Dream Flashbacks
Scott's Perspective-
Please listen to Late Night Love Letter by Luxid.
Scott had a bit of trouble falling asleep later that night, but once he did, he was out like a light.
-
"Hey babe! What brings you to my place?" Eliot asked, answering the door.
I looked down nervously, "Er- we...we need to talk."
Eliot's smile flickered, but he pulled it back up almost immediately.
"About what babe?" Eliot asked, smiling sickly as he made me look at him.
I got nervous but my anger took over me.
"You're cheating on me." I said flatly.
Eliot raised an eyebrow, "Am I?"
I nodded, smacking his hand from under my chin.
"I saw you, Eliot. You can't lie to me."
Eliot's eyes twitched.
"Tell me the truth! You're cheating on me with that Yara girl! And you know what, you can go be with her now since we're over!"
"You don't know what you're doing!" Eliot shouted.
"I do know what I'm doing! You brainwashed me and made it so I would only listen to you! You took control over me!" I shouted, tears threatening to splash down my face.
"I loved you, babe! I wouldn't do tha- "
"TELL ME THE TRUTH!"
There was a stinging silence after I shouted.
I sighed, "Tell- tell me the truth, Eliot."
Eliot's face hardened as he stabbed his finger into my chest.
"I'll tell you the truth," He snapped, "You're a bitch who is confused and is breaking up with me for no reason! I can make you happy, I can help you!"
I scoffed, "Yeah right! I know who you really are! Just leave me alone! We're over!"
I turned on my heel and stormed off.
Eliot pushed me so I fell to the ground.
I gasped and tried to catch myself, causing me to break my wrist.
"You. Little. Bitch!" I shouted, kicking him where it hurts.
I then picked myself up and ran, sobbing.
-
Scott groaned as he woke up.
It was the morning, but he felt as though night went too fast.
As he got up and got dressed, he remembered that he had a hang out with Tom later that day.
Come on Scott, all you have to do is be happy! Just ignore what you dreamt last night. That's it!
Scott tried to force a smile, but it faded as he sighed.
Let's just do this.
-
Scott smiled as he met Tom at the movies.
The same movies where he met Eliot on their first date.
"Hey...you okay?" Tom asked and Scott nodded.
Tom didn't look convinced, and Scott smiled harder.
"Come on, what's wrong?"
"Nothing!"
"Scott, I'm not dumb."
Scott hesitated before sighing.
"I'm sorry...I just...I'm getting really bad flashbacks with Eliot."
"Aw, I'm sorry Scott." Tom said, hugging Scott, "But he's not going to be bothering you anymore."
Scott laughed weakly, "Yeah, he is. He's here for the summer."
Tom's eyes widened, "What?!"
Scott nodded and caught Tom up with what had been happening.
"And why have you not told me this earlier?" Tom asked and Scott laughed.
"Sorry, Tom."
"Yeah! You should be!" Tom said, acting like he was mad.
Scott giggled as he and his friend walked into the movies.
"Hey," Tom said, bumping lightly into Scott, "Let's get some ice cream after the movie and we can talk."
Scott nodded, "Thanks."
-
"Alright, so what's bothering you with Eliot?" Tom asked as they walked out of the theatre.
Scott bit his lip, he was hoping Tom would've forgotten about that.
"I just...I'm remembering how he used to treat me. I ran into him, and he acted like nothing happened. Like we're cool after all of that. Like we're friends. I just- I hate it! I want him to leave me alone! One of the reasons we moved here was to get away from him!"
Tom's eyes widened, "You never mentioned that!"
Scott nodded sadly.
"Eliot's a bitch and I hate him; I hate him more than words can explain. The way I fell for him and didn't realize how bad he was. I didn't realize all the red flags; I thought it was love. I thought him controlling me and making it so I would only ever listen to him was love. And then he cheated on me."
Scott paused to take a deep breath, trying to steady his voice.
"I can't do this. I can't deal with him; I just want him to leave."
Tom nodded.
"And that movie theatre we were just at, that's the place where we had our first kiss. My first kiss with a bitch."
"Why didn't you say something?"
"Because you wanted to see the movie."
"I'd rather my friend be happy then watch a movie at a theatre he has trauma at."
Scott giggled and Tom smiled.
They ended up enjoying a day together, which helped Scott forget about his dream.
...mostly.
