The next day Gowri took Sathya to her house and together they went to the commissioner office. Gowri explained how serious the issue is? Guruji has a strong political background and he has a lot of devotee from all over the world. Raghu might get a strong punishment for this, like life imprisonment or even the death penalty. Sathya was terrified to hear that from her but she couldn't believe that Raghu did this? How could he kill someone? He's not that kind of person! It's true Raghu is having anger issues but he can't kill someone. He's a Goodman! She thought still knowing that even a good man can kill someone if he was put in that situation.

She went to the commissioner office where they have investigating Raghu. Sathya waited before going inside the officer's room. She didn't feel angry or shame on Raghu but instead worried about him and the consequences they are going to face after this.

The inspector called them inside and they both went in. "Good morning sir, my name is Sathya," she introduced. The officer is a middle-aged man and he looked calm.

"Oh, sit," he told.

"What you're doing?" he questioned.

"I am working as a cook," Sathya told and added her hotel's name.

"And you are his cousin?" he asked Gowri and she nodded yes.

"Did you heard what he did?" he asked.

"Yes, I did. But I can't believe it, sir, he is not that type of man," Sathya talked in favour of Raghu.

"He himself confessed to everyone and there are a lot of eyewitnesses. He is a convict," the officer said.

Sathya doesn't know what to speak, she felt like she has no other way to save him.

"But he has done a big thing. Before surrendering he has given the details of the crimes that Guruji did in the past. So it's now becoming sensational," the officer added.

"I will give you a number, he is lawyer Mr Jeganathan. He's going to advocate for Raghu." The officer said and written the number in a paper and slide it on the table to Sathya. Taking that Sathya looked at him,

"Can I talk to Raghu?" she asked and he smiled.

"You can't. He is under high security. We can't let anyone talk to him until we remand him on the court," he replied.

Sathya accepted the answer.

"Actually Raghu didn't give your number, he doesn't want to contact anyone but we need to know about him that's why we took your numbers in his phone," he explained.

"Guruji has a lot of devotees. Even I was a devotee before but I came to know that he's not a good man. And reporters are waiting outside don't tell anyone how you're connected to Raghu if you don't want to involve much in this case," he added.

"I need to know a few things? What type of person he is?" he asked Sathya.

Sathya looked at Gowri and then turned her gaze to the officer, "He's a good person. His father was a military man but his parents died when he was very young. Then Gowri's father looked after him and he studied in Coimbatore staying in a hostel," Sathya told.

"He's an athlete sir. He even got a gold medal in commonwealth games," Sathya added recalling everything.

"Is it? Which year?" the officer curiously asked.

"2006,"

"Oh, he didn't continue his sports then?"

"No sir, his health was not good to participate in the Olympics. Then he concentrated on his studies and he got a job in a famous car manufacturing company. We married eight years back, but he divorced me in three years to join in the Ashram. We have a son."

"Why he divorced you?" he questioned folding hands across his chest.

"I don't know the exact reason at that time, but now I think it's because of this Guruji. He always wanted to start his own business and I encouraged him to leave his job and pursue his dream. He was interested in designing car engines and he sends his designs to a famous company in Mumbai. They called him and approved his idea by putting an agreement that he should entirely give all the rights for twenty lakhs. He agreed and worked with them. But after the release, the model was a hit. He started feeling like he took the wrong decision because he got lesser shares. He couldn't accept this failure and starts to feel insecure which resulted in fights between us he becomes distanced from the family. Then he went to this Guruji for meditation therapy I think and there he was brainwashed. After two months he told that he's going to take Sanyasam and very adamant to separate so we divorced." Sathya explained. It felt like everything happened yesterday, the memories were still fresh even after these five years.

"Have you tried to contact him in between?"

"Gowri's father tried to contact him in person but the Ashram didn't allow him to talk. And I called him a lot of times but he didn't attend any of my calls," Sathya said.

"But once Raghu talked to my father regarding properties. He asked to transfer everything on his son's name immediately," Gowri told and Sathya was surprised to know that since she didn't contact them for a long time.

"Oh, did he told anything else?" he asked.

"No, he just said this and ended the call," Gowri replied.

The officer sighed, "How ironic that a well-educated person became a murderer at the end,"

"Actually I talked with Raghu, we are still investigating him. I can't disclose anything to you but you can talk to that lawyer. He was present during his confession," he told.

"Okay sir, I will talk to him. And I want to know what type of punishment he gets?" Sathya hesitantly asked in fear.

"I don't know, it's based on the judge but Raghu has a lot of evidence to prove that he's innocent," the officer said and Sathya's heart somewhat calmed to hear it.

"You need to stay here until we take this case to the court," he told and Sathya agreed.

Then Sathya came out and called the lawyer and he told he was coming to the commissioner officer as well and asked Sathya to wait for him.

Mr. Jeganathan was an experienced lawyer in the city. He must be around fifty. Seeing him Sathya had a strength that at least he's there to support Raghu.

They went to the canteen and Sathya told her life history to him and he listened to everything.

"In my opinion what Raghu did is purely a defence to save his life. He's been drugged, tortured and cheated there. If he didn't do that he won't be alive now,"

"What?" Sathya had an unbelievable expression.

"Yes, yesterday he told that he has come to know about the Guruji's crimes two years back and Raghu lost ten to fifteen lakhs of his money. He was trying to expose it in many ways but the Guruji and the Ashram representatives found about this and threatened that they will kill him if he tries to escape from the place."

"Raghu is mentally disturbed. They drugged him and prisoned him in a room without food and water for several days. Then he agreed to stay there. But why he killed is because of a sensational matter. The Guruji was tricking people to take Sanyasam in his Ashram. Then he will drug and brainwash them to get all their properties. And later he will kill them after some years and their organs sold to his foreign clients," Mr. Jeganathan said.

Sathya and Gowri were shocked to hear it.

"Why no one has complained about this previously. And there are a lot of people going there believing him. How could that happen?" Gowri asked.

"You see I have filled five cases against that Guruji in the last ten years but he has a strong political background. Politics can go anywhere and he easily escaped every time. I couldn't get strong evidence because he knows how to attract people psychologically and he has built an iron shield around his crimes. He influenced many politicians, actors, businessman and a few common people like Raghu. No one can turn against him. But Raghu did a risky job and exposed the crimes. Today I have given all the evidence to the media and I assure you that I will get him less sentence period." He said.

"My family was also a victim of this. My brother's daughters were studied in London and they went there for yoga classes. They are brainwashed to become Sanyasi. They didn't come back even after we begged them. Our brother's family was collapsed after that and now their two daughters are back to their home. It's because of Raghu," he said with a smile.

"These fake Gurujis attract people and show that they are having a lot of followers. To actually say there's no one will stand with them. Thankfully Mr. Commissioner has understood about the issue and was standing with us," he added.

After talking to him Sathya felt somewhat better. "Did you saw him? How was he now?" she asked.

"His hand and face were injured; his other devotees have beaten him after what he has done. But he will be alright," he answered.

"When can I meet him?" She asked.

"I don't know whether they will allow you to talk to him," he answered.

Sathya was eager to meet him. She can't help but pity for Raghu, he has gifted with great talents and he got a good family but his fate he couldn't keep it with him. Intentionally or unintentionally I am also a reason for his state, she thought but she doesn't have any idea to reconcile with him.

In the latter days, Sathya stayed in Gowri's house, Gowri and her husband were helpful to Sathya. Gowri said that she always wanted him to be happy, she pities him and wanted to help Raghu to come out of this. Because when her father was alive he used to advise her to support Raghu after his death. Sathya cried hearing that... Even having all the relations Raghu has suffered on his own.

On Monday Sathya went with the lawyer to meet Raghu, but they didn't allow her to go inside. She waited for a long time to see him. Then finally Raghu came out for taking him to the court. He looked at Sathya, his eyes welled with tears and she was stunned to see his face which is all injured. He has become lean and not like the Raghu she saw before five years.

Even in that pain, he volunteered a smile gazing at her beautiful face after a long time and she smiled back. Before she could speak a word, they dragged him to the police jeep.

The case was a bit controversial. Some people supported Raghu's act but some told that what he did to escape is wrong. But the judge noted the point that he did this for self-defense and Raghu was later sentenced for seven years.

While his case is going on the court Sathya couldn't stay there because Sanjay kept asking her and she went to continue her work. But she returned for the final judgment, she bought Sanjay with her.

Before going to jail, Sathya carrying Sanjay on her arms saw Raghu standing from afar. He smiled looking at them, there's a peace in his face and his eyes told how much he's repenting for his mistakes. She doesn't want to talk to him and pull him again into her life. He didn't try either because he doesn't have that courage to meet her face and speak to her.

She's there to tell him that they are happy and will be there if he needs them in case.

She badly wanted to ask him this -It will take just a moment to call her if he did then Sathya would have turned the world upside down to save him but he didn't do that.

After coming to know about that Guruji why he didn't leave the Ashram silently, at least for his family but she thought maybe he might have thought to never pull them into the mess that he created.

In his life, Raghu has done a few wrong decisions at an important time in his life but what he did lastly is something hard to explain. Sathya doesn't know exactly what are the things he experienced in that Ashram but he witnessed something terrible so that he took that decision to stand against that. Though she's afraid to justify his act she thinks what he did is for good. People do mistakes but that mistake won't define who they are actually, Raghu did mistakes but on the base, he's a good person by heart and Sathya has seen that a lot of times and she can never change that thought.

A few months later...

Sathya opened her eyes after reminiscing the last moment she saw Raghu. His eyes were still stuck in her head. She couldn't forget it. Sanjay was kept asking who he is and Sathya didn't answer properly and now she wanted to tell him the truth. They were in the park; Sanjay was playing in the swing. The evening sun rays was bright today.

"Amma!" he shouted and smiled brightly than the sunshine. Seeing him Sathya hesitated to tell the truth. Why should spoil his happiness, he's too young to know these things, Sathya felt. Whenever she tries to open up this she ends up fighting with herself.

Sanjay came to her after playing and Sathya watched him. Raghu left her but he has given a wonderful treasure in the form of Sanjay.

"Sanju, do you like me?" Sathya asked.

"Oh yes," he smiled.

"How much?"

"So so so much," Sanjay hugged Sathya and kissed her cheeks. At that moment she wanted nothing than this love he showered on her.

"Okay, go and play," she told controlling her tears.

My life and your dad's life is not the best one but I assure you to give a happy life, Sanjay. As long as I live in this world I won't let anything hurt you, She promised and smiled looking at her son and he smiled back standing under the blazing sunshine...
