Chapter 6: Delinquents Disbanded
The day after Rin’s death, Kinzie removed the body from the basement, cleaned up the chair, disinfected everything to get the smell out, and then got rid of the body by tossing it in a dumpster not too far from her house. She stayed in a disguise while doing so, wearing her oversized white coat and a pair of jeans. She took the gloves she wore when getting rid of the body home and threw them into a plastic bag for her to burn later on. Once she took care of the problem, she stayed at home and rested since it was, luckily, a Saturday. Checking her phone, she didn’t exactly receive any messages since, well, she killed the few friends she had. She decided a nice walk through the city would be good for her. She put on a shirt, some shorts, her glasses, a pair of sneakers, and her thigh-high socks. She also wore her coat since around this time of year, it was pretty chilly. Once outside, she locked the door, leaving everything in the house turned off. She walked into the main city area, where unlike the usual, it was fairly peaceful. Not many pedestrians were around, so Kinzie was able to move around freely. She also had money to spend since her parents left her quite a large amount before disappearing suddenly, a week before the school year started. Sure, her actions may be unforgivable and horrible when it came to love, but other than that, she was a nice person. She didn’t have any sort of illness, nor was she subjected to any mental trauma. Before she had encountered Matt, she was merely a shy girl, not good with communicating with others. Kinzie walked around, the warmth of her coat battling the coldness of the atmosphere. Her violent side had disappeared for now, as she had gained a slight ounce of humanity. She walked into a nearby coffee shop to get a caramel macchiato, her favorite kind. She took it with her as she kept walking, admiring the sights of the city. She stayed outside for most of the day, simply enjoying what the city had to offer. By the time the clock had struck five in the afternoon, she decided it was time to go home, and walked. Back in the house, she went and made dinner for herself after taking a shower and getting dressed, and brought it in front of the television, having put her pillows and blanket on the couch after planning to sleep there tonight. Settling down, she switched through the channels until she found one she liked, and started eating. It was times like this that showed she was still a person inside, locked behind her murderous side. As time passed, she started getting sleepy, but since she was under the blanket, it was perfectly fine. She put down her food once she was done, and eventually dozed off to the sounds of the television.
That night, a garbage worker checked the dumpster Kinzie threw the body in. Once they found Rin’s corpse inside, they alerted who they were with, and quickly reported it to the police. They rushed quickly to the site, as the workers’ description fit a missing person report they had received a while back when Rin didn’t come home from school. Her parents were panicking that night, and once they were able to file a report, they rushed to do it. And now, two weeks after their daughter was abducted, they found her. The phone call they received about it horrified them, and it wasn’t long before it was put on the news. An investigation was launched, just like the one they did about five months prior to this when Emily went missing. But this time, they had the body of the victim, so they were able to make the investigation last a month. Yet, just like last time, it yielded no results. During the time when they had the investigation, what was strange was that they didn’t do in inside the school, rather, they took it to the actual town it was in. They went around houses, inspecting them and checking for evidence. When they came to Kinzie’s house, she was surprisingly able to keep herself calm during it, letting the police do their investigation. She didn’t lead them to the basement, which they didn’t even notice was there. No evidence turned up that linked her to the murder, and they thanked Kinzie for letting them check. Once they were gone, Kinzie went off to do her business as she had other things to do, namely some school projects. Meanwhile, in Matt’s house, he was shocked when he heard about Rin’s death. He knew that she had gone missing a while back, but only thought she had gone off to a vacation or something. So, it was a complete surprise when he heard that she had died. He tried to contact the rest of their group, but they didn’t respond for unknown reasons. Matt quickly took to making a panicked recording of himself, just to help him calm his nerves. He sat back down on the couch after pacing around quickly, putting his head in his hands. He shook himself back to awareness so he could focus. He thought that since the police were involved, maybe they could take care of this. So, rather than worry himself about all of this affecting him, he tried to relax and avoid thinking about it, looking at his bat leaning against the wall. On said wall was a family sword, passed down to him from his father. He hailed from a clan of Scottish swordsmen, even though he was just half-scot, the other half Japanese. Both his parents were off on an extended vacation to see if they could repair their marriage. By the texts he received from his parents bi-weekly, it seemed to be working, but they wouldn’t be home until the end of the school year. At least it was a thought Matt could use to keep things safe. He went off to rest as it was Monday tomorrow, but he wasn’t aware of what was going to happen there…
The next day, once Matt got to the campus, he went over to his group to ask why they didn’t respond when he tried to contact them. They just looked at him with what felt like disgust. “Hey, why aren’t you guys talking to me? I’ve been trying to tell you guys about what happened!” Matt exclaimed, but the others just looked at each other, nodding. “Matt… We already know about what happened to Rin.” One of them said, approaching him while the other four backed him up. “And… we think you were behind it.” Matt was shocked when he heard that, since it was completely out of the blue. How the hell would his friends think he was Rin’s killer? “We don’t know for sure, but we’ve decided to take things into our own hands.” Another one of the delinquents said, as they got dangerously close to Matt, who was stepping backward. “W-what do you mean?” He said, a tiny hint of fear in his voice. “We mean… we’re going to prevent any more.” The first member said before throwing a punch at him, making him pull back. When he looked back at them, his resistance to avoid a fight disappeared, replaced with fury. He threw back a punch at the other guy, knocking out three teeth. A second tried to punch him, but Matt blocked it in midair, grabbing his arm, elbowing it to break it before kicking him in the crotch, forcing him down. He ducked under an incoming hook, and kneed a third delinquent in the stomach before head-butting him. He grabbed said person’s arm and used him to block an incoming punch, before throwing him down and tackling the other puncher to the ground and going ham on his face, throwing punch after punch at him. Another delinquent tried to take him by surprise while he was beating up the fourth one, but Matt quickly moved out of the way to dodge.
Two of the delinquents were still standing, one of them the one that got his teeth knocked out. Matt quickly thought of what to do, moving in to take down the other one while the toothless delinquent went off somewhere else. Matt kicked the guy who stayed squarely in the chest, forcing him back down to the ground where Matt kicked him again over and over before knocking him out with a kick to the head. The delinquent that left before came back with a baseball bat, and swung at Matt. He dodgerolled out of the way, and as the delinquent swung at him again, he ducked under it and once he was close to the guy, delivered a swift and painful uppercut, taking out eight teeth, breaking his nose, and knocking him out. Matt stood up, triumphant. He raised his fist in the air, before putting it back down from exhaustion. “Man, guess that training from dad really helped me out…” He said to himself. He looked around and spotted a student who saw the entire ordeal. Said student quickly went over to him, but strangely enough, she wasn’t shocked. She was merely surprised. “Y-you… did you manage to do all that?” The orange-haired girl asked. “Yeah…” Matt replied, putting his hands on his knees to rest somewhat. The girl put her hand on her mouth, before removing it and smirking. “Well done! I have to admit, I’m impressed how you took them all on.” She said, clapping. “I’m Raibaru, leader of the Martial Arts club. Seeing as how you, well, probably aren’t gonna be considered a delinquent anymore…” Raibaru said, pointing at the downed delinquents, one of them bleeding out onto the grass. “How about joining us? We’ve got a spot open.” She offered. “Uhm… I’ll think about it. For now, I kinda need to think about whatever just happened…” Matt said, giving her a thumbs up. “Great! I’ll let you decide. Have fun!” Raibaru said before leaving Matt to deal with his own devices. He sat down on the grass, trying to think things through. So not only is their leader dead, Matt just beat up the rest of them. Only thing that’d make it more obvious that the delinquents aren’t a thing anymore would be them just telling everyone about it. Matt shook himself awake before leaving, looking around to make sure no one’s gonna try to stop him. After all, while the others had pretty bad reputations, Matt was still fine in everyone else’s eyes, and so was Rin. The other five were just troublemakers, so they had infamy to their names. No matter how you viewed it, the delinquents were simply no more. Looks like Matt’s gonna have to figure out where he’ll go to now…
