"No! Please don't leave me! Please!" I sob into his chest.

Adam and I were strolling down the street casually when all of a sudden, a masked man in a black hoodie starts running towards us with a pocket knife. Adam tries to save me by pushing me behind him. The man didn't care. Adam tried talking to him, he tried to stop him. The man didn't care.

"Please sir, I'm sure that there's a way we can work this out." Adam pleads.

The man remains silent.

"Please! you can have my money."

The man continues to say nothing. He pulls Adam closer to him and twists the knife into his chest. A million things were going through my mind. I didn't know how to react. I couldn't believe what I just saw. Once the man runs away, I run towards Adam, where he is laying in the middle of the street, blood oozing out of his chest.

"Angie..." He coughs out.

Tears begin to form in my eyes. I hold his hands tightly. I know he's dying. There is no way to save him.

"Yes, Adam" I shake.

"I want you to always know that I will love you forever, you are my everything, you are my world, I love you Angie."

"No! Please don't leave me! Please!" I sob into his chest.

"Goodbye...Angel..." Smiles Adam.

A pain in my chest forms inside me like never before. I feel hot burning anger raging in my body. How can it end like this? It all happened so fast.

Adam is now dead. Slowly, words begin to appear on my left wrist, starting in a barely noticeable grey and ending in a bold black. A bold black that is unmistakable for anyone to see. I read what is written on my wrist in black ink, "Angel."

The legend is true! Adam's last words were "Angel." This means that Adam was my soulmate! My facial expression quickly transitions from excitement to sadness. Adam was my soulmate.

You might think knowing who your soulmate was would be the best thing ever, but it isn't when you can't find out until it's all too late.
