A little Halloween one shot for you guys. Warning since there is blood and spooky things! No song because why? Enjoy!

"Tell me again why we are going to a cabin in the middle of the woods this close to Halloween" Nico had his arms crossed as he stared his roommate down.
   "My buddy asked if I wanted to tag along but it would've have been awkward to just fifth wheel you know so you have to come with me!"
   "Your buddy Jason, the football player with a cheerleader girlfriend?" Nico asked not amused at all.
   "Yeah well Leo is a cheerleader but he isn't exactly a girl, and his stepsister will come and bring her girlfriend." He sighed, "please Neeks, pretty please with a cherry on top?"
   "Fine Percy but if we die then I'm killing you" Nico went to his wardrobe and started packing, after all Percy had asked him the last minute and they had to meet up with the others in ten minutes.
   "I'll kill me if we die don't worry," Percy smiled like a little kid, his sea green eyes sparkled with glee and his huge grin couldn't turn into a frown.
   Nico snorted and threw his bag at Percy. They would be gone over the weekend but it felt like forever. And Nico shouldn't have said yes since he has a test on Monday. A test that will decide 35% of the final grade. He couldn't fail it but he also knew that there would be no studying.
   Together the two roommates made their way out of the dorm room and out onto the school grounds. The leaves were on the ground, their color yellow. The wind was chilly and Nico was mad that he had forgotten his mittens. They were dorky, and bright yellow, and they looked like pikachu. But you could take the head of and just have fingerless yellow mittens with weird hoods. Nico had gotten them from his sister before moving to campus.
   "Bro!" Percy yelled as he saw Jason and his car.
   "My man!" Jason retorted with a grin, "it'll just be the three of us, Leo wanted to ride with Pipes, he say she got better candy and music."
   "Sorry bro, boyfriends you know, can't live with them can't live without them"
   "So you two dating?" Jason asked as he stuffed their bags in the back.
    "Shotgun." Nico mumbled and entered the car before he could hear what Percy answered to the dating question.
   Now since Percy was this really out going, intimate, funny guy, he could often be seen holding Nico's hand or hugging him. Nico had gotten used to it and didn't think about it anymore but the two boys were just roommates.  Nothing more. Or well Nico wanted more, he had wanted more the second Percy entered their room announcing that they were roommates.
   Not that Nico would ever confess that, they were friends who held hands, sure sometimes it was hard not to see something as a date... but he was sure that Percy didn't like him. He knew he liked boys, Percy had announced that they were roommates and that he was bi. So he didn't exactly hide it from Nico.
   "Penny for your thoughts," Percy said wrapping his arms around Nico's neck in a weird hug that was a bit uncomfortable due to the car seat between them but Nico didn't want to say anything.
   "Who owns the cabin?"
   "My father's brother's wife's cousin," Jason smiled, "distant relative but he was happy to rent it out, he said that it would be perfect to have just a chill time in."
   "So it's just us, Leo and then Annabeth and Piper?" Nico continued.
   "Yeah, you got the football freak, the cheerleader, the geek, the swimmer, the virgin, and the basket case." Jason smiled.
   "No one in our group is a virgin" Percy said from the backseat.
   Jason cleared his throat and pointed to Nico before starting the car.
   "What how can you know that and not me? I'm the roommate, I'm the best friend!" Percy sounded so offended as they drove off from the school.
   "Nico and Piper are tight bro, she knows everything about him since they are childhood friends. And Piper told Leo since they're siblings, and Leo told me since we are dating" Jason smirked.
   "And me? Piper is dating Annie and me and Annie are childhood friends!" Percy protested.
   "Percy?" Nico asked gripping Percy's hand since they were still awkwardly hugging, "I'm a virgin I'm sorry that you had to hear it this way. I had been planning on asking you out to dinner and ease you into it but... Jason beat me to it I'm sorry."
   "Joker," Percy snorted leaning back in his seat and buckling up.
   "What did you expect me to say?" Nico laughed.
   "That you would have moaned it to him just before he-" Nico laid a hand over Jason's mouth cutting him off.
   "There are children here okay!" Nico said removing his hand.
   "Who's the kid?"
   "I am, Percy is" Nico said feeling a kick through the seat meaning that Percy had kneed it.
   "True can't deny," Jason nodded.
  "Hey I am an adult. I am very... um.. grown up and responsible... and uh... sophisticated." Percy struggled with his words leaving the other two in the car two laugh.
"Whatever you say Perce" Nico said comforting.
"I don't like the two of you I'm gonna sleep!" Percy proclaimed shifting into a more comfortable position and then closed his eyes.
A couple of seconds later he was snoring.
"How can sleep through those snores?" Jason was a good driver, but a really good driver would have put on music and let everyone in the car be.
"They're cute, makes me relax knowing that he is there breathing" Nico confessed, "reminds me that there aren't any monsters in the room."
"You like him?" Jason asked.
"Of course I do we are friends."
"No, like him as more than a friend." Jason specified.
"I think I'm gonna sleep too, I was up all night studying for a test I had this morning." Nico stated leaning against the car window.

Nico woke up to somebody carrying him. A pair of strong arms holding him against a hard chest. The person smelt of beaches and sea.
   Percy Jackson was carrying him, Nico di Angelo, bridal style.
   A squeal escaped his lips when he fully realized what was happening. Percy chuckled low in his throat but he didn't drop him.
   "Jason wanted to wake you up but I thought that would be mean so I offered to carry you the last bit. You see we have to walk for twenty minutes because we can't reach the cabin with a car." Percy spread his fingers out under Nico's shoulder blade. "I know I know, we're gonna die and then you are going to murder me."
   "So how long until we get there?" Nico asked, he hadn't looked around, his eyes laid on Percy and how amazing he looked with the halo of woods and sky over him.
   "And... about... now." Between the pauses he took a couple of long steps before standing still. "We have arrived my prince, want me to carry you over the threshold too?"
   "No thank you," Nico said and pushed at Percy's chest to make him release him. 
   His foot hurt a little when he thumped to the ground but he didn't let Percy see it. Instead he walked in as if nothing had happened, he walked straight to the couch where Piper sat.
  "Hola chica." Piper greeted him with a kiss on the cheek that he wiped away.
   "The car ride was okay?" He asked.
   "Leo ate almost all the candy and he chose the music the entire way! It was a drag," Piper sighed dramatically.
   "Where are the devils?" Jason asked as he started unpacking the food, candy, drinks, and everything he had brought with him.
   "Annie is sleeping because she had a headache. And Leo...." Piper thought for a minute, "he told me he wanted to explore so he is out in the woods."
   "It's sad that he will die first... not" Nico snorted and gave a meaningful glance at Percy that sat by the fireplace and tried to light it up.
   "You have a list already?" Percy asked looking at him.
   "Sure, Leo, Piper, Jason, Annie, and I don't know if you die before me or if I die before you. Haven't decided that."
   "Why that order?" Piper looked questionably at him.
   "Leo because he is out there alone plus he is Hispanic. Scary movies loves to kill of the minorities. Then you because you're smart and also a minority. Then Jason because he's the football player. Annie because she is the blonde." Nico explained.
   "And you and Percy last because you are the couple of the story?" Piper teased.
   "Shut up!" Nico pushed Piper off the couch.
   "It's true though," Jason agreed, "you two are the love story since everybody will want the two of you to get together."
   "How will we all die?" Percy asked ignoring the other two.
   "Surprise?" Nico shrugged, "I don't know I don't write scary movies."
   "Supernatural or just serial killer?" Piper asked to no one in particular.
   "Supernatural." Percy stated as if he was sure of it. "Believe me this place is scary but no serial killer would be out here roaming, it'll be supernatural."
   "Ghost?" Nico hated the fact that he sounded excited.
   "Vampires?" Piper asked in the same tone.
   "Spirits?" Jason offered.
   "Ghost and spirits are the same thing." Nico said staring at Jason as if he was stupid.
   "Guess we will see," Percy shrugged, "just listen for Leo's screams..."
   A shrieking scream echoed around the living room, the windows shook by the wind and then the door handle rattled as if someone tried to break in. Piper took out a Swiss Army knife she always carried in her back pocket. Jason brought up his fists ready to punch someone. Percy simply leaned back, he didn't act as scared as the rest of them. That made Nico suspicious.
   "Come in come in whoever you are," Nico sing songed to the door.
   "Shut up I don't want to die!" Piper said aiming the knife towards him.
   A scream came again this time from one of the rooms in the back of the cabin. The lights went out and a door creaked open.
   Piper crushed Nico's hand, he heard Jason whimper, and then he felt a warm hand on his thigh, Percy.
   The lights flickered on and they could see someone standing by the window.
   Jason screamed and ran to the kitchen. Piper ran to the door with an angry shout. And Percy just sat on the floor by Nico's feet, his hand on Nico's thigh.
   Piper dragged someone in by the ear, "fuck you Valdez!"
   "Sorry I just had to after I heard you guys talk." Leo said not looking sorry at all.
  "Annie baby you okay?" Piper shouted to the back rooms where the second shout had come from.
    A sleepy Annabeth appeared in the living room, her shirt was loose and her shorts were open, and her blonde hair was up in a messy ponytail.
  "I'm fine, Leo just made my headache worse, you got any aspirin?"
   The last part was for Jason who had pulled on a more courageous face.
   "Yeah," he gave her the pills and a glass of water.
   "Honey would you like to lay next to me until I fall asleep again?" Annabeth asked Piper with a sweet voice.
   Piper nodded and took her girlfriend's hand before walking to the bedroom with her.
   "I'm starving," Leo said.
   "Lets make some food and then play a game or something." Percy said, he was still pale but now he stood up and went to the kitchen, leaving a cold place on Nico's thigh.

"I'm not playing truth or dare with you guys," Nico complained.
"Yes you are, I made you pasta this is the least you can do!" Leo answered nodding towards Nico's bowl of macaroni and cheese.
"I'll do the dishes," Nico smiled but handed the empty coke bottle to Jason. "Should I get the girls?"
"No let them sleep," Jason said and spun the bottle.
They all took a spoon full as the bottle went around and around. Percy looked a little bored but he seemed happy with his food, he had wrapped a blue blanket around him too making him look like an old Russian lady. Leo are so fast that it was just a matter of time until he choked. Jason ate slowly, his eyes fixed on the bottle. Since Nico wasn't in the game he ate in his own pace and looked at all the players. It was much more fun observing then playing.
The bottle landed on Leo, "Truth or dare?" Jason asked.
"Dare!" Leo screamed happily.
"Take your shirt off," Jason smirked.
Leo obliged before spinning the bottle that now landed on Percy.
"Truth," he said before Leo had the chance to ask.
"Do you loooooooove Nico?" Leo asked in an obnoxious tone.
"You like like him don't you?" Jason asked in a serious tone that took away the comedy of the sentence.
"I-I..." Percy stammered and looked with panic at Nico.
Nico simply put down his bowl on the table, covered his ears, shut his eyes, and started to hum to himself. He didn't want to know the answer, he didn't want to hear how much Percy liked him as a friend.
Jason poked him when it was free to uncover. The both of them sat on the sofa while Percy and Leo had an armchair each.
Percy quickly spun the bottle before shrinking back into his blue blanket.
The bottle wouldn't stop spinning and Leo who was the most impatient person ever stopped it with his hand. Only problem was that it landed on Nico. Nico who didn't play. Percy went to spin again but Leo stopped him.
"I'll do the dishes if you only take this one spin." Leo said so seriously that Nico would sooner believe that he was a changeling than Leo Valdez himself.
"Fine, dare, lets get this over with."
"Kiss Percy, on the lips, for twenty seconds." Leo said without giving Percy the opportunity to open his mouth.
"Hey I was supposed to come up with the dare," Percy pouted.
"Leo you-"
"Jason sush!" Leo said, "kiss for twenty seconds and then you neither have to play or do the dishes."
Nico stood up, walked to Percy that opened up his blanket to allow Nico to straddle his waist. Nico sank down easily as if they had done this for the past three years, then he placed his hands on Percy's jaw and kissed him. Nico had kissed many boys before, they had all been educational and fun and new... kissing Percy was the same, new lips that was soft and parted for Nico. Educational since Nico loved to see the way Percy moved underneath him, his hands on Nico's lower back, his long bangs tickling Nico's nose. Fun because Nico had wanted to do this for so long, his heart was beating hard, he had a smile on his lips, a blush on his cheeks. After the first ten seconds he stopped counting and just kissed. Percy was the best kisser so far, Ethan back in seventh grade had been good too but he had had no idea what to do with his tongue, Percy was a champion.
And that is when it happened. A loud crash as if someone broke a window. A girl screamed, a loud thud, something broke possibly a chair or something made of wood. Another scream this one a little different, Nico knew that scream, that was Piper.
Crashing, screaming, and then the lights went off again. Nico heard a door open and close and how someone cried.
Nico scrambled of off Percy's lap and ran to the bedroom that was Annabeth's and Piper's. He couldn't think straight, the kiss still lingered on his lips, the screaming echoed in his ears, he wanted to throw up. When he saw Piper leaning against a door that someone was banging on, he skidded to a halt. Piper had tears streaming down her cheeks, her hand was against her upper arm and she was bleeding, both from the arm and from a cut on her forehead.
"Piper?" He whispered.
"Annie is dead." Piper said with a calm voice, when things became to much she usually went calm. "This thing came through the window and starting hitting us and cutting. Annabeth pushed me towards the door and that's when that... thing stabbed her in the chest before... before..."
Nico didn't move. What was he supposed to do, she was the only thing separating the monster from them.
"Annie is dead" she said again.
The banging stopped. The others came. Nico stood rooted to the floor he wanted to hug her. Jason said something but Nico didn't hear it, it was as if he was underwater. Annabeth was dead, they were getting killed, he was right. Don't ever go to cabins in the woods during halloween who is that stupid? He took a step forward, he had to comfort Piper. Another step, he could soon hug her. He took her hand in his, another step forward, he was directly in front of her. He hugged her tightly to himself, both of them leaning against the closed bedroom door that hid all the things Nico didn't want to see. He just hugged her.
Nico felt a prick on his chest, warm liquid on his shoulder, he heard Percy gasp, he heard Piper whisper something to him. At first he couldn't hear the words, then he heard it, she had said run. He let go of Piper, the prick disappeared and as he looked down at his chest he saw blood. He looked at Piper, her chest was full of blood, she had blood spilling from her lips. Piper smiled at him.
"It's okay Neeks, I'll be with Annie now."
"No! No! No!" Nico screamed as she slid down the door.
Percy wrapped his arms around Nico's waist to carry him away from Piper. "Nico we need to go."
"I told you, I told you." Nico cried, his best friend in the whole world was gone. The only one who cared about him when he was younger was gone. He was alone. All alone without her. He hadn't been without her since he was four.
"I know Nico," Percy said as he carried him into the living room.
"You guys know that we can't go out there." Leo sounded scared, Leo was never scared at least not so anybody could see. "Whatever killed the girls is out there."
"Leo you where out there before dinner what did you see?" Percy asked, he had let go of Nico for just a second so that he could hug Nico to his chest.
"Trees and bugs," Leo shrugged, "nothing worth noticing."
"Did Piper-"
Nico cried so loudly when he heard her name. How could Jason say it so effortless. Hadn't their hearts fallen apart too?
"She said it was a thing." Percy said.
"We can run to the car in ten minutes," Jason suggested, "better than to be sitting ducks."
   "Have you seen horror movies?" Leo questioned his boyfriend.
    "Ten minutes to a car is nothing when all of us are capable of running."
    They heard a door open and how a body dragged against the floor. Someone was opening the bedroom door. Everybody ran outside, Nico didn't so much run as being dragged by Percy.
   The woods were dark, trees high. When Percy had carried him to the cabin it had been light and sun and magical. Now less than three hours later it was dark, brooding and scary. The woods hid the sun, birds didn't sing.
   The path was smaller than Nico expected. They had to run on a line to make sure that no one ran into a tree or stumbled over stones. Since Jason, Percy, and Leo were all sporty they ran so fast that Nico had a hard time keeping up. Nico really regretted not taking part in gym more while he was at school, or joined the swimming team now at university.
   Nico forgot time as the ran, the woods where all the same, just a blur of green and brown. Nico wondered about the thing chasing them. Piper hadn't really explained it, it could be anything really. What's to say that it couldn't run faster then them?
   Just as he thought that he stumbled. Percy let go off his hand but halted to help him up. Jason screamed their names from up ahead and Leo had stopped to see what had happened.
   Percy helped Nico up, checked so that nothing was broken or hurt before asking if he could run again.
   Nico glanced at Leo, dear old Leo who fiddled with his shirt. Leo who tried to hurry them on. Leo who now had vines wrapped around his torso pulling him in different directions. His lips turned blue, his hands were pinned against his sides but he tried to break free.
   "Leo!"
   The vines shifted and he disappeared into the crowns of the trees.
   "Come on Nico!" Percy screamed and forced him to move again. Running past the place where Leo had been taken.
   "Percy this is hopeless!"
   "I'm not letting you die right after our first kiss!"
   Jason was nowhere to be seen but Percy knew the way to the car. An idiot would have known it since there literally was no other path in this stupid forest.
    "It's just around the bend over there!" Percy yelled to Nico.
   A huge rock was the cause of the bend. Big forest, big rock, a killer behind/in front/somewhere, and Jason was still unheard for.
    Nico pressed on, his breath was coming short, to many things had happened on such a short time span. If he had been alone he would still be with Piper.
   They rounded the bend and there where the cars. And there was Jason. He laid on the hood of the car, an iron pipe through his heart and into the car. His hands still moved when they arrived. When they got closer they saw that he was dead, blood staining his shirt, his stupid Clark Kent glasses were crooked. His blond hair pushed back and showed off a dent in his skull. The killer had probably bashed his head in with a stone before pinning him like this to the car.
   "We have to get back to the cabin, Jason's car is..." Nico stared at the iron pipe, how straight it was, how skilled the killer must have been, "Piper's car keys are in her jack pocket."
   "Come on then!"
   They ran back and somehow it didn't feel like ten minutes. Even though Nico's legs hurt and he had trouble breathing it felt like they arrived faster to the cabin then it had done when they ran to the cars.
   Percy closed and locked the door, Nico ran to the fireplace where Piper had left her stupid military jacket.
   Just as he found the keys there was a knock on the door. Percy paled and stared at him.
   "Don't open and stay away from the windows" Nico instructed him.
   "Nico I'm-" Percy didn't finish because he had unlocked the door and opened it.

Outside stood all of them. All of their friends. Alive. Blood still covered their clothes, Leo's lips were blue, but all of them smiled.
   "Trick or treat," Piper laughed.
   Nico stopped breathing. They were okay. They were all okay. He... were they freaking kidding him?
   He threw a pillow at Piper.
   "How fucking dare you! I thought you died! What was that thing?!" Nico screamed, he was furious and relieved and scared and calm and he wanted to cry and sleep.
   "Well I texted the others in the car about what you had told me," Percy started, he wasn't pale and he was actually smiling. "So Piper and Annie fixed up a plan, Leo made fake blood and little pouches that we had on to make it seem like we were really hurt."
   "While you slept in the car Percy went on YouTube to get all the sound effects," Jason said stepping into the cabin.
   "And when I asked Piper to come to the bedroom we put on make up on her to make it seem as if she was hurt," Annabeth took over, all of them in the cabin again.
   "The vines were just ropes that I had rigged up to carry me away from sight, I put them on while the two of you weren't looking. And the blue lips are lipstick," Leo said proudly.
   "I almost died!" Nico screamed in rage, "you can't trick your friend into believing that everybody that he cared about died!"
   Piper hugged him tightly, there was a prick in his chest... on it... wait a minute. He pushed her away and saw the tip of a knife embedded in her shirt, the tip was towards Nico as if someone had run a knife straight through her.
   "Cool huh? I broke a knife and fixed it so that I could die!" Piper said in triumph. "Leo helped me a little so that I could just push a button to make the 'knife' come through."
   "Why?" Nico asked.
    "First it was just for Halloween," Percy said. "The truth or dare wasn't a part of it though, we just had to entertain you so you would leave Annie and Piper on their own."
    "And then?"
   "Well we all know that you have a huge crush on Percy, and from the truth and dare we got to know that Percy feels the same. So we made a few changes, you see Percy was suppose to die too but we thought that would be rude."
   "What Leo is saying is true. And after you stumbled in the woods I texted everyone to let them know that I was the last death, you two would go back to the cabin and then we would tell you the truth."
   Nico sat down on the sofa.
   "I'm sorry Neeks I just wanted to scare you a little and make you say I told you so about the killings. We went a little over board." Percy said sitting down next to him.
   Nico got up and went to the bedrooms. He glanced into the girls room but it looked in order not as if someone was brutally murdered. He continued to his own room where he fell asleep from sheer exhaustion.

When he woke up he was in his bedroom in his dorm. Percy slept in his own bed. Soft snores echoed trough their room.
   "Percy?" Nico went over to his bed and woke him up.
   "What is it?"
   "I had a nightmare, I just needed to see that you were okay." Nico said laying down next to Percy.
   "I told you we shouldn't have seen that horror movie before bed," Percy said pulling Nico under the covers.
   "It sucked."
   "Well that's Halloween for you." Percy snorted, " can I go back to sleep now?"
   "Yeah go ahead."
   "Love you goodnight,"
   "Wait you love me?" Nico asked.
   "Before the horror movie I asked if you wanted to be my boyfriend, you said yes, kissed me, then convinced me it would be a brilliant idea to see that movie."
   "Oh... oh right," Nico said remembering what had happened before he fell asleep. "Goodnight Perce."
   "Night."
