Sathya was vacuously staring at the cement floor hugging her knees, her eyes were mild red in tired of crying, her cheeks were bloated, her nose has turned hot in the cold and she felt like freezing yet she doesn't want to move from that place. Right now she has so many thoughts running over her head as her dad's death was unbearable to understand.
The death of someone who's the reason for who you are has shaken her life greatly. Whatever Raghu says to calm her she couldn't put those memories that she shared with her father.
She again started crying because he left without a proper goodbye, he just vanished from her life without seeing her happiness and the thought that she can't see him ever again in her life is making her so emotional.
Sathya took the blame thinking that she isn't a good daughter and failed to protect her father, If she has taken a better profession then she would have earned more and that has saved his father's life, she regretted that in the every passing moment.
I wasted my life, Sathya cried, her tears rolled down and fell on her feet soon making it wet. Her hot tears turned cold; her guilt turned her as the saddest human in the world.
When Sathya heard Sanjay's intones she raised her head and wiped her eyes. She took her son and soothed him patting gently on his back. When he again fell sleep she placed him in the blanket and looked at her mother, she is sitting at the corner end of that room and silently letting out her tears.
Beside her, her dad's photo was placed. The smell of smoking incense-filled in the ambiance. When her mom gazed at her, "Are you hungry?" she asked since Sathya doesn't have anything from the afternoon.
"No," Sathya's grief-filled in every part of her body and there's no space for food. Both of them didn't eat properly for the past two days.
"Where's son in law?" she asked.
"I don't know," Sathya nodded having a blank expression.
When the room again dwelled in the silence, Raghu entered inside with food. The smell of food made Sathya's stomach to crawl.
"Mom, come let's eat," Raghu called his mother-in-law.
Sathya's mom nodded in no, "I am not hungry, son," she replied trying to smile to her son in law.
"You haven't eaten anything from the morning. Don't be like this please come," Raghu said holding her hand.
She reluctantly agreed and went out to wash her hands. Sathya stared at her husband, right now her only support to believe in herself is him. He is the one who's holding her hope and trust. If he isn't here then she couldn't think how much she would suffer in this life.
There's a stage where you feel like you don't have anyone or anything to rely on, you don't have a single thought to move forward and you might think dying is better than anything. Sathya didn't go to that sate because of him.
"Sathya, look at you." He sat beside her. "Don't cry, Sathya," he told putting his hand around her.
"Okay," she muttered.
They had the food in unendurable silence and grief.
Darkness was shrouding the light, the coolness made them stay where they are and the oozing sound of wind heard against their ears.
Sathya felt overwhelming after ceasing her tears so she came out of the house to catch her breath.
She took a seat on the rock and looked at the waterfalls in the far end, it was shining brightly in the moonlight.
"Sathya," Raghu came with a shawl and covered her.
Sathya looked at him in wonder. Love isn't just a word, it's an emotion that comes from the deepest part of your heart and flows all over you. If your love isn't true you can't show it in your actions.
Raghu loves her truly like she is a part of him, there's no one in his life and when Sathya came he felt that she is her everything. He knows what she's feeling right now.
Raghu didn't speak much in the past two days with Sathya and now he wanted to bring her out of this,
"Do you know, when my parents died? I am very young and I couldn't understand it, then I slowly I came to know what that means while seeing my hostel mates talking with their parents every day, there I realized I don't have anyone. I know how much it'll hurt to be in that position. Crying won't bring them back, Sathya. Think this way that your dad will be in a better place than here," Raghu told embracing her in sideways,
"Don't feel for anything that has happened. This is what life is, nothing will last forever even I am," he said and Sathya looked at him.
"Don't say that even as an example, please," she frowned.
He smiled, "You're already strong but you've to keep it till the end."
"If this is what meant to happen then no could change it," Raghu chuckled.
Sathya nodded her head slightly, "All I worried about is my Mom," she muttered.
"Ask her to stay with us in Chennai, she can't be alone here and don't worry about anything," he made her calm, she hugged him feeling very tiny like a small lifeless leaf.
🍁🍂🍂🍂🍂🍁
Life is all about ups and downs, a life without that is considered nothing. If dusk veils you then dawn will come to rescue you this is a cycle of events that happen in everyone's life. No one is going to stay forever in long-term pain and happiness. Everything has its place. Even it is for a wealthy person or beggar; happiness and pain are all about how they are taking it in their life. A person who doesn't take too much of both inside his head will always stay in the right mind and there starts a new life, new hope, and new vision to move forward. They won't slip from their path and lose the life that was gifted.
Sathya's life also got that turn; being sad and repentant for a month she finally started to move on from her father's dad. It's inevitable but since she understood that nothing going to be changed as Raghu said.
Her mother was living with them, and looking after her grandson and Sathya has finally found a job in a luxurious five-star hotel in the city. The salary is quite high compared to her previous salary.
Raghu came to know about this job through one of his colleagues. And asked Sathya to give a try. She is not at all interested but went there because of Raghu's compulsion. After entering she got that confidence back and in all god's grace she finally got the job. It's the same position, cooking assistant but her job timing is less and the work is not very demanding. She can leave at eight nevertheless it will take one hour to travel from her house to the hotel. Nothing comes so easy, right?
Sathya took a deep breath opening the bedroom window. The morning sun rays made her face to look brighter. She turned her side, Raghu was sleeping peacefully with Sanjay on top of him.
She didn't smile but felt happy inside, leaning back on the window she looked at both who came as a gift in her life. Sanjay soon going to celebrate his first birthday, he looks like his father but as a cuter, chubby, and better version of Raghu. There's no trace of Sathya in his face. Maybe she can find it in his walk, talk, and his gestures after he grew up.
Yesterday Sathya started to shoot for her YouTube channel, she wanted to continue it whenever she could but she knew how difficult that is and recently she got her 100k subscribers. Raghu and Sathya celebrated it with a Vanilla cake that's prepared by Sathya.
Sathya went back to bed and laid beside them, with a smile on her face she kissed both of their cheeks. "You're getting late for work," Sathya said to him.
"I know, don't disturb us for some time," he frowned but pulled her into his embrace. She stayed in his warmth, "Get up. We are getting late," Sathya said to him.
Raghu placed Sanjay carefully on the bed without disturbing his sleep. They got ready like every other day, Rush. Before leaving Sathya took a leisure moment to kiss her son, these few moments where she gives all her love to her son in that entire day. Every working mother will know its worth. It's so hard for Sathya to separate from him than compared to Raghu. A mom's love is always different compared to dad's.
Raghu dropped her at the bus stop and before leaving he tells these three things like a slogan. "Go safe and come home soon. Call me if you want anything!" He won't miss telling this. Maybe that might sound usual but those words explain a man's love. Occasionally he will stay until her bus arrives and talk about her work life.
And today he did the same. "Go safe on the bus and call me if you need anything,"
"Okay," Sathya nodded her head with a smile on her face.
"Do you want me to wait?" he asked seeing her smile.
"No, leave," she nodded her head.
"Then bye," he told and started his bike. Raghu going to quit his job after a month and started to work on his own business. It's risky but he decided to take the risk in the advice of his wife.
