Your POV
———
Y'know, most might think that this town is old and dirty, when really it's the exact opposite. Here you can dance, sing, chant, and more! Most folks here work as waiters, in the mines or in the industry.
As for me, I help my aunt with her wood shop. I live with her, and have to make my keep somehow.
I've heard that two fellas are being sent down here by the Queen to check us out. Well, more of the so called "city slickers," but we don't have those. If you're confused, let me explain.
They're basically untrustworthy and unprincipled swines that are associated with urban dwellers. Or it could mean someone who lives in a city and has no experience or knowledge about life in the countryside. More so living in the countryside. Either way, we don't get a lotta those 'round here.
Although, what I've heard are simply just rumors flyin' 'round town. That don't mean all of it is the truth.
Anyway, I think that outta be enough explanation for now.
At the moment, I'm helpin' my aunt run her wood shop. From the window at the front of the shop I can see the local bar, multiple drunk rich women over there hollerin' 'bout the booze whilst hangin' 'round the non-rich folks.
I roll my eyes at them playfully, shaking my head slightly before looking away and continuing my task.
I don't particularly like the rich people, but that's more so in the city. Here the rich folk don't give a damn 'bout much and are kind, at the very least.
Not liking rich people from the city is why I'm not very fond of the rumors spreadin' through the town. Part of them is that these two fellas are rich city folk, meaning I already despise them.
I know I shouldn't judge someone without meetin' them, but I can't help it. I just hate rich city folk, especially if they know nothin' 'bout the countryside lifestyle and complain when they actually have to work like us.
If the rumors are true, I hope they stay far away from me.
Flashback - Ciel's POV
"I wish for you, my loyal Guard Dog, to go to this town to see what the people there are like. My spider has also heard of this assignment, so he will be tagging along with you."
I sigh, bowing. "Of course, my queen."
Present - YN's POV
I eventually get off from work at noon, leaving me to do my other daily chores and grocery shoppin' for my aunt and I.
I scrub the floors, dust the furniture, then go outside and do some weedin' in the garden. I finish all that at three o'clock in the afternoon. I then head out to get the groceries, waving at my aunt on my way out.
As I reach the marketplace, I notice a huge crowd surroundin' somethin'. My curiosity gets the better of me and I push my way through them, getting a better view. Muttering, "Pardon, excuse me, sorry."
When I finally get sights on what's goin' on, I immediately scoff and turn to leave.
Rich city folk, two fellas my age.
The rumors were true.
Unfortunately, the two men noticed me and called me as I left. What do they want with me?
I frown even further and continue rushing out of there, trying to escape them. I succeed, and then blend in with the folks 'round me as I shop.
I get all of the items on my list, checkin' everythin' off as I go along. Once I'm finished, I start making my way home.
Luck just doesn't seem to be on my side, as I manage to bump into those two city folks again. They hadn't noticed me yet, so I just keep my head low and pass them a few feet away.
I almost make it, but then one spots me. Seriously, what do they want from me? They chase after me, and I huff before stoppin' in my tracks and facin' them.
I put on a fake, bitter smile as I ask, "Do you need somethin', fellas?"
The blonde one pouted and asked, "Why did you run from us earlier?"
I then drop the fake act and reply coldly, "Why do you care? I'm just one person."
Then the blue haired one speaks up. "My apologies, my lady. We just got intrigued by you when you left with such a disgusted look on your face. May we ask why you looked that way when you saw us?"
"I see..that's still a little creepy, don't 'ya think? And you may, but I really don't think that's much of 'yer business." And with that, I turned and left.
That was a weird interaction. I still don't quite understand why they would be intrigued by me. I'm sure I'm not the only one who left with the same expression I did.
I shrug it off as I reached my home, knowing I might never see them again anyway.
Oh, how wrong I was.
I kept seein' them 'round town, and every time they spotted me, I'd avoid 'em. I'm still put off by their actions from when we first met.
I can't avoid them forever, however.
One day they corner me, and this forces me to speak with them. Though, they don't retrain me in any way whatsoever, so I'm not being threatened.
"Why do you hate us?"
"Why are you following me?"
"We're just intrigued by you."
"Why are you intrigued?"
"We just are!"
"Then don't be! It's creepy as hell, man! By what's worse is 'ya both stalkin' me!"
After a miniature argument between us three, we work things out and are calmer now. They explained to me their job, and I'm still a bit distant because of it.
"What is there to investigate 'bout the folks livin' in this town?"
"The Queen is just interested in learning more about you guys, that's all," Alois responds.
"She wants to be able to become acquaintances with this town," Ciel adds.
I raise an eyebrow, still suspicious. "Acquaintances? What for?"
"Nothing bad, if that's what you're thinking!" Alois replies hurriedly.
I shake my head, "That's obviously what I'm thinkin' 'bout, mate. This is my town, and I don't want nothin' to happen to it or the people livin' in it."
Timeskip- A few weeks later...
I know it's only been a few weeks since I met these two fellas, but I've already grown so much closer to them than I ever thought I would do city folk.
I think I might have a...crush on one of them.
Ciel is stoic, but very considerate and passionate. He also has a tendency to blurt out something he doesn't mean if he's mad enough.
Alois is cheerful, but has mood swings and is unpredictable. Though he can be very sweet.
Who do I love..?
———
You choose! Ciel or Alois? I'd personally choose Ciel. Alois is just too unpredictable and kinda scary for me.
Sorry this doesn't have much romance, but I'm tired and it's a bit late right now. I hope ya'll enjoyed nonetheless. :)
