i've been meaning to go into slight essay mode™‬  for this one so that would be why it took me so long to get this up lmaooo (i also just didn't look at this update for ages)

so here's to another ted talk you didn't ask for <3

the obvious: evelyn dane, anne hathaway's character, is dead, thus her resource being in black and white (but if you look hard enough, you can see some of her life hasn't gone entirely and it would be because kay's case is keeping her alive, in some way

the not-so-obvious: who did it ??? there's blood on kay's (daisy's character) face but it doesn't really indicate that she did it—for all we know, that could be someone else's blood on her. maybe she killed someone to get closer to her answer

here's a cover update bc the glass on the cover was starting to bother me and it really had no use being there and it was driving me nuts. also got rid of the stroke bc that was also useless and with it gone, there's a stronger connection between the two of them and they're more likely to be considered one entity instead of two

(i also personally enjoy how alike anne and daisy look so kind of extra spooky to look at bc at first glance, the cover might just look like anne or daisy)

(what do you mean that's not one person ???)

also look how lifeless kay's eyes are despite her being alive, clearly the case took a toll on her. also also you can see evelyn looking off in a different direction—adding onto the dead aspect—while kay is looking straight at the audience ahhhh

also slight type/font change to add a little cursive bc even when dead, rich people live amongst us (although evelyn isn't that kind of rich person)

i gave kay some of evelyn's hair (found in the corner) bc she disguises herself as her at one point, adding onto that "one person" motif (i don't think this really counts as a spoiler it just shows how unhinged she came to be while trying to solve the case??? i mean she also fucked eve's lawyer for info so there's that-)(i mean he's played by gabriel macht so i see why)

i'd take away the drop shadow but i feel like there's still a degree of separation between the two sisters bc while kay is unhinged, i don't think she'd go that far and practically steal her sister's identity to get revenge (which is funny to say bc i mentioned her dressing up as evelyn to lure the riddler in)
