Just a traveler

A/n: Warning - if you have not read all the manga so far there will be some spoilers in this chapter.

William Vangeance, the captain of the Golden Dawn, was out taking walking just outside the capital. It was a quiet peaceful day when suddenly he heard a loud scream. He looked towards it and ran that way. When he got to where he heard the scream he saw a young woman on the ground and two guys surrounding her. "Get back!" She said.

"Calm down, we are not going to hurt you." One of them said. "We just want what's in that bag of yours."

He reached down and yanked it from her. He opened it up and said, "What...just books? Don't you have any-" But he was cut off as a vine wrapped around his leg and pulled him up into the air. The bag dropped and the books fell out and along with her pencils and erasers.

"Leave her alone," William said as he walked over him grimoire floating in front of him.

"It-t's the Captain of the Golden Dawn," The other guy said backing up.

"Hey. Help me," His friend said who was tangled in the vine.

"No. You're on your own," He said and ran off. William walked over and looked to the girl and asked, "Are you alright Miss?"

"Me? I am fine," she said. "Maybe you can let him go...he look's kind of scared." She looked at the guy who looked absolutely terrified.

"Are you sure? He did try to robe you," He said.

"Yes. I think he has learned his lesson," She replied looking at him. William nodded and dropped him. The vine vanished and he took off running. She watched him run off and bent down to gather her fallen books. Willaim bent down and helped her. She had silver hair and light blue eyes.  She wore simple clothes and a headband that went under her hair and over her forehead. She wore a sweet smile as she gathered her books up.

"Here," William said handing her some papers that fell out of a folder that was in the bag. She reached for them but a huge gust of wind came and blew them away along with his mask. The mask fell down and his scared face was shown. William stepped back but she just bent down and picked up the mask and handed it over.

"Here you go," she said.

"Thanks...don't my scars scare you?" He asked.

"Why would they?" She asked. "Everyone has scars."

He smiled a bit and helped her gather the paper that went flying. They landed on the ground a few feet away. William helped her pick those up, yet as he picked up one he saw it was a drawing of a person...more accurately a person with pointed ears. He looked at the drawing than at the girl as she picked up the rest of the papers.

"Here," He said as he handed the rest to her.

"Thank you," She replied as she put them in her bag. She turned to him and said, "Well thank you for all your help."

"Of course...yet, I do have a question. In that picture-" He began but she cut him off and asked, "The drawing of an Elf? What about it?"

"I am just wondering why you drew it," he replied.

"Since I am here looking into Elves, I know they got killed ages ago but I find them interesting. It must have been amazing while they were alive and amazing to meet one. I know that most people in Clover Kingdom are taught that they were cruel and evil, yet, I can not bring myself to believe that." She said. "I think they were caring beings who had a great connection to the mana of this world...sorry. I am blabbering again."

"No. It is alright and I agree with you," He replied. "What is your name?"

"My name? It's Ashly, I heard those guys say you're where the captain of the Golden Dawn. So that means you are William Vangeance." She said.

"That's me," He replied.

"Yes, I got it right...sorry I am not from here and it's taking me a while to figure things out." She replied.

"No it is alright," He said. "Are you interested in Elves?"

"I am, that's why I came here. To see if I can learn about them and see if I can find out the truth to what happened to them. I heard one thing that said the humans killed them and I heard others say one of their own betrayed them. I personly do not know what do think, either way, it's sad that they died. It'll be even worse if the humans killed them...it's sad that we can't see into the past and fix things. There's just the future and all we can do is keep one foot in front of the other. Also, maybe to try to re-write the wrongs of the past." She said. "Sorry. I was blabbering again. I tend to do that, my mind just escapes me and I start talking about whatever comes to my head."

"No. I do agree with you, it would be nice to know what happened." He replied. "May I ask you something?"

"Yes?" She asked. "You said 'it will be even worse if humans killed them' why do you say this?"

"Well, then it will make all humans out to be the same. Yes, some are evil and some do terrible things. So, if some elves are still alive they will most likely want revenge for what happened. I figure it will be to kill humans...but not all humans are evil. There are some who are kind and who try to help and their others who are evil. Yet, humans are humans. They have their faults but everyone does. No one is perfect and if the elves do take their revenge on all humans,  human's will look at them as the monsters they think they are. Yet, I know how hard it will be to stop hating people who hurt you...so I will understand wanting revenge." She said. "My home was destroyed and a lot of my people where tortured and killed. I was able to escape with my brother. My brother leans more towards revenge but revenge won't do much or at least in my eyes. If you want to write wrongs do it away where you will not stoop to the level of people who hurt you. I take pity on those who hurt me that they will want to do something like that, even if those who hurt men have killed so many. Hate blackens the heart and will only cause more destruction and it will be an endless spiral of destruction."

William listened to her as she spoke, she was staring up at the sky looking at the clouds. Inside Patolli heard this and he wonders how a human could speak like this...then again she did have William let those guys go. She...was different then other humans and both he and William could tell she was speaking the truth. She turned and smiled at him. "Well thank you for listening to my ramblings." She said. "It was nice to meet you. Also, a word of advice. Let go of the pain you have inside. It will only lead to endless suffering on all sides."

Yet, before he could ask what she met she was already walking off and vanishing into the trees. Patolli. William thought, maybe this girl is right...maybe we can try to find another way to take revenge. I know it will be hard but maybe there is a chance we can get them to change. Or if not maybe if she is there we can let her live. She seems very kind and sweet.

Maybe, Came the reply.

Off where Ashly ran she looked back and pulled off her headband and smiled. "I do hope you can make peace. I can tell only pain and death await if none is made."The windblew her hair and pointy ears where shown as she turned and walked deeper into the froest.
