Chapter#8

****

Lawson couldn't believe the idiocy of Luke. what an idiot to have gone out like that. If he was angry he should've dealt with that old bastard calmly, that would have been the smart thing to do. But of course,he was too hard headed to control his ever lasting anger. Far too emotional to control his anger, far too angry to give way to any other emotion.

look at what the idiot had done now,run of like a broken hearted lover. Why was Lawson thinking about love?love and Lawson were not two words to be used in the same sentence. He never wanted to fall in love. Not before in his twenty nine years of life, not once had he used the word "love",in fact love was the least used word in his life. He hated the word,he hated the word with great, unbelievable passion. For a man his age,he should've been chasing around skirts, tasting what his friends bragged about-except Luke,Luke never bragged about women,he never had the time to brag. His life was too complex for such frivolity-he didn't understand the game of love,he didn't understand the need to chase around women who couldn't differ between "North America" and "South America". He couldn't stand half brained women, and he especially couldn't understand the pathetic men running after them. Were big breasts more important than dignity?or was he just not "normal"?

No what had started thinking. He didn't have time for those thoughts,he should be finding Luke, not channelling his inner lovestruck poet.

He thought it smart to have send away Erica to find Luke,of course in the least expected place. He knew Luke would never go back to the antique shop in anger, maybe drink himself to oblivion but surely not the antique shop. He liked Dawson far too much to worry him. Especially not his current enraged mind.

Though now he had searched the usual clubs where Luke and he frequented. There was no sign of him there. Sadly instead of finding Luke among the club goers he had been pushed around in between a sea of drunk people,or wannabe dancers and because of that ,his shirt now had an odd smell coming from it. It was annoying him. A lot.

After no luck in the clubs he started  searching through the streets . What was he going to tell Carmen?the woman had dealt with her share of tragedies in life already. What more should she suffer?she loved her children with all her heart, she wanted her son to be happy. The son in question just need a good slap in the face ,which Lawson would be the one to give, that's if Lawson knew that Carmen wouldn't find out.

It was not extremely late in the night, that was a positive point in the situation. Who knew though,Luke had a tendency of making rash decisions every time he had a run in with the old bastard. Why he couldn't control himself, was an unsolved  mystery.

Lawson kept aimlessly walking through the streets hoping to catch Luke before he did something more stupid than before. Lawson didn't even realise where his steps were leading him, until he was at his destination. A place where he wanted to be,but didn't know if he should be. If he was even welcome.

He didn't understand himself,he knew he didn't 'love' anyone. Yet he was still outside her house. Which he knew was wrong. He shouldn't be here. He shouldn't want her.

Lawson had knocked the door without thinking,it was because he was very lost in his thoughts,he was lost in all his worries in all his miseries. Outwardly appearing as a stern man,who could careless if the world was ending. As long as he was doing his job correctly, and everyone under his supervision was also doing theirs without irritating him.

He was about to walk away, before the door opened, but it was already partially opened. He just hadn't noticed, until as he was staring in the eyes of the woman he wanted to call his woman, but she wasn't . She should not be his woman. She deserved better, far better than him.

"Mr.Lawson?what are you doing here? Is everything alright?"

She asked with her brows furrowed, and curiosity evident in her forest green eyes.

"You will call me Mr. Lawson even outside of the office?do I look that formal and emotionless to you you?"

Lauren quickly shook her head,"Oh no,no,no!I'm just a bit surprised!"

"I'm just kidding. Call me by name will you?"he told her with the briefest smile known to humanity, and in the most softest voice imaginable.

"Oh." She was positively dumbstruck and Lawson was not good with dumbstruck women,or women with any type of emotion, but on Lauren it was just very endearing. He couldn't help his small smirk at her discomfort. Lauren was always proper and carried herself in a very professional manner. Maybe he was a biased bastard. He felt that way every time he was near her or even thought of her. He also knew that she was not for him. It pierced his heart but he reveled in the bitterness. That's all GE had lived with. All he had known.

"Oh well Mr. And..Mr. Andrew. Uh,what may I help you with?"

"Well Lauren, firstly stop with the Mr. I feel as if I am Eighty years old. Lastly, have you seen or heard of Luke?"

"Sorry. I won't call you Mr.now. also,no I haven't seen or heard of Luke. Is everything alright?... Andrew?"

He was the one staring dumbly at her now,it was the first time she called him by his first name. To Andrew it felt like angels were singing but Lauren was worried. Lawson had never smiled,or ever come to her house or ask her,of all people, where Luke was. She also was worried about her heart,it was beating so fast she wondered if it would come out of her throat!

"Uhhum"Lawson cleared his throat.

Get yourself together man.

"Nothing don't worry.I'm sorry to have disturbed you this late at night. Its most idiotic of me.."

She giggled at him calling himself idiotic and it took so much restraint for Lawson to not stare dumbly again.

"..you have a good weekend,I'll see you at work."

He turned and walked down the street as fast as lightning. He knew if he had stayed,he would have kissed and her,the worst part was that he knew he wouldn't regret it either. It was a very alarming emotion. Lawson did not do kissing or simply emotions.

Lauren used to his dismissal, walked inside and locked the door behind herself. She was curious as to why Lawson was at her house.and this late.
