He guessed looking at her pissed face, pursing his lips so that smile kept undercover not wanting to irritate her more....

She jumped hearing his words.. she didn't wanted him to think something like this about her. They already have many more complex things to deal with and she didn't desired to add another issue of misunderstandings.....
