Get Out
***
Jade's POV
I opened my eyes lazily and rubbed my face a couple of times, internally cursing at my pounding headache. I examined the room before I got up, and that's when I saw him.
My jaw dropped to the ground.
"Motherf -"
The door of my room opened slowly and Liz tapped her head in. "Hey J-" she trailed off with a gasp as soon as she witnessed the scene, her mouth wide open.
I pursed my lips together aggressively and threw daggers at Liz with my eyes, frantically motioning her to zip it. She cautiously backed up and closed the door.
"Shit," I mouthed.
I got out of bed and quietly and threw on some clothes, shooting the occasional glance at Jesse.
What the hell was all that motioning about? Spending time with Jesse was seriously starting to affect me, and not in a good way. To say I was panicking would be a huge understatement.
I peeked at him one last time and slipped out of my room.
Liz's mouth was still open when I closed the door behind me. "Did you and-"
I don't think I've ever scowled at someone as hard as I scowled at Liz right then. "Not a single word, Liz."
She raised her eyebrows, pretended to close an imaginary zipper along her lips and threw away the key.
"I should've stopped befo-" I trailed off into my thoughts. "Shit!"
Liz stood there totally entertained. "Oh, how the tables have turned." A snort escaped from her mouth.
"You're really enjoying this, aren't you?"
She held in a laugh. "I really am," Liz tried to say with a straight face. She obviously failed.
"Well, I'm glad you find my quandary amusing."
Liz giggled quietly and shot me a smirk I knew too damn well. Ignoring my death glare, she asked the million dollar question. "So how was he?"
For the first time in a while I felt powerless to control the blush that was trying to creep its way up to my cheeks. "I'm not answering that."
Liz' hooted. "Wait, does that mean it wasn't bad?" She crossed her arms and tilted her head. I saw her face light up with curiosity before she spoke again. "How bi-"
"Get. Out."
Liz waddled off towards her room, having too much of a blast and making way too much noise on her way there.
"Thank god Jesse's a heavy sleeper," I muttered to myself.
And that's something I never thought I would say.
I was dreading going back into that room. How the hell am I supposed to act in this type of situation?
I reached out for door handle before a thought made me stop abruptly. My hand hovered over it for a second. Maybe I should just not go in there, altogether. So I went down to the kitchen in search for something to eat.
Food always helped.

As I was trudging down the stairs, my phone clinged, revealing a message that got me even more revved up than I already was.
Unknown: Are you going to the party on Friday?
Me: Great, you're back.
Unknown: Can you blame me? I'm sure you've wanted to get revenge on someone at some point.
Me: Are you going to tell me who you are?
Unknown: Not yet.
Me: Then have a good life.
I was so done with his games at this point that I blocked the number once and for all. I was not about to waste any more of my time on pathetic attention seekers trying to play the mystery card.

Jesse's POV
I woke up to the sound of fumbling coming from the corridor.
Where am I?
My body stiffened and I sat up straight on the bed the second I realized what was going on.
It had all been a dream.
"Shit, shit, shit..." I hissed, peeking under the sheets. "Shit!"
No wonder I was missing that striking panic feeling, none of that was real. I didn't know whether to feel relieved or disappointed, though, which was wrong in so many levels.
It just felt so real... I wanted it to be real.
I guess god was finally being thoughtful because Jade wasn't here this time around.
For once, reality beats my subconscious mind.
I wrapped the sheets around my waist and tried to get up and away from that bed but my foot got tangled in them, causing my body to thud loudly against the ground. I facepalmed.
Never mind.
I looked around me frantically, praying to god no one heard that and quietly started hunting my clothes down around her room.
Jade's room... I - , I shook my head to brush off that thought.
You shouldn't mistake "quietly" with "in a calm and collected manner". I was full blown hysterical. I put on my underwear and jumped into my pants, then madly stumbled around anything and everything trying to find my shirt.
C'mon, where did I put it?
My soul suddenly fell to the floor. "She did not," I whispered. "She wouldn-"
Realization slapped me in the face almost as hard as Jade did at that party. She totally would. Of course she would!
As if this wasn't already embarrassing enough on its own. I picked up my phone and dialed my mom after I saw all the missed calls and messages she'd left me.
"Hey, Mo-"
"Where the hell have you been!"
A giant lump formed in my throat. "I'm sorry my phone died, I, uh... Stayed over at Tyler's."
"You had me worried sick!"
"I'm sorry, Mom."
"I want you home ASAP. Is that clear?"
"Crystal," I answered.
I slowly slid my phone in my pocket after she hung up.
It just kept getting better by the second. I just needed to get out of there the faster, the better.
I fearfully made my way out the room and down the stairs, the place looked trashed. Jade was standing in the kitchen with her back to me, I assumed she was making herself some breakfast . And, of course, she was wearing my shirt.
"You didn't think I might want to... I don't know, use it?" I asked.
Jade whipped her head back to look at me, then down to the shirt. She leaned back on the counter, a smirk forming on her lips.
"I can take it off if you want."
"No!" I yawped.
She was living her best life right now.
I cleared my throat. "I think I'm good," I said. "But it would be nice if I could wear something."
She sat down and drifted her stare towards the stairs, which made me instinctively turn around. "Liz."
Liz's head popped out almost immediately.
"Could you grab Jesse a t shirt?" Jade sounded slightly bored. "If you don't mind us interrupting your show," she mumbled under her breath.
Liz glanced at me and nodded, to which I answered with and awkward wave. "That'd be great," I told her.
"Sure." She disappeared again.
"You know," Jade started as she played with her cereal. "I didn't take you as a boxers kind of guy."
Well, that's just lovely.
I couldn't help but watch her closely. I didn't quite know how to reply to that and, I'm not going to lie, I felt mildly entranced for a second.
An innocent look fell on her face before she raised her eyebrows "Do you want something to eat?"
I narrowed my eyes at her in suspicion.
Is Jade really being nice?
"Or was the floor of my room already enough for you?"
I'm never praying to god for anything, ever again.
My face flushed red. "I'm glad at least one of us hasn't lost their will to live."
Jade went back to chewing silently on her cereal with her default smirk. Her big hazel eyes were truly bewitching as they gazed right into mine.
Liz flew down the stairs with a plain black t shirt. I sighed in relief when I saw it was a regular sized one - I was afraid it was going to be too tight or too short for me.
I took it from her hand and quickly started throwing it on. "Thanks," I mumbled through the fabric.
"Yup." Liz nodded and looked at me expectantly. "Anytime."
This is so awkward.
"So, I'm going to head out," I said.
Jade tilted her head to the side. "Don't you want your shirt back?"
"You can keep it." I was already making my way to the door. "Or better yet, burn it."
She let out a slightly contained laugh.
Liz stared at me with a wolfish grin on her face before waving me goodbye. And with that I was out of their house. So this is what the walk of shame feels like...
Wrestling with my thoughts, I made my way to the nearest bus stop. I didn't like where this was going, and had already made up my mind.
I needed to stop myself before screwing everything up.
