Your POV
———
I shiver as I stand in the rain, clutching my jacket close to my body for warmth.
I had left my workplace and now I'm just standing by a lamppost, just waiting for my extremely late bus to come by and pick me up. I've been standing here for almost an hour now.
Everything on my being is soaked, and the rain is so heavy that it's a little hard to see.
I stare ahead of me, completely zoned out. I don't even hear the door behind me click open and shut, despite it having a little bell to notify when somebody is entering the café.
My mood is pretty bad right now, and I'm startled as I feel something warm fall onto my shoulders and head. Someone pulls the hood onto my head and makes sure the coat is covering me well. I hold the coat closed in front of me as I look up to meet the eyes of my savior from the cold pelting rain.
It's a male with black hair and glasses, his eyes a piercing gold color staring straight into my own EC ones. He looks stoic, but I can tell that he cares deep down. I smile up at him and say over the loud pattering of the rain, "Thank you so much! What's your name?"
He seemingly smirks slightly as he introduces himself, "You're very welcome, and my name is Claude Faustus. May I have the pleasure of knowing yours?"
I feel my cheeks heat up by the question, as it was asked in such a sweet kind of manner. I can't even explain it. "Of course. My name is YN LN."
Claude nodded and the bus finally started barreling towards the stop I'm at. He's about to leave when I hurriedly grab his sleeve. He pauses and turns to face me, curious.
"Wait! Don't you want your coat?"
He shakes his head, "Give it back to me later. Check the pockets, too. Until next time, my lady."
And with that, he heads back into the small café. Confused, I turn back to the bus and hop on before it can leave me behind.
I pay the driver and sit down, patiently waiting for my stop as I zip up the coat. I do as Claude said and check the pockets, only to find a piece of paper in the right one. I unfold it and read it to myself, finding out that Claude had put his name and number on it so we could stay in touch.
And guess what?
We did.
I returned his coat back to him and we began hanging out a lot, getting to know one another and having fun. I even got him to smile at me once!
Now it's about a year later, and I'm standing in the rain yet again as I wait for my bus in the same spot as I was before. In front of the café where Claude works, and where he had come from to let me borrow his coat that day.
I get a sense of déjà vu as I pull my jacket to me tighter, trying to conserve my warmth.
I'm blanked out again, lost in my thoughts when the door to the café behind me opens. A familiar coat is placed on my shoulders and the hood is pulled over my head. I look up at the person, snapped out of my thoughts, only to realize that it's Claude.
Just like a year ago.
I smile at him and he holds me close to his chest, sharing his body heat with me. He gently grabs my chin and makes me look up at him. I meet his eyes and we slowly lean in, our eyes fluttering shut as our lips collide.
His touch is soft and caring, which I find that I crave. The kiss is slow and passionate, with a mix of the rainfall to the already blissful taste. His arms wrapped around my frame, my hands holding his coat closed.
The most perfect moment of my entire life exists right here, right now. I wouldn't change it for the world.
