CHAPTER ELEVEN

"We could've had fun together."

✘✘✘

Fifteen days.

We have been stuck in isolation for fifteen days and all I've got from Atlas were death glares and unbearable tension.

As much as I wanted to apologize and make things better between us, I was so scared. After I confessed what happened between Jesus and me, he turned his back on me and literally punched a hole through the wall.

Multiple times.

Since then, I gave up on saying anything. Honestly, I don't think I actually have the power to do so because my body decided to completely shut down.

When the guards heard Atlas destroying 'their property' five days ago, they stopped giving us any kind of food, only very undrinkable water.

I know I may have been ungrateful towards it, but their nasty food has been the only thing keeping me somewhat alive.

So, what's keeping me alive now? My boyfriend. I know he's not here, but sometimes his presence seems more realistic than it should've.

Sometimes, I hear him speak.

"Brandy, what the fuck are you doing?" a distant voice from the back of the cell asked me. I was standing on my feet, facing a brick wall.

I don't know where the strenght came from, but my mind wasn't worried about that at all because I saw him. I saw Jesus.

His light, brown hair was falling on his forehead and his baby blue eyes stared at me with compassion. His plump, pink lips screamed my name as he smiled at me.

"I miss you," I told him as I cupped his chin and stared into his two blue oceans.

"I miss you too, but now, you need to sit down. I'll come get you I promise," he told me and I nodded in response.

I took his hand in mine and flashed him a small, reassuring smile. My power was on its way to completely shutting down, but I had to look at him as long as I could because this is all I really get.

"Do you promise you'll rescue me?" I asked him with sadness filling my soul. He laughed and tilted his head back as he gently picked me up and placed me down on the ground.

"What kind of question is that? I would rather die than leave you," he whispered in my ear as I felt him evaporate into the air.

I stared blankly in front of myself as tears streamed down my face. When did I start crying?

"What the fuck is going on?" I heard Atlas mumble into his chin and as soon as I opened my mouth, I was interruped by a loud creak.

Two guards peeked from behind the doors as the red headed one grabbed our arms and took us outside. A small, young girl stood in front of our cell with a suit too big for her. She had beautiful blue eyes and curly brown hair that shaped her face perfectly.

"This is Atlas and Tequila?" she asked the guards as they passed us to her like we were objects, not human beings. I shot Atlas a puzzled look as he glared at the girl. Although I was too drained to be rational or think normal, this seemed way too suspicious.

What the fuck is happening?

"Her name is Brandy," I heard one of the guards say, correcting the young girl.

Despite my will to stay awake and survive whatever was going on, my eyes closed and the only thing that was holding me on my feet was the girl.

I heard muffled voices interacting and I opened my eyes to notice we were walking towards a big hall with stairs.

"She doesn't have a card! She is one of them!" the guards yelled as the girl looked at us with an alarmed look.

"Run," was all she said before she and Atlas ran off. My legs were paralyzed - I had no idea what to do. Atlas turned around to face me and screamed my name, but his voice was too distant for me to hear it.

When he realized I couldn't move nor hear, he grabbed my arm and pulled me forwards as we started running as fast as we could.

The girl started talking to a familiar male voice through a small shoulder radio as we got closer to the stairs. The guards were getting closer to us, a second more and they will smack us against the floor.

If a miracle doesn't happen, and I'm almost positive it won't, we will be thrown into isolation forever. We ran up the stairs, but so did the guards. My mind was blank, I could barely even keep my eyes opened at this point.

My eyes got extremely heavy as the guards mouths moved with such rage and spite. Their smiles were curved upwards almost as if they were older predators looking at underage girls.

Atlas' body stiffened next to mine and I thought to myself - if Atlas is scared, this is the end. We will all die.

But then, just as we were about to be killed and sent to hell, a tall, blond guy swept in-between us and the guards like a ninja, slamming them both against a wall. The guards collapsed to the ground as the guy turned around, looking straight at the girl.

His beauty was undeniable - the bright, platinum hair fell down on his forehead as blue eyes played with mischeif under dark eyebrows. His entire body was covered with tattoos on places that looked too painful to be stabbed with a needle, which made him look even sexier, if that was possible. His tounge slipped out of his mouth to play with the lip piercing as he glared at her with authority.

"What did I tell you about going off by yourself?" he spoke to her coldly, but the spark between them was noticable from an airplane.

They were both in love with each other, whether they admit it or not.

My mind was swirling around like a tornado, I couldn't keep up with everything that has been happening for the past twenty minutes. On top of it all, I was on a verge of collapsing to the floor.

"Geode! You came through!" Gage suddenly appeared from behind us and did that weird, man-shake thing with the boy, who was obviously Geode. Although he interrupted the intense stare between Geode and the girl, Geode smiled back.

Jesus, Emrys and Kingston jogged behind Gage as Jesus separated from them and ran to my embrace. He gently hugged my fragile body and planted a kiss to my forehead.

"What have they done to you?" he whispered and his eyes filled up with tears as he examined my poor features. Without even looking at my body, I knew very well how much weight I've lost.

I probably looked like a disgusting skeleton.

"I've missed you," I whispered against his lips as he handed me a sandwich. I laughed and kissed his cheek, opening the foil with anticipation.

This is the first real meal I've eaten in fifteen days.

"Gotta look out for my nephew," Geode told him as everyone's faces shifted from tense to puzzled. "Mind telling me what's going on here?" he added with raised brows.

Did he just say nephew? He barely looked eighteen, which was not even enough to have a nephew.

I gasped wide enough to fit two penises inside my mouth along with having a mouthful of food, but I closed it before it could all fall out. What? I am really, really hungry.

"He was adopted by my half-sister," Geode explained to all of us, his glare stopping at Emrys who seemed extra shocked. "Technically, we're not blood related, but I think you all know that blood doesn't make a family."

"That's actually really sweet," Jesus commented as he intertwined our hands and kissed my cheek. I could feel Atlas' eyes on us, but that was a problem for another day. We need to get the fuck away from here.

Geode shot him a cold glare and just shrugged his words off his shoulders. "Yeah, whatever. Lets get out of here," he said flatly, seeming almost like he was emotionless and not giving a shit about anyone here.

Well, I'm sure that's actually not too far from the truth.

"Penny, you look absolutely marvelous," Gage appeared next to me with a childish grin, flashing me a perfect set of white teeth.

I rolled my eyes and raised my hand to give him a middle finger. "I did not miss you," I replied to his sarcastic comment as he laughed and blew me a kiss.

"We should leave before any more guards come out here," the girl told us, although it seemed she was just using it as an excuse to ignore Geode.

"I know a way out," Atlas suddenly joined the conversation after a long moment of silence, seeming almost like he was the only hope left for us. "There's a back door. We can use a keycard from guards Geode knocked out to open the side gate."

I furrowed my eyebrows and thought why didn't he use that plan earlied if he had known about it all this time.

Altas then crouched next to one of unconscious guards and took their card, walking off with the brown haired girl I heard was called Laila. My eyes followed them for a while before I finally moved my legs.

I am not jealous. I have nothing to be jealous of - I have a boyfriend.

I started walking when Jesus apologized and distanced himself from me to talk to Kingston about something 'very important'. When I finished with eating the sandwich, I threw the wrapping on the ground without any guilt concerning me whatsoever.

"You'll go to hell for that," Geode's low, husky voice filled my ears as he appeared next to me with a mischevious, but elegant smirk covering only half of his face.

I'm sure, without any doubt, that he used it to charm hundreds of girls and I'm positive he succeeded every time. Not only he was too hot to even exist, but the pick up lines practically rolled of his tongue without any effort. I nervously chuckled at his words and tucked a loose strand of hair behind my ear.

"I'm going to hell for multiple other reasons," I replied with a shy smile as I looked down at my feet. When it comes to new company and intimidating guys like him, my confidence shrinks down from one hundrend to zero in a milisecond.

"What are you talking about? I'm sure it's illegal for such a pretty girl to go there," he told me with that same flirtarious smirk.

I opened my eyes in shock as I looked up at him. Was he hitting on me?

My eyes shifted to Jesus, who was talking to Kingston, and Atlas, who was talking to that pretty girl.

My mouth was dry - I had no idea what to reply. Usually, I would tell him off, but it almost seemed like a cat got my tongue.

"What's wrong, beautiful?" he whispered as he got even closer to me. I could feel the cold sweat dripping down my back as his eyes seductively stared at me and his tongue playfully swirled the ring in his bottom lip.

"Uh... I have a boyfriend," I finally managed to confess, which took me way longer than it was supposed to.

"Too bad," he was now directly next to my ear, his voice purring like a tiger. "We could've had fun together."

With that, he walked away and I was left speechless. What the fuck just happened?

I have a fucking boyfriend, who I really lov- like! Who I really like! What is wrong with me?

When we got closer to the gates, Laila slid the card through the scanner and they opened with a click. All of us exited the suffocating building and as soon as we got out, I inhaled the fresh air after too much time.

"Thanks for the help Laila," Gage grinned at her and then at Geode. "And Geode," he added genuinely.

This is it. We are finally out.

Laila hugged all of the guys and stopped in front of Emrys. "I hope to see all of you again," she smiled. "And if you ever want to drop by and say hi... you're more than welcome."

Emrys returned her a genuine smile with a slightest smirk. "Maybe I will."

Geode suddenly cleared his throat and glared at them with a look that could literally kill. "Let's go, Laila. Do you guys need a ride now that you're out of the prison?" he asked us, looking directly at Gage.

He shook his head and replied for all of us, "I have a guy that'll get us where we need to go. Thanks for the offer, though."

Geode nodded in responce and waited for Laila to join him, but she didn't move. She caught me staring at Atlas, which was rather uncomfortable. She leaned in and kissed his cheek, which made both Atlas and I flinch in shock.

What the fuck just happened?

She turned around and covered her mouth in apology as she looked at me. "Ah. Sorry, didn't know you liked him that way. My bad," she told me as Geode was literally murdering them with his mind.

"Laila. Go get in the car," he whispered with threat only she could possibly understand. "It's parked out back. We'll talk about this when we get back to the apartments," he ordered her and walked off.

She followed him with a sigh soon afterwards, finally leaving us all alone.

"So, Penny. I heard you and Jesus got real close," Gage commented, but I didn't reply with anything. My eyes were simply following Geode and Laila, who were getting further and smaller as they walked off.

Jesus' arms wrapped around my waist as he rested his head on my shoulder.

We're finally free.
