A possible date
Oz sat with Damien at lunch, who sat alone for once. Most people decided to go out to eat, so there were plenty of seats.
"So why?" Oz asked out of the blue.
"What?" Damien replied, twirling a match in his hands.
"Why offer to take me to prom, when you have a soulmate?" Oz questioned.
Damien's eyes seemed to jump, "Well, my soulmate's kinda lame. And they live far away, so they can't take me."
"That doesn't make sense, you can go anywhere in minutes with your access to hell. Are they really that lame?" Oz raised a brow, though that did seem like a very Damien thing to do, Oz couldn't be cooler than the demon's soulmate, could they? But if Damien's soulmate was human, it would make sense. Humans were killed on sight around here, so Damien couldn't bring his soulmate if they were human. It made sense, and Oz believed he discovered one of Damien's secrets.
"Lay off." The demon growled, only cementing Oz's theory.
"Fine, what do I need to do for us to be officially going to prom together?" Oz asked, raising his eyebrows.
"More boldness and fun. Then we'll see." Damien winked, pausing his twirling fingers for a second to look at Oz.
The boy looked decent. He was dressed nicely, in a yellow cardigan, and his eyes were bright, literally glowing white. It was suprising no one left their soulmate for him yet.
After a few more quick exchanges, the two went their separate ways, Damien going to find Liam and Vera, and Oz to find Vicky, Brian, and Amira.
Oz met with the group at the front of the school as they usually do.
"Hey, everyone!" Amira shouted, swaying her hips.
"Wassup?" Vicky jumped onto the cement.
"Where are we going?" Oz asked.
"We could go outside, Polly said she's gonna throw a party." Vicky explained.
"Well, Liam wanted me to go to class, for some reason." Brian grumbled.
"I have to go to the gym." Amira shrugged.
"Alright I guess it'll just be lil' ol' me." Vicky laughed, turning around to head off to her location.
"Wait," Heads turned Oz's direction, not because the sound came from that direction, the voice was in their minds, but because they all knew his tone, "can I come with you?" Oz asked.
"Sure, but why?" The Frankenstein girl questioned, the other two of their group running off to do what they said they would.
Oz sighed, pulling out his phone and showing his stats. "Yikes, you're fun is at five." Vicky gasped.
Oz did his best to role his eyes at her reaction, it wasn't that bad was it? Then again, Oz was sure her fun was like twenty. It had to be to end up with Polly as a soulmate. "Yeah, come on. We can do something about that."
Oz followed the ditz blindly, which probably wasn't a good idea, but hey, he needed to let loose. So, when the two got outside, they climbed the tree, to get to Polly, who claimed she floated up. Though it was terrifying, it gave Oz a thrill, which earned him two fun. After getting Polly on solid ground, Oz walked around, dancing some, drinking things he shouldn't, just hanging out. The day was soon over, Oz gained some of the stats he needed and decided to walk back home.
Unfortunately on that walk, some creature decided to jump him, the slayer.
"Hey, you freak! You ready to die!" She shouted loudly.
"I'm not in the mood." The personification of fear sighed, walking past her.
"What's the matter, afraid you can't beat me, soulless? I heard monsters without soulmates are weaker, let's see if that's true." The slayer pulled on her gloves, getting ready to attack. Unfortunately for her, she didn't have enough time. Oz flicked his wrist back at her, sending shadows to surround her. The slayer was caught in ropes of pitch, then her face was consumed in a bubble of black. You could hear her muffled screams from a mile away.
Oz paused the nightmare when he felt a hand on his shoulder. It was Damien, smiling like he just came from one of Polly's exclusive parties. "Are you doing that?" He gasped.
"Maybe, what's it to you?" Oz snarled.
"Dude, is that in anyway flammable?" Damien asked, his expression changing to one you would find on a child during Christmas.
"Let me disconnect myself then you can set fire to it. No, idiot, I am not going to let you set fire to me." The eldritch horror hissed. "What brought you here anyway?"
"I heards screams and wanted to join in." Damien smirked.
"Well, you can have her, I need to get home anyway." Oz rolled his eyes.
"Or we could do some arson and destruction together." The demon proposed.
"Not now, I need to get home. Maybe next Friday, does that sound good to you?" Oz stated.
"It's a date." Damien claimed, the smirk on his face growing as he watched Oz blush a little. Oz was so flustered he nearly forgot to let the slayer go.
