Leon P.O.V

Drake was clasping his ribs, the pain was clear in his eyes as his knuckled were white. One of his eyes were swollen shut as an ugly bruise beginning to turn purple.

Few knights rushed to his aid, but Ardal was the first to reach him. Ardal slipped an arm around his father with a joy I've never seen before. Yet, Drake was so worn out, his legs began to crumple beneath him.

"I should've been free sooner than this." Hissed Drake, staring at the knights before him.

"What happened? Where were you?" Asked Ardal.

Drake's eyes turned cold once again as he stared at his son. There were so many unspoken words. "I've been missing for a long time, I was locked in these forsaken forests. King Leonidas got so much power than the orb. It seemed like Micheal got control over another world, but the fool didn't know that his brother was the key to everything." He said.

"Micheal?" Asked Art confused. "King Leonidas killed his brother, that man is long gone."

"But it seems that you have forgotten that this was the forest they fought in. This was the same forest Leonidas killed Micheal, the same forest the young princess parents were slaughtered in cold blood." He added.

Alena broke her silence, "but my parents were killed before me in the Royal palace." She argued. "I know what I saw.

Drake took a deep breath, "What you saw was an illusion, princess. You're parents didn't die in the royal palace. They died in this forsaken forest. Why do you think it's haunted? Why do you think the army of the dead roams it freely? I was here to aid them since I lived in your Kingdom but ended up lock here."

"If what I saw was an illusion how did you escape your death? How did you escape the shadow realms?" She shouted.

"Because of your magic, princess. When you tried to save his royal highness, you have no idea what your magic did. You have awakened asleep forces who protected Queen Violet once and set me free. The last time Misty was one of the deadly Legends but now it's certain, there is another one. He might be among us."

"What the hell is he talking about?" Shouted Alena. "You dare to question my sanity, saying that every memory I lived is false and then you start to speak about these deadly legends all I need now is "Gift of life," madness. I don't believe any of this, I believe that you've been in these woods for far too long, you might've lost your mind!"

"Princess," I tried to say, but I was silenced.

"Don't!"

Drake laughed at her discomfort, "You're too young and naive indeed. You have no idea what kind of power your parents had. They fought in these woods for weeks and when they lost hope you're mother used her magic on you. She preferred to show you what she wanted than to allow you to watch the horrifying truth." Drake took a deep breath. "You should be grateful, there was an army behind me, all of it is dead. I didn't kill them. You can thank whoever did that." He added.

The tension was filling the air as the silence took over, but it didn't last long.

"Alvin refused to hand the Ancient Maze-" whispered Art.

"You're wrong, Art. Alvin agreed to your demands. He is willing to hand Leon everything tomorrow." Argued Drake.

"How do you know?" Asked Art. "It was clear that the man is no going down without a fight."

"It's a trap," muttered Ardal staring at his father. "Alena's magic is powerful but I don't think she's the reason you're free. It was Alvin all along he's up to something."

I only managed to hold Alena's gaze for a moment before she disappeared into the woods.

Alena's P.O.V

I ran away from them as I sat on the edge of a high stone facing the Ancient maze, hugging both my knees to my chest. The wind started to play with my hair as the air started to subside and the once dark sky was clear as the bright moon was shining down on the forgotten mountain.

I could hear a slight of a movement behind me. I turned around and I felt that my heart my leap out of my chest. But it was only Ardal who appeared from the darkness.

"This stone is dangerous, princess." He said.

"Don't worry, Ardal. It's safe, I've been here for a while." I answered.

He moved carefully, standing behind me.

"Why are you here? Why aren't you down there with your future King celebrating your victory? I'm sure Leon is so happy. After all, he's going to get what his heart desired the most." I asked him in a pained voice.

"Don't be harsh on him. Leon is not a bad guy Alena... He just keeps taking all the wrong decisions. He sacrificed too much, even the closest people to him never understood." The silence took over once again. "I came here to apologize. I'm really sorry we ruined your wedding that day, but it was for the best. I wish you'll be happy, princess."

"Thank you," I whispered. There was this tightness in my throat, making it so hard to speak.

After that, Ardal turned around and joined the knights once again, leaving me all alone on that stone. Everything was so different the girl who gazed up at the moon from her chamber is nothing like the girl who's staring at it right now.

I had no idea how I was going back to Alvin and pretend that I was the same girl, who had not tasted Leon sweet lips, who never felt the heat of his body, Who had never melted in his arms and who's not carrying his child. How could any of the jewels and furs mean anything if it wasn't him? How would life mean anything without him?

How can I move on after feeling my heart and body came to alive beneath his touch? How would it be possible to lie night after night next to a man I would never love especially after knowing how much of a coward he is?

I allowed my tears to fall down, I couldn't control them. I wasn't the same girl who was locked in the towers for long years and I'll never be again. No matter what will happen next I would never deny my own desire and passion. My entire life was a lie, I was locked to please the others, I allowed them to control me.

But I wasn't that girl anymore, I wasn't the girl who stood at the alter months ago preparing to sacrifice her life to a man I could never love.

All I need right now is someone to help me through this.

Leon P.O.V

All I could think about right now was the weight hanging on my shoulders. All this time they were strong, but right now they feel so weak. I could only think of the fact that I'll send Alena tomorrow to Alvin, but it didn't feel right.

I knew that I would never sleep again with her warm body next to mine. I knew that I would never hear her call my name again and that would break my heart. I took a deep breath, trying to control my feeling.

"Leon."

At the beginning I thought that I was imagining her angelic voice, whispering around me. I knew it was nothing but my imagination, I longed for her and this was the work of my mind, but a small part of me wanted to believe it, I turned around slowly. Alena was standing far away. She looked like a tortured bride, her once beautiful face was so pale and her rich shade of color that once was perfecting her locks was gone.

"Why are you here? What do you want Alena?" I asked hoarsely. All this time I acted like the strongest man, but right now I was far from it. I didn't have the power.

Alena lifted her chin, her eyes were fixed on me. She was so calm I've never seen her like this. She looked like there wasn't a single thing in this world can take this moment from her. The look that was lingering in her eyes was the same one I saw the first time we met.

"All I want is you, I want you to ruin me."

I closed my eyes and listened that was all I could do before I choose my following words. "Did I do that Alena?" I asked her hoarsely.

"And it seems that it wasn't enough. You're still cold, I thought for a moment that you might love me, but it looks like you lack feelings! You're selfish." She hissed.

"You have no idea what I feel for you!" I hissed back. "You have no idea how painful it is to love a star shining in the darkest skies." I felt light headed as if my life was being pulled away from me. "You have no idea how it feels to live in constant fear, fear of not being able to see the dawn of the following day."

"Fear of what, Leon? What are you talking about? You said that you had a feeling for me, don't let me go. Don't turn your back on me." She begged with pleading eyes.

"I can't do that. I'm not a selfish man Alena. I made a mistake once and wanted something that wasn't mine. I can't make you happy, I can't protect you forever. " I argued.

"Yes, you can! You said you loved me and if that wasn't enough for you. What about your child?" She whispered the last part.

"What did you say?"
