Running Into You

Thanks guys for 7,000 reads on The Jazz Cafe. I hope you're enjoying the sequel!

Tom's Perspective-

Tom started whistling along to the song he was listening to as he walked towards The Jazz Café.

He was hoping to run into Jimmy, but he was surprised to see that Jimmy had taken the day off.

Instead, a ginger haired guy was working with Eliot.

"Hey there!" The guy smiled as Tom walked in.

"Welcome to The Jazz Café, what can I get 'cha?" He asked.

"Er- to be honest, I just came here to see my friend. But I see you're here taking his spot."

"Oh! Sorry! Jimmy's your friend, right?"

Tom nodded, "Yep! He's my friend's boyfriend actually."

"Oh, cool!"

Tom smiled and then looked up at the menu which was on a chalkboard.

"Well, since I'm here, might as well get something." He muttered and the guy smiled.

"Yeah! What would you like?"

Tom hummed.

"Well, what do you recommend?" He asked.

The guy looked up the chalkboard, talking to himself under his breath.

He then looked back at Tom.

"Well, for you I would recommend the honey lemon tea."

Tom smiled, "I'll take that then!"

The guy smiled back, "Great! Just give me a sec to make it, alright?"

Tom nodded and the guy walked away.

Tom looked around and saw that the café was pretty slow, despite it being so popular.

A couple minutes later, the guy returned with the tea.

"Here you go!" He said, handing it to Tom.

"Oh, thanks!" Tom smiled.

"Sure thing!"

Tom went to go sit down and he took out his phone.

He changed the song he was listening to and started to scroll through Pinterest.

He blew on his tea and took a sip of it.

He smiled, enjoying the taste of it as he looked at the cute art ideas on his phone.

About ten minutes later, someone sat down across from him.

Tom looked up and smiled as he saw the ginger haired employee.

"My break just started." The guy explained, "And I really don't like Eliot, so I hope you don't mind me sitting here."

Tom shook his head, "It's fine! Er- I just realized I never got your name."

"Jay! You?"

"Tom."

They shook hands and Tom then put down his phone.

"The tea's really good, by the way." Tom said.

"I'm glad you like it!" Jay smiled, and Tom blushed.

They started chatting and at the end of Jay's break, Jay took out his phone.

"What's your number? I'd like to chat; you seem really cool!"

Tom smiled and typed his number into Jay's phone.

"Thanks! I'll send you a text later, okay?" Jay asked, winking.

Tom blushed and nodded, watching as the ginger walked away.

At least he seems better than Xornoth. He thought, hoping that maybe he and Jay could be something.

Something better than what he and Xornoth ever were.

So let's just end this story here! Right?

...I'm not going to do that, but the reason why I want to is because the next chapters are going to be angst, angst, and more angst. No fluff.

So uh- have fun with that! :)
