The bright red, white, and blue lights flashing in the darkness makes my eyesight burn as I sit on top of the front of my SUV waiting for an order from my boss. Cali Winchester my best friend and partner and crime stands next to me staring out into the woods.

"So when are you gonna find a guy Willa?" Cali said in her sweet southern accent.

"Are we really talking about this Cali? Now when we are at a crime scene?" I asked rolling my eyes as I look at her. Her blonde hair pulled back into a braid to the side on her right shoulder, her hands in her black blazer as she tries to keep them warm in the August chill.

"Why yes of course Willa, you're 25 years old a grown woman who needs to settle down eventually. You can't keep working your ass off the rest of your life." Cali sighed out staring at me with those green eyes of hers with specs of gold indicating that she's a Fae. And the Fae are brutally honest with everyone they come across. It's in their nature that they can't lie. If they lie they're dead.

"I know Cali. And I'm not looking, after the last relationship I had I'm not looking to get into another one. I don't wanna get hurt." I said putting my foot down on this topic. I didn't wanna talk about what happened with my last relationship, the only reason I took on the job from New York City to fly out to Alaska. It wasn't because I was running away from my issues, it was an opportunity that I couldn't just pass up.

And there's so many supernaturals hiding out here too, Alaska is a curious state to be in, never know what's out there.

I sighed as I looked back at the crime scene yellow taped lined the area to keep unwanted people out of it. People who called us in stood to the side watching. We should be taking care of them making sure they move along since it's serious business. But people won't listen, they love to gossip about the latest thing and spread what they think they know about something they don't know.

"Miss louis! Can I have a word with you?" I heard a familiar voice call my name and I turned back to the police cars and saw the chief of police Ryder Woods.

He's a big man with muscles that could crush you. His eyes glowing in the dark in his amber glow that you see every now and then with emotion. His brown hair tousled in away that would make you think he's brought his hand through his hair out of frustration.

"Of course Mr. woods." I said hopping off the car top and making my way over to the group of investigators.

"I want you to take a look at the body since you seem to sense things about these auras or whatever you like to call em. You can see things much better than any normal human can't you miss Louis?" Ryder said cocking his head at me.

I nodded slowly. I had this odd power about me that makes me able to see beyond what any normal human can see. I can see auras of people, like their feelings if I turn on my third eye.

"But why would you want me to see the aura of a dead body? It's going to be grey and dark. Nothing noting there." I shrugged. It's true. If there's a dead body or if your in a cemetery anything you see there will just be grey and dark and ugly. Unless someone leaves a print on a fresh dead body then there is something to find.

"I know that. But I just want to know if the killer showed any sort of print, or marking or whatever that we can't see. She was bitten we know that but by what. vampires? Werewolves? Faes?" Ryder said listing off certain supernaturals.

I sighed "I'll see what I can find."

Ryder nodded looking pleased. I turned over to my car and found some latex gloves and a flash light in my glove compartment. And I turned towards the woods and felt that Cali was trailing behind me.

"so what'd the boss want?" Cali asked

"Well he wants me to use my Third eye to see if I can find what no other ordinary eye can see. Though I can make no promises that there will be something." I sighed out. The leaves and the twigs breaking under our feet as we made our way to the crime scene. A body bag is what greeted me with a couple of other investigators scouting the area for any other clues.

Once I got closer I opened the body bag to reveal the girl. Already decaying and bruised into a purply blue sight. Not a pleasant sight to see. Only the blood didn't smell quite right at all. I'd have to figure out what it is. Taking the time to close my eyes I breathed in sharply to try and open my third eye. Once I felt the course change in my body I opened my eyes to see what was once a world of color only to see black and white.

Except for the different colored auras of every surrounding. Something was off about the body. It wasn't grey and dark like I thought it would be. Like normal cases I've been on when there was a dead body.

"What the fuck is this wizardry." I cursed under my breath.

"What is it Willa?" Cali asked

"Her aura is still colored. Like she's not fully dead yet. But there's no pulse no movement. And she definitely has the smell of decaying dead body." I sighed out.

"Is this a new sort of paranormal or supernatural?"

"I have no idea."

The aura color was blue. Which meant she was sad and lost. Like she died and couldn't find her way back to her body. This could be a new sort of paranormal, a next level of necromancy. This could be nothing, or it could be everything to some dark shit going on here.

No traces of fingerprints, no traces of teeth marks like Ryder reported. She just looks drained of her soul. Yeah that's what it is.

"Shit, this is unlike any case I've seen before." I cursed

"Yo chief! You might wanna come over here!" I hollered over my shoulder to Ryder. Who I hear coming up to stand behind me. It startled me a bit because I'm concentrated in my third eye but I calm myself down that he only came over because I called him over.

"What's up Miss Louis?" He asked Practically in my ear as he says that. I cursed, I could smell the pines and the water of the wilderness of his musk as if he's been in the forest all day.

Which he probably has considering he's a werewolf, and could probably pick up my beating heart.

God damn get yourself together girl.

"Well, you know how I said earlier when I thought that the body will be dark and grey like normal dead bodies are?" I said

"Do you normally see bodies everyday and say it so casually?" He asked

I rolled my eyes "it's my job Chief woods."

"Fine, go on."

"As I was saying the body turned out that it was a blue aura. Which means that she could be lost or sad. Like she can't find her way back." I said

"Lost or sad? How can she be lost?" He asked.

"In the paranormal meaning, she could just be lost trying to find peace or a way home to a peaceful place like heaven. Her doorway to peace. But that's not what's happening with her. She's just trying to find her way to her body, if you look closely she looks hollow and lifeless, like she's been sucked dry out of her soul."

"Not like a Vampire that's for sure, more like a reaper."

Once I said that Ryder's eyes went wide and he cursed and dragged his hand down his face.

"You can't be fucking serious. I thought reapers were done. No longer a supernatural. Or paranormal. Or anything for that matter."

"It's the only conclusion I've come up with. Someone has collected her soul at the wrong time and wrong place. She wasn't ready to be collected. It's why she's still wandering. She could be very much alive." I said even though it is confirmed shes decaying like any normal dead body would and no pulse or no movement.

I don't like the sound of out of controlled Reapers. This is what happened the last time Reapers showed up, a reaper lost control of trying to collect souls and the council killed all of them off. But maybe just maybe, there's still some hiding out there and wanted to try and collect a soul but collected a live one instead.

"What are we gonna do?" I asked

"I have no fucking idea, call up the paranormal experts, the witches anyone who knows shit about this type of stuff we'll take her back to the compound. And have her get an autopsy report even though I don't think we need one." Ryder growled out.

I nodded to him and I closed my eyes to release my third eye and everything turned back to colors blasting back into my vision and then darkness.
