Twelve
A/N: haven't done a double update in awhile :)
Olivia's POV:
Watching as every freshmen danced and talked with their friends as the electronic music practically blared throughout the entire house, I guess you can say I was annoyed.
Instead of helping out with Malia or Liam, I was forced to make sure nobody broke anything and had to keep an eye on Phoebe to make sure she wasn't doing something she would regret.
I walk inside Lydia's kitchen in time to see two guys toss a plate to each other back in forth.
"What are you, five?" I scold which causes them both to stop. "This isn't a frisbee, it's a plate that normal people use for their food. Now, get lost!" I snatch the plate from the guy's hand and put it back inside the cabinet as they quickly exited the kitchen.
"Come on Liv, you need to live a little." Phoebe gave a teasing smile as she handed me a cup filled with wine. "Get it? Liv and live?"
She was about to take a sip of her cup but I snatch it from her. "You're not drinking on my watch, Annie." I dump the wine in the sink.
"Oh, relax. I've tried it before." She scoffed. "And it's Phoebe, I've told you this."
A older man casually lugs a large keg with a dolly and places it in front of me. "Okay..." I look around and luckily, Lydia already had stormed into the kitchen as well.
"I didn't order a keg of beer." She immediately says to the man. "Especially not domestic."
"Somebody ordered it." He looks around at the people. "Are you trying to tell me nobody here wants to drink?"
I crossed my arms with annoyance. "Are you trying to test my patience?"
"Who put this here!" Lydia exclaimed, grabbing the wine glass that was placed on top of her laptop and slams it shut. "This laptop is two-thousand dollars and—oh," Her eyes land on Garrett who had been holding one of the wine bottles that was almost empty. "that bottle of wine is four-hundred."
She snatches the wine from him and looks back to the man. "How much?" She asked, referring to the keg of beer.
He hands her the bill and her eyebrows immediately furrow. "What's this extra hundred dollars?"
"I call that the 'Yes, you do look twenty-one to me' surcharge." He winked to Phoebe and I immediately push her behind me.
"She's sixteen, asshole." I glare and he innocently shrugged.
"Let me get you some cash." Lydia huffed and looks to me. "Can you come with me to look upstairs?"
I nod but turn to Phoebe. "Stay out of trouble. Please." I say and she rolled her eyes as she exited the kitchen.
I follow behind Lydia as we push through the crowd of freshmen, quickly going up the stairs that led to another hallway.
"I think there should be some leftover cash from the last time I stayed here in the room down the hall." She points to the last room. "Check there and we'll meet in ten minutes?"
"Got it." I say before we split up. I walk passed the other rooms until I reach the one at the end of the hallway, noticing how it was already opened by an inch.
I cautiously open the door and see Allison sitting at the end of the bed with her elbows on her knees as she rested her head on her hand.
"Hey," I call out, causing her to jump from her spot. "you doing okay?"
She turned to give a small smile. "Why wouldn't I be?"
I shut the door behind me, which causes the sound of the music to be faint. "Well for one thing, you're not downstairs." I say and walk further inside the room. "And two, I've known you long enough to know when you want to get away from everyone else." I take a seat next to her on the bed, but she scoots away a bit from me. "I don't blame you though. The music sucks."
"Not a fan of electronic?"
"I'd rather be in a coma again than having to listen to the same beat over and over." I joke, but notice she didn't laugh at my sentence. "That was stupid. I shouldn't have said that."
"It's fine." She fiddled with her fingers. "The good thing is that you're better now."
"Honestly," I trail. "sometimes I feel like I'm missing a part of myself."
"It's okay to feel like that, Olivia." She looks up, giving me a small smile. "It's just...a lot to take in to see that you're actually here."
"I'm still processing that too," I nervously scratch the back of my neck. "I can't believe I missed two months and I don't remember any of it."
She looks down at her hands. "Why didn't you just tell me about your vision? I could've helped you figure it out, you know."
My eyes widen slightly. "How did you know that?"
"Your mom told me after we left the loft."
"Well I guess whatever my solution was, it worked." I give a small smile but she held her stern expression.
"That was your solution. We're supposed to be a team, but instead you made a reckless decision where I...where you got yourself hurt!" She exclaimed. "Why didn't I get a say on it?"
"Allison, please understand why I kept it a secret to—"
"To protect me, I know, but what was the difference of almost telling Kira instead of me?" She looks up with tears brimming her eyes. "Did you think this was something to keep to yourself? You could've told me as soon as you saw it!"
"Of course I wanted to tell you but I didn't want the future to mess up." I raise my voice, matching her angered tone. "And you know that since the beginning, all I've ever wanted was to make sure the people I loved and care for were safe and alive. That was my main concern and it's obvious that whatever I did worked so what's the big deal about it now?"
"See that, that's why I'm pissed. You thought you were the only one that was capable enough to face this alone, but Olivia, that's why you have our friends! That's why we were in a relationship! Communication was one of the main things for a relationship to work but you did the complete opposite." She wiped her tears from her eyes. "That night when Deaton said you...were waking up, I didn't know what to think. Just seeing you, it felt like I was reliving that pain over and over again where I couldn't do anything to prevent you from getting hurt."
I try to wrap my arms around her but she scooted further away from me, letting out another pained sob. Seeing that she was afraid to touch me, my heart sank.
"You're right." I whisper, not knowing what else I could say. "I should've told you from the start. I was afraid of the consequences but we could've figured it out together...I'm sorry." I hesitantly look to her and see she was looking forward to avoid my eyes. "Be honest with me. What does this mean for us?"
"I don't know." She wiped her eyes with her sleeve before she cleared here throat. "I can't do this. Right now at least."
I feel tears begin to brim but I force myself to not let them fall. "You want to breakup?" I softly ask and she gives a small nod. "Why?"
"I just...I just need time to process everything. Jumping back to a relationship with you, it'll be hard for the both of us to adjust back to how it was before."
"I lost two months worth of memory and you're making it seem like I died!" I exclaimed.
"Y-You almost did!" She stuttered. "You were put into a coma after a fight with the Nogitsune and we all thought you weren't going to wake up. I had to deal with the thought of you possibly not ever waking up."
"Don't you think this is another way of fate giving us a second chance, Allison? I know I haven't said it to you yet," I whisper and tried to reach for her hand but she quickly retracted it. "but I love you."
She tensed at my words. "I...I don't feel the same way." She finally looks to meet my saddened expression. "Please understand that."
One of my worst fears was the thought of losing Allison and while thankfully this wasn't something that led to death, it still hurt that this was a breakup. Especially facing the cold truth that she didn't love me back.
I quickly wipe my eyes and stand up from my spot. "I-I should go."
"Olivia, wait—" I hear Allison call out but I was already out the door and was instantly being met with the electronic music that still blared downstairs. I slam the door behind me and once I turn around, my gaze lands on Phoebe curiously looking around the hallway until she locked eyes with me.
She innocently rose her hands. "Look, I'm just trying to find the bathroom. I wasn't—" She cuts herself off by blocking my path as I tried to walk around her. "Hey...were you crying?"
I wipe my eyes. "Just drop it."
"Olivia, come on. Is this about that girl Dad was telling me about? Allison, right? We're sisters, you can—" She tried to reach for my hand but I yank it away.
"Stop saying we're sisters! We'll never be sisters so stop trying so hard, alright?" I yell, letting out all of the pent up anger. "Just go home!"
She gives a small nod. "Well when you want to talk, I'll be here." She took a step away from me. "Don't worry about giving me a ride back. I caught a ride with some friends." She mumbled before quickly going down the stairs.
Remembering that I was supposed to meet with Lydia, I quickly walk to the other hallway she had went to. Each door I would open would only be an empty spare bedroom until I reached the final door that was at the end of the hallway.
I push open the last door and I'm met with Kira worriedly watching a tear-stained Lydia as she stared at a record player in front of her.
I cautiously shut the door behind us, cutting the music from outside as if nothing was even playing at all. "Lydia," I hesitantly call out. "what's wrong?"
"What do you hear?" Kira inquired as she took a step closer to the banshee.
"The key," She breathed out softly. "the key to break the code."
I immediately sprint out of the room and head down the stairs, not even caring if I rudely pushed pass the crowd of freshmen teens that were surprisingly still here.
I snatch the laptop from the counter-top and race back upstairs, ignoring the slight soreness in my legs I had from when I had to run up the stairs in the hospital.
I place the laptop in front of her and she immediately drags the tab that still had the code that contained various letters, numbers, and some sort of symbols in dozens of rows.
Once it finished loading, the word KEYWORD: appears along with a box next to it so we could type in the correct password to unlock whatever the hell this meant.
"So, what's the key?" I asked as the two of us crowded around her.
Lydia stayed silent, but began to type a single letter that spelled out not just word.
A name.
The moment she clicked enter, the lines filled with various numbers and letters disappear for a moment until each row starts to fill with names along with numbers next to it. Some of these names included Sean's deceased family, names I've never even heard of, names of my friends.
But one name in particular caught my eye.
SEAN WALCOTT 250
DAVID WALCOTT 250
MICHAEL WALCOTT 250
CHRISTINA WALCOTT 250
LYDIA MARTIN 20
SCOTT MCCALL 25
DEMARCO MONTANA 250
DEREK HALE 15
CARRIE HUDSON 500
KAYLEEN BETTCHER 250
KIRA YUKIMURA 6
Mine.
OLIVIA FLORES 23
"What the hell..." I nervously breathe out, feeling my nerves start to increase. "Why is my name on there with a number?"
"Mine too. Lydia, what is this?" Kira asked, never taking her eyes away from the laptop screen.
"It's a list of supernaturals in Beacon Hills. It's a deadpool." Lydia crossed her arms. "And we're all on it."
