Nobody - Leico

Selena Gomez's Nobody is perfect for Leico. Just read, I have never been more proud!

Leo stared at Nico, his heart pounded, it was a galloping horse that ran away from all the dangerous in the world. Leo's whole body was awake and tingling, he was supposed to work on the small object on his working desk. Instead he stared at Nico who sat beside him, hunched over a book. While Leo sat on a chair with wheels and wheeled around to grab objects, Nico sat on the stone floor, knees up, head deep in a book. His dark hair was tangled and Leo was sure that some of Nico's hair got in front of his eyes making it hard for him to read.

Their days were usually like this. Nico hiding away in the bunker with Leo. Ever since Piper accidentally told the whole camp he was gay he had sealed himself away. Nico had closed everyone off except for Leo. Leo who had walked up to him right after Piper outed him and said that he was bisexual. It wasn't the same thing but he could understand why it felt so wrong in Nico's body when he couldn't come out in his own space. That was why Nico sat with him in the bunker, sneaking through the woods to sleep in cabin 13 during the night.

Nico who used to shadow travel, who played with the shadows and talked to the dead. That scary kid was long gone. This new one sat on the floor, reading, scared of the dark and small spaces. He hated seeing and being close to death. In the beginning of their friendship he had said that he felt death. He felt people die, it felt like someone snapped him with a rubber band.

"Stare much?" Nico asked looking up from the book, his piercing black eyes looked hollow but Leo knew him all too well, to know that Nico's eyes were full of sorrow.

"Sorry." Leo laughed cheekily and returned to his work.

"Are you okay?" he asked, silently.

Leo stared down at his hands this time, they didn't talk about that. They didn't talk about what happened during the war with Gaea, they didn't talk about Calypso, they definitely didn't talk about Leo's broken heart. Leo's heart that was the size of an elephant, and just like you do with an elephant in a room they ignored his heart. His pumping, pounding, scared heart that wanted to spill all the secrets out to the son of Hades. If only his heart could open his mouth and tell Nico everything he didn't dare.

"Yeah, why wouldn't I be?" Leo laughed and ruffled Nico's hair, it was as soft as silk.

Nico shrugged but still didn't return to the book, instead he got up, opened the last drawer in the work desk and put his book there. He walked away, quietly, like he hoped that he would never again make a sound. As if the sounds of his footsteps would shatter the earth and drag him down to his father's realm.

"Neeks?"

Nico turned around with a loop sided smile. "What happened to Death Breath, or Death Boy, or Scrawny McDeath, or... what is that other thing you usually call me?"

"Ghost King. It's your most famous nickname and you forget it?" Leo said offended, putting his oiled smeared hand over his heart, staining his camp half blood shirt.

"It was a long time since I was a king." Nico said gloomy. "What did you want?"

"Please don't leave me, it's still hours away for the dark and if you get to scared to walk in the woods I can summon fire Just please don't leave me."

Don't leave him like his siblings did, like rest of the camp did. Nico couldn't leave Leo alone here, alone forever in the quiet bunker, ever since he lost Festus the bunker had seemed to big. Too big and empty. Too full of noises that didn't make a sound. Too full of metal scraps, of tools, of building material but nothing useful to rebuild the only long term friend Leo has ever had.

Nico nodded and moved to lay down on the cough the two of them had brought into the bunker. They had had help from Travis and Connor. Nico had convinced that Chiron would freak if they stole on of the couches from the Big House, and that no one would find it in the bunker. The sons of Hermes had made a great job, that was also why the bunker had a mini fridge and a ton of snacks and sodas, all organic.

They had noticed that since they were in the bunker they couldn't hear the lunch horn. Meaning they had gone days without eating in the beginning.

"I love you." Leo said only it came out as "Thank you."

"I love you too." Nico replied only it came out. "I'm going to sleep for a while, wake me up if you need me."

Leo blushed as he continued to work, he had troubled breathing, his head was dizzy and he wanted to go lay down with Nico. To feel the son of Hades pressed up against him. Both of the scrawny, both of them the same height (okay Nico was three centimeters taller), Leo wondered what it would feel like to kiss him, to sleep with him. Not have sex, just sleep, in each other's arms, so, so close that Leo would feel Nico's chest rise and fall with his breath.

Leo finished the project and laid it in the finished pile that he kept close to the table.

He didn't want to pick up something new, this was just a lame way to get time to fly pass. His siblings were in the forges, ignoring their brother that had made a friend with the outcast. Hi siblings working, laughing together. They had said that nothing would tear them apart, as children of Hephaestus they knew what it was like to be treated badly. Apparently that didn't mean they could discriminate people for their sexualities.

Leo wanted to mend Nico's broken heart that bled all over the bunker. When Nico moved Leo swore he could see blood pool around his feet and create a trail after him when he walked away. The blood was like a long cape that Nico wore.

Sexuality doesn't matter, they were all just humans, all skin and bone, all flesh and blood, all demigods. All of them have read stories were their parents had slept with the same gender. Why was there anything wrong when it came to demigods? Gods know that some of the greatest demigods were gay too.

There was a knock on the big door, Leo went to open and found Jason. Jason, and the other from the seven prophecy were the only ones who talked to Leo and Nico. Jason, Percy and Frank (when he was on a vacation from Camp Jupiter) would have guy nights were they watched movies and ate way too much popcorn. Piper would come and just talk with them, talk until not only their hearts bled but their ears too. Annabeth would drop by, drawing, talking, laughing, brightening the room in a way that only she could. When Hazel was there she would tell them stories, bedtime stories, as if they were five years old and she was their mother. No one acted as if they were weird, no one acted as if the camp hated the two of them.

Hated them for something Leo couldn't understand. Just being gay couldn't create this problem.

"Sup." Leo greeted. "Nico's asleep but you can come on in if you want."

Jason smiled but shook his head. "I just want to know if you told him yet."

"Nah, I'm too much of a wuss and you know it." Leo said playfully hitting Jason's shoulder. "Come on man it's not like I can just say I love him."

"Sure you can." Jason exclaimed. "He told Percy."

"First of all he is much braver than me, second of all he wasn't in love with him at the moment, third of all we are all a little bit gay for the son of Poseidon. Fourth of all I am just Leo." He gestured to himself, showing of the oil smeared shirt, the torn trousers, his dirty feet (he didn't believe in shoes anymore and since Nico swept the floor as soon as he dropped something it wasn't any danger on stepping on something hurtful).

"Bravery comes from the heart." Jason jabbed his finger into Leo's chest.

"To bad it's to broken." Leo scoffed.

"What happened with Calypso-"

"Wasn't my fault. The gods were angry and just happened to take it out on me and my lady. Killing Festus was just a plus on the whole killing Calypso deal. Truly it wasn't like it was my fault since it wasn't like it was I who saved her from that island." Leo made it sound sarcastic even though all he wanted was to lay down on the ground and cry.

"The gods are cruel." Thunder could be heard over them. "But I think they regret it."

"It was two years ago, not like they are coming to apologize now. Not like they can bring her back from the dead."

"Did you love her like you love Nico?"

"No." he breathed out. "Not even a little. I had a huge crush on Calypso, but I think she just loved me because I was there to save the day. She didn't really know me. I love Nico. I love him with every fiber of my body, with every breath I take. When he doesn't look I stare at him, I feel like if I look away I'm going to lose him."

"Tell him." Jason encouraged him like he had done many times before.

"He doesn't love me, it would break my heart. For real this time."

"Piper is sure man, I asked her like a thousand times. She can sense the love." Jason said. "It's your move."

"Ain't nobody here playing chess, mate." Leo joked. "Now shoo, you are interrupting me."

"From what? Building yet another toy figurines from that game Mythomagic? Building us into action figures?"

"Okay now Superman, back down. Go to your Louis Lane and leave me alone to do my awesome business that is entirely my own. Business that is, that is amazing. You can't find anything else this great since it is built by I the super-sized McShizzel, the scrawny god of building. Have you heard that scrawny is the new sizzling hot?"

Jason's raised his hands in defeat. "Catch you later Repair boy."

As Jason and his blond hair disappeared back into the woods Leo closed the door. Closed the door, took three deep breathes, then returned to his work desk.

Jason knew him too well. The figurines laid in a pile, the action figures too. What else was he supposed to build? No one needed weapons anymore, no one needed his ship, no one needed him.

He heard Nico snooze softly from the couch and couldn't resist it anymore. He laid down with Nico on the small space. Wrapped his arms around the cold boy and fell asleep.

"I love you." Nico said only it came out as a rough good morning.

"So damn much." Leo replied but it sounded as a grunt.

Nico was used too Leo sleeping with him on the couch. It had happened so many times now that he didn't even question it anymore.

"It's in the middle of the night, we should head back." Nico said, he looked lost sitting there, bed head, rumpled clothes, tired face.

"I'll follow you to your door." Leo nodded and got up, his legs ached and one of his arms had fallen asleep. It was because Nico had laid on it.

"Just get me to camp and stay away from the harpies." Nico grunted, which was his way of laughing when he was tired.

"No, a gentleman always follows his date to the door." Leo joked and held out his hand for Nico to take.

As usual Nico ignored him, got up from the couch and walked to the door, walking past Leo, ignoring him but not in the way all the others did.

"I think out of the two of us I'm the gentleman." Nico said proudly when Leo caught up.

"Why?"

"I say please and thank you way more than you. And I hold the door open for you all the time, you just let go of it and let it hit me in the face." Nico tried to sound mad but it didn't work. "And let's face it I'm just much politer than you."

"Hell no!" Leo snapped his fingers.

"Hell yeah." Nico responded with a huge smile. "Besides isn't it me who usually walk you to your door?"

"You are always saying that I'll have further to walk and that I will get caught if you aren't looking out for me! I can walk myself." He crossed his arms over his chest like a stubborn toddler.

"You can't win so dream on." Nico laughed, their hands brushed each other they ignored it.

Leo wanted nothing else than to grab his hand and pull him closer to him. Leo needed Nico so much that he might cry. Even if no one said it Nico loved him, maybe just as a friend, but that kind of love... it was special. No one had made Leo feel loved since Festus. No one. Nico, even though as a son of Hades, brought more light into Leo's life than a child of Apollo. Just by a glance from Nico Leo's heart soared.

The woods were quiet except for the sounds of monsters. Twigs snapping, leaves rustling, the two of them breathing hard.

Their hands kept brushing, as did their arms. Neither moved away. Not until the woods cleared out and the camp grew in front of their eyes. A camp that was asleep. That was when Nico took a step further away from Leo, creating miles in between their hearts.

Leo followed him to the door, cabin 13 was so dark that if it weren't for the green torches you wouldn't find it in the night. Nico moved to continue down to where Leo's cabin was but Leo wouldn't budge.

"Come on, the harpies will find us." Nico urged on.

"I..." Leo swallowed hard. "Tonight I'm walking you to your door, come back here and go inside like a good date."

"We aren't dating." Nico laughed, a laugh that warmed Leo up, that made him want to laugh too, a laugh that was so bright and light that it made the camp a little brighter in the night glow.

"Maybe I want us to." Leo admitted under his breath not daring to say it any louder.

"No you don't."

"Why?" he asked chocked.

"The camp hates me, no one talks to me, I'm an outcast again, the only reason I haven't left for Camp Jupiter is because of you. I can't seem to go without you." Nico said slowly as if the words tried to stay in his throat but he forced them out. "I'm hated here Leo. I'm a son of Hades, I won't bring you anything but death."

"Do you know why I make those figurines?" Nico shook his head so Leo continued, "It's because it was your favorite game and you said to Frank that you wanted to play it with him sometime."

"You did those for me?"

"Yeah. I'm here because I love you." The I love you came out as I love you, it was hidden in another sentence, it was out in the open, breathing air for the first time. It was liberating and scary. "If you want to move to Camp Jupiter to be closer to your sister and Reyna, then please take me with you."

"You would leave the only camp you know?" disbelief all over Nico's beautiful face.

"I don't want anything else, you are the best thing I have had in forever. When I was with Calypso it didn't feel as true as this. I don't know about you Neeks but I really really really love you."

"I love you too." Nico said, said to quickly, the words tumbling out of his mouth like a tornado, like he couldn't get them out fast enough.

"So we're dating?" Leo asked uncertain.

"You can bet your ass we are." Then Nico grabbed Leo's shirt bringing him in for their very first kiss. A kiss that tasted of a day old fonzies, and pizza. It tasted of vanilla and chocolate cake. It tasted like Nico.

Nico's lips were soft, much softer than Leo expected. As soft as his hair was, silky. Leo couldn't get enough. Somehow they gotten inside Nico's cabin and laid on the bed. Leo wanted nothing else than to be there with Nico. He had finally done it. He had told Nico that he loved him. He would never love anyone as much as he loved the son of Hades.

"I would marry you if I could." He whispered to Nico between kisses.

"Take me on a couple of dates and maybe I will say yes." Nico laughed.

"Gosh you are so perfect!" Leo hugged him so hard that he was afraid he would crack Nico's ribs but when Nico returned the hug wasn't scared anymore. "I love you."

"I love you too."
