we're all privileged, some more privileged than others. I'm privileged enough to own this account, broadcast things across the world, I have food on my table and although mom sometimes struggles, I have a pretty good life. I thrift shop not because I need to but because I want to (and I'm broke at all times because I don't work despite my age.)

But I go to a good school and I can take my AP classes and pay for my AP exams with no worry, I'm whiny at times but my life isn't all that bad.

Now that I've admitted my privilege, let me check some of our friends who don't know exactly what white privilege is.

here's a thought: erase everything i've said above. Eiffel it down to the bone and put us on the same financial playing field... make us both dirt poor.

minorities make up about 26% of america's population, right? and we make up about 40% of the workforce. Even with us up and coming, a lot of people still want to point the finger at us being lazy.

now, erase working. we only make up 26% of america for one thing. that's your privilege that your ancestors come here and killed off almost every native tribe and made yourselves at home and now you think you have the right to say "go back to your country" babe, go back to england and ireland and wherever else you came from.

but hey, i don't wanna send people back, you started it.

when you go on ancestry. com, you get records or your actual ancestors dating back to God knows when. you see that you're i don't know 98% european and then within that, you can see exactly how much of each you are and know exactly what parts of europe and what people conceived your oldest relatives.

we don't have that privilege.

for example, black people: slavery which wiped out a lot of our records and people and gave them knew names and didn't document where you took them from so we only know that we are african and american.

i digress.

moving onto a list of white privileges:
1. every skin and hair tool and/or scrub is catered towards you. and those that aren't are expensive as hell. (do you understand how much money of mine goes to coconut oil and leave-ins?)
2. you can simply 'forget' about your history when mine plagues me. slavery was oh so long ago.
3. you're taught your actual history in schools (THIS BITCH CAME AT ME WITH "WE DON'T CHOOSE THE CURRICULUM," LIKE DID I SAY YOU DID?)
4. the language of america is your fucking language from your fucking country.
5. you think that columbus discovered amerikkka.
6. you're not perceived as bad before someone meets you and your men aren't dying out in these streets for no damn reason.
7. black lives matter is about to be listed as a terrorist organization yet the KKK isn't.
8. dylann roof. (everything that happened in that situation)
9. you can complain about being excluded from oppression.
10. you are mostly financially better off considering the fact that your ancestors brought you above everyone else and pushed us down to the lowest of the low.

you had a head start... if you take into consideration our actual history, despite slavery, me as a black girl wasn't technically equal to you until the late 70s maybe. and even now, if you ain't straight, male, and white, you don't matter.

WHITE PRIVILEGE IS THAT ALTHOUGH YOU HAVE PROBLEMS, THEY DO NOT STEM FROM BEING WHITE. WHITE PRIVILEGE IS SYSTEMATIC, NO ONE IS BLAMING YOU FOR BEING WHITE BUT WE ARE BLAMING YOU FOR NOT OWNING UP TO YOUR PRIVILEGE AND TRYING TO CHANGE THINGS.
