It's November. Jungkook's been working on his upper body in their private gym before doing his exercises and physical therapy. The doctor says she can see him walking in no time. Which Jungkook was going to make sure of because there's something important he had to do. And he had to do it soon.
He paced himself as he brought his left leg in front of his right. Holding onto nothing as he continued walking towards the nurse standing in front of him. She clapped happily as he made his way towards her. His walking is slow but natural. He finally reached her and she held her arms out for him to grab.
"Ah! Good job! I believe if we keep walking like this for days you'll be able to walk just as before." She smiled as he breathed out happily with a small smile himself.
"Yeah, I hope so."
"Let's try one more time." She nods to which he complies and walks back to the otherside of the room before walking back to her.
—
Jungkook smiled to himself as weeks passed. He was sitting in his wheelchair, tapping his foot which he could feel again. The nerves from his brain to his legs reconnected which brought a huge smile to his face. He was yet to tell Jimin of this great news because there is still something he needs to tell him.
Jimin walked into their bedroom, having finished cleaning Prince's bedroom then sent him off with his parents who had come by. Jungkook didn't look up as Jimin moved around the room.
He held his hands together tightly as he thought back to his conversation with Leo.
"So, you're finally growing some balls and talking to me by yourself?" Leo chuckled.
"Well, I'd have to eventually. I know I'm not your favorite person but I'm not going anywhere." Jungkook sighed before looking up to Leo who sat across from him.
"Of course."
"And I never plan to until I die."
Leo hums.
"I never plan to until death do us part. Jimin and I."
Leo's eyes slowly widened.
"You—"
"Mr. Park, please. I won't be as reckless as I have been. I won't purposefully try to hurt your son. We have a son together and we're only dating. He deserves so much more. If you can just let me give him that so much more, I'll be forever grateful. Please, can I have your blessing to marry your son." Jungkook pleaded as his eyes focused on Leo's eyes.
"Jungkook." Leo exhaled with a soft laugh.
"Yes?"
"You remind me of myself when I was younger. Asking Halo's father for his blessing." Leo smiled to himself before looking up to Jungkook.
"I..." He began. "I need to learn to let go of my sons. They're grown and have loves of their own. Jungkook, I can see how much you love my son and your own little son. I can see that very clearly." Leo smiled before standing up.
"Is that why you're working so hard to walk? Other than you just being a determined person you want to walk with him down the aisle." Jungkook nods hastily.
"So, so, do I have your blessing?" Jungkook's eyes were wide with hope.
Leo nods before squeezing Jungkook's shoulder.
"Of course, I do."
Jungkook smiled as he closed his eyes and looked down.
"Thank you." He whispered. His shoulders began to shake. "Thank you."
Leo moved down and hugged Jungkook.
"I would be embarrassed if you said no because I already bought the ring." Jungkook chuckled as Leo laughed with him.
"Then when are you proposing?"
Jungkook sighed as Leo moved back.
"Soon, sometime soon."
Jungkook nods before looking around.
"Can I show you something?"
"Depends on what it is." Leo raises an eyebrow with his arms crossed before Jungkook smiles and grips the arms of his wheelchair.
Slowly he stands up.He walks towards Leo with a slight limp but otherwise, his walking is completely normal.
Leo's eyes widen as his arms stretch out only to see Jungkook standing on his own perfectly.
"Oh my god." Leo whispered as he looked into Jungkook's eyes, the two being eye to eye.
"You... you..."
"When I propose, I want to show him my progress. He's been my biggest supporter and biggest cheerleader. Prince being a close second." Jungkook chuckles.
"So, I need to repay him." Jungkook nods as he looks at his legs.
Leo nods as he closes his eyes to keep from crying.
"Oh! Are you okay? Why are you crying?" Jungkook panicked as Leo laughed as he looked to the side, his eyes turning red as he held back his tears.
"Good job, son. You're doing well and I'm proud of you. You worked hard to get here, being able to walk and stand." Leo's watered down voice struggles as he nods to his own words.
Jungkook's eyes widen before shrinking as he smiles, walking forward and hugging Leo. Leo hugged him back, patting his back as he breathed out shakily.
"Good job." Leo said one last time.
Everytime the interaction or conversation comes back to Jungkook and feels close to tears. The ring in his pocket felt like fire, burning against his skin. He didn't think Jimin would say no. In fact he'd be heartbroken and shocked if Jimin did say no. But there's always just that fear that he might.
But there was no turning back. As soon as Jimin walked in front of him to pull the blanket back to get ready to throw him into bed he stood up and pushed the wheelchair back quietly. He took the ring out of his pocket then knelt down behind him.
"You did your exercises today, right? I'm sorry I got distracted and wasn't there but Prince kept whining." Jimin chuckled.
"Mm." Jungkook answered with a smile wide across his face.
"Good. Then let's get you—" Jimin turned around then immediately slapped his hands over his mouth.
He closed his eyes tightly as he fell to his knees.
"Now, are you crying because I'm out of my wheelchair or because I'm holding a ring?"
Jimin shook his head as his eyes watered. He hugged Jungkook tightly, rubbing his hair as he quietly cried, overwhelmed seeing his alpha out of his wheelchair.
"You can walk again." Jimin whispered through his watered down voice.
"Jimin, baby, I'd like an answer." Jungkook smiled as he pressed his cheek against Jimin's.
"You can walk! Jungkook oh my god! Is this what those extra hours have been!"
"Yes baby. I wanted to be able to get down on one knee and walk you down the aisle." Jungkook smiled.
Jimin pulled back with a huge smile on his face, tears down his face and he held Jungkook's face.
"So?" Jungkook quirked an eyebrow.
Jimin nods as he holds his hand out for Jungkook to slide the ring on. Jimin leaped forward and kissed him through a smile.
"It's beautiful." Jimin said as he leaned away from Jungkook's lips just barely.
"Only for you, love." Jungkook smiled.
"I love you." Jimin said in between kisses.
"I love you too."
—
"He proposed like that?! He didn't even take you anywhere special!" Chung-ha scowled.
Jimin rolled his eyes.
"I don't care whether it was extravagant or not. He surprised me with great news. Guys focus, he can walk again. I could care less if you propose with this big presentation." Jimin chuckled as he looked down at the diamond on his finger.
"Besides, this diamond is huge."
"Ugh, I couldn't do that. I'd make him propose again." Liz sighed.
"Babe take notes, I'll kick your ass." Liz turned his head to Taehyung who looked up and around at the omegas and beta as he was just massaging Liz's leg that was set up on his lap.
"Yes, dear." Taehyung smiled.
Liz snorts and punches his arm.
Jimin snorted but rolled his eyes as he twirled his ring.
