Epilogue
1 year later
Emma walked down the stairs to find Killian sitting on the couch watching netflix.
Emma smiled and went to sit with him.
"Morning Love." Killian said pulling her close and placing a kiss on her cheek.
"Morning. Killian, I have a surprise for you."
Killian raised an eyebrow, "What is it Swan?"
Emma couldn't contain her smile.
"I'm pregnant."
Killian smiled from ear to ear.
He picked her up bridal style and spun her around.
"That's amazing! We're gonna be parents Swan!"
Emma laughed and nodded.
The two smiled at each other and Killian placed a long but sweet kiss on Emmas lips.
9 months later
"What should we name her?" Emma asked Killian as they both looked down on their new baby girl.
"What about Marali?" (Pronounced Ma-ral-e)
Emma smiled.
"I love it. What does it mean?"
"Swan like, just like her mother." Killian grinned.
Emma and Killian both looked down at their perfect daughter.
Marali had Killians bright blue eyes and Emma's long blonde hair. She was simply beautiful.
"Marali..." Emma whispered happily.
4 years later
"Daddy I don't wanna go to school!" Marali complained as Killian tried to get her ready for her first day at Preschool.
"Come on love, it's only until 1 and then mommy and daddy will come pick you up and we can go get ice cream!"
Marali stopped pouting.
She looked up with a curious look in her eyes. "Ice cream?"
Emma walked in the room and stood next to Killian.
"Only if you get ready in time."
Killian smiled at Emma and placed a hand on her stomach.
"How's our little pirate?"
Emma smiled, "Good. I think he is ready to meet his big sister."
Killian grabbed Emmas hand and the two went down stairs to finish making breakfast.
Ten minutes later Marali hopped down the stairs with her backpack in her hand.
"Mommy! I'm ready to go!"
Emma laughed and went to pick up her todler.
"Are you? What about breakfast?"
"Cake?" Marali asked with wide eyes.
Emma and Killian both laughed.
"Not today love, how about....pancakes?!" Killian said coming next to his perfect family.
"Yeah!!"
The three of them ate their breakfast and then went to drop Marali off at her new school.
Another 10 years later
"Dad! Why can't I go to Jens party?!"
Killian sighed. "Because I don't know anyone going Marali! I'm doing this to protect you!"
Marali stomped upstairs and slammed the door shut.
Killian pinched the bridge of his nose. Just then Emma and Henry walked inside.
"Daddy!! I scored a goal during practice tonight!" The ten year old exclaimed running into his father's arms.
"That's great lad! Your becoming quite the soccer player aren't you mate?"
Henry smiled up at his parents before nodding and running upstairs to tell his sister about his day.
Emma placed a kiss on Killians lips.
"You look like you've had a rough night. What happened?"
"Marali is upset because I won't let her go to her friends party."
Emma stifled a laugh.
"14 year olds can be quite the handful I suppose."
"She's never been mad at me before." Killian frowned.
Emma grabbed his hands.
"Hey, she'll get over it soon. She needs to realize that some things aren't gonna go her way. Why don't you want her at the party."
"I've never met anyone going or the girl having the party."
Emma scanned Killians face. "That's not all... is it?" She asked.
"And there will be boys..."
Emma giggled, "There it is."
"I agree with you, she should probably wait until she starts going out every night to party. Maybe when she's 15."
Killian frowned. "That's only a month away."
Emma laughed and kissed him again. "Better get ready to meet some guy friends."
4 years later.
Killian finished carrying out the last box and put it into Marali's car.
"Are you sure you don't want us to drive you to campus and help you unpack?" Henry said to his big sister who he was very attached to despite being 14.
"I'm sure kiddo. I'll be back before you know it though! And you can call me or Skype me whenever you want!"
Henry had tears in his eyes.
"You won't ignore me?"
Marali shook her head.
"Never. And you can come stay with me all the time if you need to get away from these two." She motioned to her parents who were watching from behind the kids.
Killian faked a hurt expression.
"Hey!"
Henry smiled a little bit and gave his sister a giant hug.
"I'll miss you."
"I'll miss you too Henry."
When Henry finally let go Emma and Killian walked over.
"Will you be ok driving down there?" Emma asked.
"Yes mom, I'll be fine. I'll call you when I get there and check in."
"Don't do anything I wouldn't do." Killian teased.
Marali stuck her tongue out at him and gave both her parents hugs.
"I'll be back Labor day weekend so don't miss me too much!" Marali yelled while pulling out of the driveway.
"Bye guys! I love you!!" She shouted while driving away.
Emma rested her head on Killians shoulder as she watched her daughter drive away and wiped a tear off her cheek.
3 years later
Emma and Lillian were sitting next to Henry who was doing nothing but staring at the pile of letters on front of him.
Henry had made his high school soccer team his freshman year and had many scouts come to his games his senior year.
Now they just had to see who wanted Henry on their team.
Henry had been waiting to open them so that they could Skype Marali and she could find out with them.
The phone rang and Henry answered it and turned video on.
"You ready to find out bud? " Marali asked.
Henry gulped and didn't respond.
Killian put a hand on his sons shoulder.
"One of them will accept you Henry. Your a great player. "
Not wanting to wait any longer Emma grabbed a random letter from the stack.
"UGA, this wasn't your top pick was it?"
Henry shook his head, "No but it has a great campus so I applied anyways."
"Open it already! " Marali encouraged.
Henry ripped open the envelope and unfolded the letter.
His eyes scanned the letter and his face grew into a smile.
"I got a scholarship! Full ride and they want me to play on the team!"
Emma hugged her son. "That's amazing! Now what do you say we open the rest of these and see what tour options are. "
Henry got into a lot of the schools. Sure a few of them were declines but he was thrilled to have so many options. Now he just had to open his top schools letter. NYU.
Henry insisted that he couldn't read it and handed the letter to his parents to read.
"Dear Henry Jones,
Our establishment is pleased to invite you to join New York University on a full athletic scholarship and offer you a place on our men's soccer team. We hope to hear back from you soon. " Emma read aloud.
They all congratulated Henry and celebrated with his favorite dinner.
10 years later
Both Henry and Marali had met their true loves, Marali had two daughters while Henrys wife was pregnant with a baby girl.
Emma and Killian were still as happy as ever. Today was Emma and Killian's 33rd anniversary. The two were going to the beach for a week and sailing on a boat they had rented for another week.
"Ready to go love? " Killian asked walking down the steps.
Emma stood up from the couch and smiled.
"Yup! "
Despite their old age, the two still maintained their youthful looks and childish behaviors.
They drove to the beach and went to the hotel room to rest for a moment before unpacking and then going for a hike.
"I love you Killian. " Emma said sitting on her husbands lap and leaning on his shoulder.
"Aye Lass, and I love you. I always will. " Killian replied kissing her forwhead.
15 years later.
Cancer. That's what had ended 47 years of blissful marriage and true love.
Emma had fought for a year but when it had gotten worse she hadn't been able to beat it.
Killian was heartbroken. He didn't see how he could go on without his best friend and the love of his life by his side.
Today was Emma's funeral. It was going to be a small ceremony and it would be held in a small cemetery near where they first met.
Killian stared out the window during the procession. They passed the ballroom they had first met in. His eyes teared up at the memory.
He remembered how his vision had gone blurry when he first made eye contact and how he had followed her of the ballroom to make sure she was all right. How they texted throughout that night to dim the boredom of speeches and boring conversations.
He could barely remember the color of the ballroom anymore. Especially now that all color had disappeared the moment her heart stopped. That was the worst moment of his life.
Killian sat on a chair watching his loves chest slowly move up and down and he held her weak fragile hand.
Even now at her weakest state she was beautiful.
Emmas voice came out raspy "can you get me some water? "
Killian nodded. "Of course."
"Thank you. I love you. "
Emma had made a habit of telling him that anytime she spoke to him, wanting to make sure she told him again just one more time if she died while he was gone.
Killian rushed to get the water. Unfortunately there was a small line.
At last he got the water and began making his way back to the room. That's when a sharp pain in his chest struck and his vison went blurry.
Everything went black for a moment and then the color was gone.
Killian dropped the cup of water on the ground in shock before running to Emmas room while screaming her name.
He burst through the door to find several nurses standing over her and the heart monitor silent.
"I'm sorry Mr. Jones, she's gone. "
Killian dropped to his knees next to his love and sobbed while clutching onto her hands as of somehow if he held on tight enough she would come back.
He slowly stood up and leaned down to her face.
"I love you so much Emma. And I will love you until my dying breath and beyond that. Goodbye. " He whispered before placing a final goodbye kiss to her lips that were now dry and soft.
As they arrived at the graveyard Henry and Marali came up with tears in thier eyes as well.
"I miss her too dad. " Marali cried into her fathers chest.
Killian could do nothing but hug her. He was too upset.
He barely focused during the funeral. He knew none of these people knew Emma like he did. And hearing them speak of her like they did made everything worse.
After the funeral Killian said goodbye to his family and sat in front of Emmas grave.
"Hey love, I really miss you right about now. I don't understand how I'm supposed to go on. You were the light of my life and you made me see everything and its beauty. Now all I see is darkness. Its like all the happiness has been drained from me and I know I won't ever get it back. You were the love of my life and my best friend and I'm terrified to have to go on without you. I don't want to make new memories or forget the old ones. I just want you back Emma. More then anything in the world. I love you. And I always will. "
Killian sat there and cried for the rest of the day.
For the next two years Killian came and talked to Emma's grave every day. For hours on end.
Until one day he was finally put at peace when he passed away due to the same cancer that killed his wife.
They finally got to see each other after a year of suffering.
"Hey you. Ive been waiting for you!" Emma joked when she first saw him.
"Emma? Is it really you?" Killian asked with tears in his eyes.
"Yeah, its me." She laughed.
Killian looked around. They were in the ballroom they had met in. And all the color was back.
He smiled at Emma with true happiness for the first time in years. He ran up to her and kissed her.
They both looked exactly as they had when they were 28.
Killian grabbed Emma's hand. "May I have this dance? "
"Of course." Emma replied as they danced around the ballroom in pure bliss.
Finally together again and this time it was forever.
