.

"Shopping? How we're broke." Sara said pointing to the three of them.

"You are. I'm not." I laughed before walking to the car I know Sara stole. "Now do you want food or not?" They followed me and drove to the local supermarket. "1975 ytnewt rallod llib semit ruof raeppa."(1975 twenty dollar bill times four appear) I pulled into my wallet and smiled handing each of them a twenty.

"How did you do that?" Sara asked and I smiled.

"I always carry around money. My spell changes it so that the money I have is changed to match the year I say. Now if you excuse me I noticed a lack of sweets on the Waverider." With that I walked into the store and grabbed a cart before walking down the isles.

"You should be careful doing magic in front of them." Sara said when she caught up with me.

"I'll try." I answered as I stuffed my cart full of chips, chocolate, soda, and lollipops.

We were now driving back to the ship and I was eating my Hershey bar.

"Seriously you can just make money appear?" Mick asked for the sixth time.

"No Mick she can't. She changes it to match the year as to not raise too much suspension." Snart answered and Mick nodded. When we were coming towards the ship I saw a man.

"Mick floor it and hit that guy." He nodded and did what I said. I smiled as we got out. "llA doof ot eht pihs."(All food to the ship) The food vanished and Snart smirked at me. "What I don't want to forget it." He shook his head.

"We go out for one lousy drink, and you guys somehow manage to pick a fight with Boba Fett." Snart said while powering up his gun.

"Roni get to the ship." Sara said and I sighed. "Now!"

"Alright going." I started to run for the ship. When Ray and Firestorm flew out and started shooting at the guy. I was about to get hit when the guy ran at me and pushed me under the ship, out of harm's way. I blinked confused but didn't question it as I got on board. Once everyone was on board we flew off.

"Are you okay?" Sara said rushing over to me.

"I'm fine, other than my pride. Sara I could have helped." I said and she scoffed.

"Doing what? You didn't have a bow or arrows."

"My voice Sara!" She rolled her eyes and I decided to just remove myself from the situation and headed to my room. After a while Rip came to my room. "Hey Rip."

"Listen I apologize for lying to you." I looked at him and he sighed. "I chose you all because you pose the least risk to the timeline."

"However?"

"However I do need your help, but I won't force you."

"I'll stay, if you think I'll be useful...no one seems to find me useful." I whispered and he smiled at me.

"Of course. I know all about your abilities. Trust me soon you will be useful." I nodded and he left back to the bridge. I decided to follow him. He was messing with a panel on the wall. "What do you think Gideon?"

"I calculate a less than 6% likelihood that they decide to go on with the mission." Gideon answered making me laugh.

"I meant the repairs." Rip said rolling his eyes.

"And there has been another unfortunate consequence of Chronos's attack. Care to hear about it?"

"Not really." Rip said focusing on the repairs. Kendra and Carter came in from the MedBay.

"He's gone." Rip stopped what he was doing and I walked closer to them. "Our son...or our son from our previous life. It's all too confusing." Kendra said, the sadness was rolling off of her.

"I'm very sorry." Rip said and I smiled softly.

"Actually, you don't get the blame for this." Kendra said. "If I hadn't insisted on bringing him back here, he might have died peacefully, in his sleep maybe."

"Don't torture yourself with recriminations. One of the great lessons of time travel is that many things cannot be changed. Time wants to happen. Chronos, even Vandal, won't be the only enemy we face." Everyone else joined us in the bridge. "Very often, it will be time itself."

"Whether it wants to happen or not, we're gonna change time, erase Savage's future, and earn our rightful place in history."

"Dr. Palmer is correct. We may not be legends in your time, Captain, but we are going to decide our own fates." Stein said and everyone agreed with him.

"I don't give a damn about being a legend, as long as we end Savage once and for all." Carter agreed to continue with the mission. I smiled and Rip nodded.

"I can get down with that." Jax said as Stein looked to Mick and Snart.

"And our malcontents?"

"I like killing people." Mick said smirking.

"We're in. For now." Snart said smirking as well.

"So how do we find this guy?" Sara asked.

"Professor Boardman had a theory about that. I've already had Gideon plot a course." With that we were off.
