"Until we have seen someone's darkness, we don't really know who they are. Until we have forgiven someone's darkness, we don't really know what love is."

Finally, it was Friday and time for my shift at the club. It was also my third one and the last day of my little trial period. So as long as today goes well, I'll have nothing to worry about and I'll officially have my in as an employee.
I eyed myself in the mirror and did a few small hops to loosen up the new shoes I'd gotten from Obi-Wan yesterday. I was nervous they'd give me trouble tonight since they have yet to be broken in, but I didn't have a choice in the matter. I had a feeling Skywalker wouldn't be too pleased if I showed up in my old shoes, which have started peeling from the cheap alcohol he spilled on them, just as he said they would. So I was going to have to suck it up and pray they don't give me any blisters.
Once I felt pleased with how I looked, I grabbed my small bag and left the apartment, locking the door behind me.
Those two days off being stuck in this place alone was beyond boring. I was tempted to call my husband a few times, but I fought against the urge since it was against the contract I signed when I took this job.
I'm not allowed contact with anyone from my real life, not even for a short, less than a minute, phone call. It's something I do understand, but I'm starting to really miss them all more and more as the days go by.
So because of my isolation, the only source of entertainment I got—which wasn't a lot—was the intel I gained from the listening device. Some of it was interesting, but useless. And there was something else I learned that was borderline shocking, it was still nothing I could use for my benefit on the case, but it was quite an unexpected find.
Not only did I get to hear Ahsoka and Skywalker argue about her school and learn about their mother and the fact that he doesn't want her taking part in his lawlessness behavior — which is still odd to me.
But I also learned a little secret that she has been keeping from him. Yesterday as I was flipping through channels on my television since Skywalker wasn't even in his office at the time - I had begun to hear something on my laptop that I wish to god I hadn't.
It was Ahsoka and Piett — doing the deed, on her own brothers desk.
At first everything seemed innocent, I could hear their small pecks along with shared words of affection that were actually kind of sweet. But then once I heard a zipper and sounds that have since scarred me, I slammed it closed with a screech of disgust.
So basically I have come to learn that those two are in a secret relationship, and from what I heard them discuss beforehand - Skywalker has no idea. And although hearing them do that is not something I needed or wanted; it was still one hell of a power move for her to do it on his desk in his office, and I couldn't help but respect it.
The walk to the club was short and i was already walking through the doors. I always opted to walk instead of drive since it's a such small distance anyway. And although I tend to get off late, I know how to protect myself so I didn't fear walking alone at night like others might.
"Good afternoon Piett," I walked behind the bar and placed my bag on top of it before tying my apron on.
Wearing the apron is not mandatory but some of the customers are clumsy as hell. Tuesday I had one guest accidentally spill their entire drink on me... it was red and I was wearing white. So I figured I'd start wearing the apron to save my wardrobe.
"Good afternoon Ms.Winters, I hope you're ready for tonight," He smiled at me and I smiled back as I tried to push what I learned about him away from my mind. It was making looking at him in the eyes difficult now that I know what his moans sound like, "It's a Friday and it gets a lot crazier than the other nights you've worked so far." He added with a raised brow, most likely expecting this news to worry me.
I cleared my throat and looked away from him as I grabbed my bag to take it in the back where they have the employee lockers, "More than ready, it may get crazier but it's itching I can't handle, and I bet the tips are better." I said with a positive attitude.
The busy night isn't going to bother me, I've dealt with worse than a crowded club - like getting shot in the leg in line of duty for example. So this, this was all a piece of cake to me.
"That's the spirit," He chuckled as I walked away from him, "Oh and can you please stop by the kitchen on your way back and bring out a bin of cups please."
"Will do," I turned my head to shoot him a quick smile before disappearing around a corner.
I placed my bag in the locker that had my name on it, which resided between Ahsoka's and Aaron's locker. I eyed hers for a moment as I closed mine, feeling a slight temptation to search through it. But I knew now in the middle of the day with so many people present, wouldn't be the best choice.
I left the room and went straight to the kitchens to do as Piett asked, but paused in the doorway when my eyes landed on the big man himself — Skywalker.
"What the hell have I told you about this huh?" He was holding a lit cigarette in his hand with an angered expression, and he was waving it in one of the workers faces. He rolled his eyes when they didn't give him a response, and only eyed him with fear and worry, "I said if you wanted to smoke to do it outside in the alley where we dump the trash. I have sprinklers in here and if they go off because you want to be incompetent, I'll have no choice but to fire you Arturo, is that what you want?" He threw the cigarette into the sink where the water was currently running.
The Hispanic man Arturo shook his head, "No sir," He spoke in a heavy Spanish accent, "I'm sorry, it won't happen again, I swear."
Skywalker let out a heavy breath through his nose as he crossed his arms over his chest, "Alright, but this is your second strike. If I see you smoking in here again, or making out with Isabella in the freezer," He raised his brows and Arturo's cheeks flushed red with embarrassment, "Then you're out of here, understand?"
He nodded quickly, "Yes sir, thank you sir."
"Good. Glad we had this talk." Skywalker patted him on the back and went to walk away. He turned in my direction and his eyes instantly locked with mine and he momentarily paused before smiling, "Hello gorgeous, were you eavesdropping?" He asked with a head tilt as he walked in my direction with slow strides.
I shook my head in my defense, even though that's exactly what I was doing, "No actually, I came in here to get these." I grabbed the bin of glasses to my right and picked them up - only for him to place his hand on the corner and force me to set it back down.
I looked up and he was staring down at me, his eyes scanning me from head to toe, "I see you got the shoes, they look nice," He flickered his gaze up to meet mine, "Is there anything else you may have received recently?"
I know exactly what this narcissist is asking for — acknowledgement, "Yes I did and thank you for the basket, but it wasn't necessary."
He slowly smirked with the shrug of his shoulder, "Gifts are my love language, and I wanted you to know just how sorry I am for being an ass." He stepped closer, his body touching mine, causing me to take one step back, "Did you like the gifts though?" He gently tapped the bottom of my chin to lift my gaze higher.
My breath got caught in my throat by how close he was, and I could feel my heart beating heavily into my chest. It was as if his sapphire eyes held me in a trance, but I quickly swallowed to compose myself, "Yes, but next time a simple sorry would be enough." I attempted to pick up the bin of cups again to get away from him, but again, he forced it back down onto the counter.
"I'll take it, gorgeous. I want you to go and make sure the VIP section is in perfect condition, I have a special guest coming tonight and he's a picky little asshole when it comes to cleanliness." He sighed, picking up the bin himself and walking past me. But not without a slight brush against my body that I know was on purpose.
I smiled when he had his back to me; special guest? If I'm lucky, it's someone of great importance when it comes to his hidden occupation.
He paused for a second and turned to face me, my smile quickly dropping before he noticed it's villainousness, "And I missed that pretty little face of yours by the way." He winked before exiting the kitchen.
I breathed out a low exhale to relieve my racing heart. I expected him to him to be a flirt, but that didn't prepare me for how charming it would actually be; not that I'm even thinking of him in that way. But a handsome man like him flirting - well any girl would feel a little stunned and flattered.
Plus those spellbinding eyes of his weren't really helping either.
I took a deep breath and composed myself before leaving the kitchen to do what he had asked of me.

Tonight was going to suck.
The club has barely been open for a couple of hours and I could already feel the blisters forming on my feet. I was doing fine for awhile. But after walking up and down the stairs for bottle deliveries to the VIP section, the pain caught up with me.
"You alright?" Ahsoka knitted her brows together as I got back behind the counter and shifted my weight off of my feet by leaning against the counter.
I shook my head, "Wearing these new shoes tonight was a horrible mistake, my feet feel like they're going to fall off," I complained with a long exhale before standing back up straight and preparing to take an order. I may be in pain, but I still had a job to do and I couldn't disappoint. Besides, if I can walk an entire block after being shot in the leg, I'm positive I can get through this too.
She glanced down to the shoes, "They look cute on you though." She spoke with enthusiasm and I couldn't help but chuckle with a slow head shake before asking the waiting man what he wanted.
He leaned against the bar and I could practically feel his egotistical testosterone radiating from him. He was big, body builder big and it's obvious he had a cocky attitude by the way he slowly eyed me up and down, "Are you on the menu? Cause I'll pay for some time with you."
I smiled, "Possibly, but you can't afford this honey so choose something you can."
According to Piett, us girls and guys are allowed to insult the flirty customers that make us feel uncomfortable with unwanted advances. Just as long as we don't cuss and do it with a smile on our face, which seems reasonable to me.
He looked taken aback my my response and stood up straight with a clearing of his throat, "White Claw, mango."
I eyed him up and down just as he did to me, "Sounds about right." I turned around and grabbed what he asked for before handing it to him just like that, "Five bucks."
He grabbed it with knitted brows, "You're not gonna put it in a glass?" He asked arrogantly.
"Canned or bottled beverages don't go in glasses, only hard liquor and tapped beer." I informed him as I held my hand out, "Once again, that'll be five dollars please." I repeated myself with a sigh, feeling the blisters on my feet throb.
Without handing me anything, he opened the can and took a sip, "Does your boss pay you to act like a cunt?"
I dropped my hand down and raised my brows, so this is it, my first asshole, "I'm sorry, did I hurt your ego by not stroking it?" I tilted my head to the side as I pressed my tongue to the inside of my cheek.
He rolled his eyes, "No, you're just being a bitch to me for no reason."
I scoffed, "No reason? You offered to pay me to screw you like I'm some prostitute." Men like this disgust me. He insulted me instantly and yet I'm the bitch for not putting up with it, "Your comment was out of line and is also considered sexual harassment."
He took another drink of his beverage with his eyes locked on mine, "Not my fault you look like one." He turned away to leave without paying, "Whore." He mumbled and even though the music was loud, it was hard to miss.
"Hey, you have to pay for that!" I called after him, gaining the attention of a view people around. After he took only a few steps, he instantly paused with his back to me. But instead of turning around, he slowly began to walk backwards.
I knitted my brows in confusion on why he wasn't just turning around, but the closer he got, the more I understood. The music had suddenly stopped and the crowd that was close to the bar area, moved away with their eyes watching the two men.
Skywalker was waking slowly towards the man who had insulted me, his eyes holding a menacing glare that I'd never seen before.
