Alena's P.O.V

"Alena!"

All I could hear was the sound of Leon worried voice. His voice seemed so distant, I felt as if oceans separated us. Nevertheless, he succeeds to lure me out of the limbo realm and for the first time, I felt I could see clearly as the dark veil that was clouding my eyes was gone. I saw his Rasputin-blue eyes were as vicious as a stormy sea.

"Thank the lord, you're back. What happened to you earlier? Your eyes, your eyes were all white, and you weren't moving or breathing. You looked dead." He murmured, demanding an explanation, I couldn't give.

I gazed into the dancing campfire. It crackled and spluttered before hissing into life, but that wasn't what caught my attention. There was something clear, hiding in the fire. How couldn't I see it before? I pushed Leon tenderly, overlooking his protests, moving closer to the flames.

The flame dazzling light snatched away the velvet-black umbrae dancing within the forest. The flames played hungrily as I walked closer to it, scrambling higher and higher as I approached it.

"Alena what are you doing?" Yelled Leon, trying to pull me back, but I pushed my hands into the fire, I could hear his angry shouts but he couldn't reach me as the high flames drove him away.

I closed my eyes and the words began to leave my lips, words I've never heard before.

All Alone I stand for thy

Goddess of fire, now, hear my plea

Fire of vengeance burns so deep

Tame thy old flames and thy new

Flame of anger, hear my plea

For all, I lost and thy

Flames of thy now I command

As Goddess of new fire is born

Future and space I control

Fire of thy response only to me.

Cerulean flames started to spread all over my body, I gazed around me in awe as I saw the glow claiming me as its new goddess, chasing the shadow away. The blaze felt like a warm butter melting on my face as the angry sky wailed above me.

My eyes were filled with tears as I looked around me. "If only you could see me now," I whispered into the night. "If only."

The next thing I know was an enormous azure-dark portal started to appear before me. Slowly, a glowing figure started to walk closer to me followed by what looked like an army.

"We can see, my child. We can see everything. We might be trapped in the fallen realms, but we are here, lightening the way. A mother can never leave her child behind, she would be restless in her grave. I could never leave you to die. For years, I watched you."

"How?"

My mother moved closer to me slowly, "We weren't hopeless Alena, but it was our time. It was my time to leave, you know that I held black magic back then and still. I was a sorceress."

"I don't understand why you are telling me this mother?" I asked her in a faint voice.

"I don't need to tell you why Alena Queen of the ancient maze. Look at your flame, queen goddess. Do you feel it answering you? Do you feel it running through your veins?" She smiled weakly at me as she moved closer. "I was once the goddess of fire, but after I died it started to call you, my child. My only heir."

She looked at me one last time with longing eyes, " You have two choices, my darling. You can walk through this portal and it shall send you back to the maze or you can stay with Leon, son of the dragon, and the father of your child." She said the in a low voice. "It's your destiny child to walk this long road, but you don't have to be alone. May your reign last forever."

Then she walked again into the portal, but I knew that this was the last time I'll ever see her again. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath the next few moments will seal my fate. When I opened my eyes, the flames were still high and the portal was still right before me, but I knew what I had to do.

"From the fallen realms, you were called and to it, I send you again," I yelled.

Slowly the clouds started to scatter, leaving the heavens a dazzling shade of azure and the bright flames started to die. I couldn't resist drawing a deep breath of the fresh air. I ignored Leon and his men as I knelt beside the river and splashed icy water over my face.

"Alena!" Leon was the only one who followed me. "What happen back there? What was all that?"

"I know that you are a bright man Leon, I'm sure you understand what happened minutes ago." I challenged him.

"Are you the heir of the ancient maze? You are the princess?" He stated, covering his face.

"Yes! I am the real Queen. I thought you knew... Don't tell me that you stole because you thought I was just Alvin bride." I taunted him. "I thought you were a smart one!"

Leon yelled in irritation, as he moved closer to me, pulling me against his hard chest. "I can't believe what you did! It all make sense now. You are a smart Alena, very smart, but you never imagined that I can find out? You never imagined that I would know?"

"Know what? That I'm a princess?" I was praying that he was still arguing about this.

"No, you were in that ball because you wanted to find the perfect guy, but you never imagined that you would end up with me? The crown prince of three kingdoms." He yelled.

"You can go to hell with your three kingdoms that were the last of my worries! I have one kingdom and I can't even move around it. Sometimes you are an-"

"Guys calm down... You don't have to talk like this. We can always talk calmly." Said Art trying to stop the shouting. "You are already acting like a married couple, please."

I shot him a dirty look, "Move away, red-rooster. You don't want me to set you on fire."

"No, I don't," He said walking away.

Leon ignored Art and kept his eyes fixed on me. "Sometimes I act like what an idiot?" He said gripping my hands firmly. "Guess what Alena, I'm not. I know! I know that you are with a child, and it's mine. You fooled me, you even thought that you could walk away with it, but tough luck, love. You are stuck with me now." He said with disgust. "I called you an angel, but you are far from it.

My eyes were wide as I stared back at him, trying to fight my tears. "You weren't honest with me either, son of the dragon." I hissed. "I've made a mistake when I chose you. All you ever wanted was to gain your father trust again, but you are nothing like your father, You are not even half the man he is. You live in his shadow. You live in the shadow of the Black Dragon."

Leon's eyes were a dark shade of cobalt as he started back at me, he lifted his right hand and I knew what was going to come next. I closed my eyes refusing to watch what will happen.

"You are lucky I'm nothing like my father, he wouldn't be so kind. Get ready we'll leave this place soon." He said walking away from me.

I tried to move away from the party, but where ever I'd go I find one of Leon's men stopping me. I felt like a caged animal. Before I knew what was happening, we started to ride again.

I looked to my right and saw Winter, "you look young why are you riding with these mad men?" I observed her as she followed with her dragon not saying a word at the beginning. Leon provided her with some thick furs, protecting her from the harsh weather, yet he ignored me.

Winter smirked at me before she spoke, I might look young, but I'm full grown up. I'm twenty-two summer."

I smiled weakly at her, "How did you end up riding with these beasts? Did these dragons abduct you?"

"Nay, they took me in when no one did. They welcomed me into the group when I lost everything. I was locked after your mother's death and the army of the dead along with your mother wanted revenge, I killed one of them and his son will join him soon."

Leon's P.O.V

The dragons have always been known for their strength and wisdom, but we were also known with our quick tempers. In truth, my quick temper were attached to a slow fuse that might survive for a while. I might not yell and act like a savage if someone crossed me, but for sure that person would be ten feet under.

Even though we were riding but my eyes were fixed on her. What happened hours ago were too much to handle, but I was pulled out of my thought when I felt the air sizzling. Ardal shot me a worried look, but it wasn't because of the wind. I understood what that look was, he was still thinking about what he saw earlier.

As she started to near me, my gaze stayed on her pink soft lips. The same lips had melted twice beneath mine. My body was still aching from the memory.

I stopped all of a sudden and turned to face her, "I don't want you to ride by yourself, you can hurt yourself and the little one as well. I'm sure you can pull yourself up to ride behind me."

Alena was staring at me as she crept closer. "I promise you won't fall," I assured her, but she was eyeing me with disgust and mistrust as she slipped her cold hand into my warm one. She scowled up at me before things become any worse, I gave her hand a tug, pulling her off the ground and into the saddle right in front of me.

As the dragon started to move, she placed her head on my chest. I gritted my teeth as my body responded to her touch.

Alena's P.O.V

I started to relax slowly against Leon's chest as he began to follow a winding path through the forest. The wind gently started to whisper around us as we moved forward. The brilliant sunlight followed by a whole weaver of light It was followed by a whole weaver of light, flickering down in seams of gold.

Although I wasn't happy about being stuck with these madmen, but the sun always managed to brighten my mood. The beauty that surrounded me made everything easier to pretend. When I close my eyes I could imagine Neomerilis and our long rides in the forest.

"What a beautiful view," I breathed.

Leon only response was a grunt.

"Where are we going now?"

"Who knows."

I glared back at him, "I knew that dragons were always eager to start a war or a fight."

Leon clenched his teeth ignoring my words.

"So what did Alvin do to you besides the fact that you want my kingdom?" I asked.

Yet I never imagined that Ardal would be the to answer me, "He stole our castle. He stole my family's castle."
