Hearing his voice sent chills down his spine.

The voice from dream?! How is this possible?

It gave his dream a sense of reality and the fear he felt then once again filled him. He waited a moment before answering putting him on speaker and replying.

"Who is this?"

"Oh, Jessie, you know who I am the real question is who you are. I see you've made quick work of venom since you have his phone. Bravo! Hats off to you but don't get cocky because he was just the first." The man replied arrogantly.

"The first?" Travis asked.

"Ah, Travis, I didn't know you were there and yes before you ask I do know who you are. I also know Rose."

Rose's face turned pale in fright. The effect this voice had on Jesse seemed to also affect the other two as well.

"Who are you?!" Jessie yelled into the cell phone.

"Ugh if you're so obsessed with finding out my name I'll make you a deal, find me and I'll tell you. But I have to warn you if you find me you won't survive."

Silence hung in the air as they all took into account what was said. Jessie needed answers, he needed his name if this man who's terrorizing the school is the man from Jessie's ' dream then they need to know. Taking a firm grip on the phone Jessie started to give an answer but then Travis interrupted.

"What stops us from learning your name when the police come for you?" He said.

He laughed his cruel laugh that sent chills down the trios spines." Oh, Travis always thinking logically, well you see the police aren't coming."

Fear rose inside them at the thought of the police not coming to their rescue.

"We've disabled communications from the outside world all across campus and have been monitoring police chatter to ensure no one arrives." He continued.

The reality dropped like a nuke on them, they were alone and help wasn't coming.

What's this guys deal, and why does he care so much about us?

Thinking it over Jessie came up with a plan.

"If we learn your name will you leave and not harm any more people?" He asked.

An dry chuckle was made on the other side. "Jessie always the hero, fine I'll leave but since you're adding something to the deal so will I. You'll have to find me and say my name, I won't give it to you."

"How are we supposed to find out your name then?"

"Well there is a way, but it'll be harder. It'll be so much more fun" He said coldly.

"What do we have to do?"Jessie said.

"You'll have to meet another one of my friends. Be careful though she's not as forgiving as Venom, and a lot more dangerous."He jeered.

"I'll have her meet you on the third floor. I'm sure she'll find something to do while she waits for the challenge. If you manage to survive, you can find me on the roof." His laughter was caught off by the dial tone.

The three stared at the phone pale in the face. Rose split off and started towards the supply room. Travis took the phone from Jessie as he stood frozen.

"Alright I'm gonna just gonna say it, this is fucking bonkers. There's no way we are going out to meet this lady right?" Travis said as he pulled his phone out his pocket. He held both phones into the air and waved his arms about.

"If this lady is more dangerous than the Reptile wannabe we just fought, there's no way we are surviving that fight." Travis said as he both phones in his pocket.

"If we don't meet with this lady and get the scary guys name they are just gonna keep killing people Travis. We have to go!" Rose said still pale in the face.

"You can't even say that without being terrified Rose! If we go we'll die!" Travis yelled.

"It doesn't matter if I'm scared it's what's right Travis, besides we have a fighting chance now with your ghost thing." Rose said gesturing to Travis.

"Ghost thing? How lame I always thought if I got superpowers I'd be super fast or something. You did this to me string bean! Make me a different power!" Travis said as he waved his finger at Jessie's face.

"How am I supposed to do that, I didn't even know I could do that." Jessie said raking his fingers through his hair. "At least you two have a shot at surviving, all I can apparently do is make others cool..."

"No excuses! Change me, I wanna shoot lasers. Come on smokers lung we don't have all day." Travis said still waving his finger in Jessie's face.

"I can't even make this stuff come out on command dude, how am I supposed to change you?" Jessie said annoyed. "And get your damn finger out of my face!" He said as he slapped away Travis' hand.

"Your doing it right now what do you mean! Just hit me with your second hand smoke and let's be on our way!"

Jessie looked down at his hands and shivered as he saw black smoke pour from his body upwards towards the roof.

"Watch let me se-" Travis said as he grabbed onto Jessie's wrist. Suddenly the smoke surrounded Travis hand and he screamed. Jessie pulled his arm back stunned as Travis clung onto his wrist and blew onto his hand.

"Holy shit Jessie that hurt. That was like clutching onto dry ice with wet hands. Nearly froze me to the bone." Rose ran over and grasped Travis' wrist. She winced in sympathy and smacked him in the back of the head.

"That's what you get for messing with it Travis. We don't know anything about this smoke and your first reaction to it is 'oh I want lasers'." He dropped his head down and apologized.

Jessie still shook looked down at his hands again to see the smoke sink back into his skin. Shivers ran down his spine again and he turned to see Rose staring at him.

She gave a look of empathy at him and gave him a thumbs-up, then she pulled Travis over to check out the scorch marks she made. Jessie bent his head low and sighed.

You just keep getting weirder huh Jessie.

Out of the corner of his eye he saw a black lump on the floor, he turned to face it and recognized it as Venom's coat he had dropped on the floor. He moved towards the coat, when he bent down to pick it up he noticed just how heavy it was.

This thing is a lot heavier than most coats. The material is so thick as well.

He examined it closer. There was a logo on the right shoulder. It was a plague mask.

I know what this is but why does this feel so familiar, almost like I've seen it every day.

"Hey, I think I have something over here." Travis said.

Moving towards him they went to see what he had found.

Jessie turned to see his fidgeting with the phone from earlier. He showed a screen with a list of code.

"I think I can send a signal out with this but it'll take some time." Travis said as he took part the phone.

"How the guy said they cut off all contact with the outside world?" Jessie asked.

"He did, check your phone I guarantee you won't have signal."

Jessie reached into his pocket and pulled out his new phone. There was a crack down the middle.

Great just great.

"He's right." Rose said as she showed her phone to Jessie. "Then how were we able to answer the call from mr bad guy?"

"Exactly! What is it about this phone that lets make and receive calls during this radio silence?" Travis said as he pulled out a small card from the guys of the phone.

"What he has Verizon?" Jessie said.

Travis looked at him with disappointment. "Dude Verizon sucks, why Verizon?"

"Can you please just explain Travis." Rose said putting her face in her palm.

"Right sorry. This little guy right here transmits on a private signal, so reason states that if we put this in our phones we can make calls and won't have them know we made one at all."

"Do it on our way to the third floor." Jessie said.

Rose and Travis stared at him then at each other.

"Are you sure you wanna do this Jessie, we could die..." Rose said.

Seeing his closest friends scared, tired, and confused by their new powers. He thought about his own and how he had no control over it. Feeling fear seize him he almost said no, but then he thought of all of his peers who are scared and at risk of dying. He knew he had to try to help, to make sure no one else got hurt.

"Yeah, we might die but fuck it, we are the only ones who can help. So we will." Jessie said with determination in his heart and mind.

Travis and Rose smiled and nodded their heads. They started on their way to the stairwell, they were on the first floor and they were after the third. It would be enough time for Travis to send a message, Rose to rest and Jessi to try to find a way to semi-control his power. When they passed the first stairwell they heard loud blasts from above them.

"What was that?!" Rose shrieked.

"It must be the person we are supposed to be meeting, it sounds like she's a lot closer than we thought."Travis said.

Then the phone beeped and a green light came on.

"I got a message out guys, now we just pray someone hears it and comes for us."

"Wait so there's no guarantee for rescue?" Rose asked confused.

"I had to send it out in a way so people with the chip couldn't pick it up, I completely messed up my phone doing this cut me some slack." Travis said as he stared at what used to be his phone.

"That'll be enough thanks Travis." Jessie said as they continued down the hallways in silence. The entire walk up until that point he had been trying to make anything work, some kind of puff to come out but nothing. He started to think about the man's name and why the emblem was so familiar.

It has to do with that night I know it but what am I missing? Why am I still unable to help anyone that needs my help? Am I doomed to be a victim forever?

When he turmoiled over the pain of feeling powerless it filled him with anger and he used his powers on command for the first time. A black mist poured out his eyes and arms. He felt the pressure on his chest and his vision became worse.

"Woah that's really scary looking man. You look like the guy you described in your dream its kind of surreal." Travis said.

By this point, they reached the final stairwell. They all looked at each other knowing this might be the last time they saw each other alive. They remembered all the good times they had together and with this act, they pushed through the door to the third floor.
