I hope it's clear from context what the title is referring to.

I am not often given to writing short fiction--my brain just doesn't normally work that way--but I wrote this as an entry in the Science Fiction club's Friday Fiction Challenge #23. Unfortunately I had to chop this story down to <= 1,000 words which meant I had to cut a lot of good stuff out. Still, I think it works pretty well for what it does. I know there are a lot of strange words in this story, but believe it or not, those are real disciplines/concepts that people throw around. It might amuse you to look some of them up.

I hope you enjoyed the story. It made me smile to write it. I've had people tell me I should return to comedy, but life has made that difficult for me lately. Though I will probably use this "book" to collect various contest entries that interest me, I do have a few short fiction pieces I may just throw in for the fun of it.
