06. "not how i pictured them."
STOP WHITEWASHING MY CHARACTERS.
people of color do exist, ya know.
for further knowledge: people have being trying to change emerson's race in psychopath and benji's race in open and i'm not okay with this.
6.
okay you might pull up the fact that i got pissy that people were mad at the Harry Potter play that made hermione black. like i'm so mad that people wanna erase people of color, jk rowling never gave a hint to her being white in fact, she made it seem like hermione was a person of color... i digress.
getting back to the actual point: I MAKE MY CHARACTERS THE RACE THEY ARE FOR A REASON. not everyone's white and i have to show this because in reality, it's not always gonna be the shy little blonde girl or boy. nope, nu uh. white people aren't the only ones getting love in this club.
if we're being honest... changing my characters to barbra palvin don't work for a number of reasons even if we're not talking about race because
A: she's too old to be in high school
and even if she was young enough, there are so many hints to my characters being black, Jesus. Jesus save them all. i'm about to blow up, i swear.
don't even get me started on people defaulting to white people but to blatantly look at a picture of my character and say "i think you should change her to emma watson."
the fuck? if you're gonna give me other actresses, choose an actress that's the descent that of the original character. you don't read a book that specifically hints at the main character being pale-white and say "shit, i thought she'd be black, i'm gonna picture her as keke palmer." do you? no so stop doing it the other way around.
people of color don't get enough representation as it is and it's annoying that the moment i decide to put them in there, you wanna change them.
bruh.
