I stare up at the ceiling, my salty tears stinging my eyes as they fall down my cheeks in uneven rivers. I can feel the damned flower at the back of my throat, and it only makes me want to cough more.

So I sit up and cough it out. The blood splatters onto my arm as the grayish-white flower petals follow closely behind. I sniffle and go to wash them off, my head pounding.

I sigh and decide on getting the surgery to remove the flower.

I've been putting it off since I wanted to see if Agni would somehow change his mind and love me back, but he hasn't. He's in love with that other girl. I can see it in his eyes.

I never even had to ask him whether he loved someone else or not. He just kissed that girl in front of me.

It wasn't a mistake.

He loves her.

Not me.

It's time I take charge and get that surgery to save my life, and remove my feelings for him. I can't be loving him if he's with someone else, anyway. It feels wrong.

I get dressed and leave, getting an appointment made and am rushed into the surgery right away.

Goodbye my love for Agni, hello a fresh start.

Despite all of the pain I went through, I wouldn't change a thing about my past. I've learned a lesson about love.

If someone doesn't love you back, just let them go. For their sake and for yours.
