Davey

About three days have passed since I last saw Davey and it doesn't surprise me at all when he finally comes back to school looking paler than usual. Davey's a pale boy by nature but now that I see him again, he's paper white. Even his eyes changed from light blue to white. I've seen this effect on people before but it usually changes their eating habits and teeth. When he smiles now, his teeth are the same and he seems to be eating normally. Why is he not reacting the same way my other victims have? He should be in agonising pain and nearly dead. What's so different about him?

Today, he has to sit next to me. The teacher blabbers on about something and eventually gives up at keeping the class quiet. The room fills with mindless chatters of teenagers so I take the opportunity to talk to Davey.

"Why did you want to die?"

I ask him, keeping my voice as quiet as I can. His white eyes turn to meet my yellow. He doesn't answer but instead asks another question.

"What am I?"

You're a monster.

"What do you mean?"

I want him to tell me what has happened to him so that I can find his weak spot and finish him off.

"Look at my eyes. Why have they changed? Why do I look at my friends and get hungry? What have you done to me?!"

He whispers angrily and I see rage in his ghostly eyes.

"You didn't answer my question.  Why should I answer yours? "

There's a short pause before he answers.

"There's too much pain in life."

I look at him as he says that. Ever since I came to the jail planet all I've wanted to do is kill. Kill everything I see, but now as I look at Davey I have a different feeling. One that I haven't felt in a long time. Pity.

We don't say anything for the rest of the day. I catch him staring at me a few times but I don't say anything.  Normally I'd say something or punch him to death but Davey is just...so different.

I don't give this any more thought after school as I go to the forest. Today, I'm eating double.

The forest is quiet and I sit motionless on a tree branch. I tune in my lycan senses which help in finding prey. Human senses are incredibly useless. I hear a faint rusling coming my way. It's dinner time.

The man is holding a gun, probably gone on a midnight hunt. Well so have I. He walks over a stick,  making it snap, and I hear a low growl not far from here. Looks like I have competition. The man also heard the growl and points his gun into darkness. Humans are so vulnerable when in fear, and there's so many of them. This exile is not too bad.

A pair of eyes shine through the darkness and the man fires. The creature steps out of the shadows to reveal, much like myself, another lycan. There have been other exiles sent here in the past but....those white eyes are just too familiar. Davey steps closer to the man. His lycan shape is muscular despite his human look and his fur is grey. I've heard of grey lycans but I've never seen one before,  they're stuff of legends. And that's my dinner. I quickly shift into lycan and jump from the branch. Davey sees me and so does the man, he runs away leaving us monsters to deal with each other. I must eliminate my competition.

"Go away Davey."

I say in my most menacing voice. His eyes soften and he falls to the ground. This ape is even stranger that the others....
