Olivia's POV:

"These are your math notes?" I ask Lydia as Kira and I read the various numbers and letters mixed together in the document she shared with me from my laptop.

"No wonder Malia's failing." Allison muttered, peering her head to get a better look at Lydia's laptop.

The four of us were sharing a table in the classroom due to the fact we were 'working on our science project' our teacher assigned to us.

"Some of them are my notes. The rest, I think, might actually be a code." Lydia says and I scroll down the document, watching as dozens of rows filled with numbers and letters appear.

"But you don't remember writing it?" Kira tilted her head in confusion.

"Not in the slightest," She looks up from the laptop to look at the three of us. "but considering my drawing of a tree led us to the Nemeton, I should probably figure out what it means before it tries to kill us."

"Maybe it's like the enigma code the Allies used." Kira suggested. "Remember my dad was a World War II buff? And my mom was, well...in it."

"When I was in France, my dad was telling me about the past Argent families around the 1860s using some sort of code called the Vigenère Cipher." Allison highlights some of the rows. "Maybe it could be that."

Lydia nods her head in agreement. "I've heard of that before. It encrypts the alphabetic text with different types of ciphers, depending on the letters of a keyword."

"How do you crack it?" I question, not knowing what the hell they were talking about.

She shrugged. "With a key."

A key, coincidentally, dangles in front of Lydia's face which causes me to turn from my seat, meeting a stern look of Lydia's mom as she eyed her daughter.

"Remember the rules. No more than seven people allowed in the lake house." She looked around cautiously. "Stay out of the wine." She whispered before returning to her normal tone. "And if anything gets broken, it's getting added to your credit card debt."

She shrugged. "Fine." Lydia reaches for the keys, but her mom pulls the keys away before she could.

"And lock up the basement. From all the scratch marks I found on the walls, it looked like a pack of wild animals got down there."

Lydia nods with an awkward smile and her mom drops the keys in her hands before walking away. I slowly turn to the three with my eyebrows furrowed.

"Scratches?" I hesitantly question.

"Malia." Allison, Kira, and Lydia mutter in unison.

"Gotcha."

"I'm not sharing my basement."

"Actually, it's my basement." Lydia crossed her arms. "And my mom noticed how you tore it up last time."

I lean against the bus behind us. "Aren't the restraints supposed to, you know, hold you down so you wouldn't mess up the place?" I glance at her nails.

"All right, she's still learning." Stiles protested as he gestured to Malia.

"But, we're going to use the boathouse for Liam." Scott dug his hands in his pockets. "It's got support beams. We can chain him to one of them."

"Will it hold him?" Allison questioned. "In Mexico, you ripped the chains off when you were getting electrocuted."

"And how do we get him out to the lake house if he doesn't trust us?" Kira inquired, practically voicing my exact thought.

"I say if it keeps him from murdering someone, we just chloroform the little bastard and throw him in the lake." Stiles remarked as he did the actions of putting chloroform over Liam's mouth.

Malia shot up her hand. "I'm in."

I roll my eyes in annoyance. "Why do your ideas always involve hurting someone?"

"Olivia's right. We're not killing or kidnapping him." Scott emphasized, earning a huff to escape from Stiles' lips.

"Then let's be smarter." Lydia uncrossed her arms. "We tell him there's a party and invite him."

Allison furrowed her eyebrows. "You're going to ask out a freshman?"

"No, I'm done with teenage boys." She pursed her lips. "But, if we're playing a trick on someone, we'll have to use the trickster."

We all turn to Kira who had her eyes wide with shock. "Who, me?" She quickly shakes her head. "No way. Not me."

"Yes, you."

Allison nods in agreement. "It would make sense."

"And you're awkward which makes it ten times funnier." I tease, but Lydia smacked my arm. "Hey!"

"Don't listen to her." Lydia sends a glare to me but then turns back to Kira. "You know what they call a female fox? A vixen." She smirked.

"Me?" Kira asked again.

"Flip your hair to make him pay attention to you, maybe bat your eyes a little or a wink," Allison says, moving her head to the side a bit which sends a couple of strands to go behind her. "then casually strut like you own the place. Once you feel comfortable enough, it'll feel natural and all the guys or girls will stare."

I blink a couple of times at Allison trying to show Kira which made my heart swoon. She definitely was right.

I look over to Malia and Stiles, noticing how they looked over her qualities with a small nod of approval.

"You can do it, Kira. Be a vixen." Lydia urged.

Kira gave an awkward smile with a small shrug of hesitance.

"I just talked to Kira and she said they're two minutes away and everything's fine." Scott immediately says as he walked inside and shut the door behind him.

I glance worriedly to our friends before looking back at Scott. "About that..." I trail off, but Stiles gets off the couch.

"I asked around about Liam. I know why he got kicked out of Devenford Prep, his last school." He says and digs his hand in his pocket to grab his phone.

Scott sighs and puts his helmet on the shelf. "This is going to be bad, isn't it?"

"He kind of got into it with one of his teachers and...well, see for yourself." Stiles hands him the picture of a wrecked car with the words 'This is your fault!' spray-painted on the car doors. "That's his teacher's car after he took a crowbar to it."

"You gave Liam, who has serious anger issues, the bite that turns him into a werewolf!" I exclaim.

Two beams of light fill in the living room, but shut off a couple of seconds later, showing Kira step out of the car with Liam.

Allison worriedly glances at me. "What do we do?"

"What could we do? The kid is a ticking time bomb if we piss him off." Stiles gestured to the door. "This is why we should've used chloroform and—"

"Shut up, Stiles." Scott and I say in unison with a glare.

I tug on Allison's arm. "Well if he lashes out once he sees us, you're staying behind me." I whisper, pulling her to stand behind me but she yanks her arm away.

"I don't need you to defend me. I can protect myself." She deadpanned harshly which causes my eyes to slightly widen.

Before I could utter another word, the door swings open with Liam being the first to step inside as well as Kira. However, the expression on his face drops once he locks eyes with us standing in a line.

I do a simple wave, but he turns around only to be met with Kira shutting the door behind them. "Sorry," She sheepishly smiled at him.

He turns back to face us. "What the hell is this?"

"Think of it like an intervention." Stiles spoke first. "You have a problem, Liam."

Scott takes a step forward. "And we're the only ones that can help."

"How can you help me?" Liam gestured to Scott. "Are you all like him?"

I awkwardly smile. "Not exactly."

"What does that mean?"

Scott rose his hand up. "From what you saw, I'm a werewolf."

"Okay," Liam trailed and looks to Malia. "you?"

Malia picked at her nails with a bored expression. "Werecoyote."

Liam points to Lydia. "And you?"

"Banshee," She responds, but the look of confusion becomes apparent on his expression. "harbinger of death."

He looks to Allison and I. "What about you two?"

Allison shrugged. "A hunter, I guess."

"From what I learned recently, a Phoenix." I answer after then lift my hand to show a small flame.

He turns around to Kira. "You?"

"Kitsune. It's this supernatural fox that can somewhat manipulate electricity." She explained with a small shrug. "I'm still learning."

He turns back and points to Stiles. "What are you?"

"Uh, for a little while I was possessed by an evil spirit." He cleared his throat then clasped his hands. "It was very evil."

"And what are you now?"

"Better...?" Stiles turns his head to us, giving us a look for help.

Liam's eyes trail to the duffel bag filled with chains for Malia. "Are those for me?"

"No," Malia scoffed and looked away from her nails. "they're for me." Her eyes flash blue for a moment until they return back to her normal brown orbs.

His eyes widen. "How did you do that?"

"You'll learn," Scott tried to assure. "but first, you need to get through the full moon."

"The moon's already out." He clenched his jaw.

"And you're starting to feel something, aren't you?"

His expression twisted into anger. "I feel like I'm surrounded by a bunch of psychotic nut jobs," He takes a step back as his fury-filled eyes looked at each of us. "You guys are out of your freaking minds! I don't know how you did that eye thing and I don't care! I'm walking out the door right now and if any of you try to stop me, I swear to god I'm gonna—"

Liam instantly covers his ears with a pained expression as he let out an agonizing cry.

"Liam?" I worriedly say, hesitating whether or not to go by his side. "What's wrong?"

"You don't hear that?" He panted and luckily Scott crouches down to Liam's side.

Headlights began to peer through the blinds of the windows and I hear Lydia sigh next to me. "Did you tell someone about this?"

"My friend, Mason." He grunted as Kira walked over to the windows. "You said it was a party."

"And who did Mason invite?" Allison warily asked.

Kira turns to us with a nervous filled expression. "Everyone."

Liam groans out again, his claws protruding from his fingertips, slowly dragging his nails on the wooden floors.

"The floors!" Lydia scolded and takes a couple of steps towards him. "Get him off the floors!" She pauses in her steps once Liam lets out a low growl.

"We need to get him to the boathouse," Scott exclaimed as him and Kira pulled Liam from the floor. "now!"

We watch as the trio quickly heads towards the back door until a grunt comes from Malia which snaps my head towards her.

"Stiles."

"Yeah?" Instantly Malia growls at him which causes all of us to jump at the sound. "Hey...okay, basement. Now. Now." Stiles frantically says and grabs the duffel bag from the table.

"What am I supposed to do with the hordes gathering outside the door?" Lydia scoffed.

"Lydia," Stiles huffed. "who throws the best parties in Beacon Hills?"

"What?" Her eyebrows raise as she threw her hands a bit. "Me, obviously."

"Okay, then throw a party." Stiles gestured to the door before helping Malia to the basement.

"He might need my help." Allison says, grabbing her dagger from the shelf.

"Yeah, I should help Scott with—" I try to say, but Lydia grabbed mine and Allison's arms.

"Nope, you two are staying here with me." Lydia interrupted. "I'm not doing this alone with a bunch of freshmen."

"Lydia—"

"End of discussion." She cuts off Allison and drags us to the front door.

She released our arms and turns the door handle to pull it open. The crowd, that practically surrounded the front yard, staring at us in confusion, most likely confused at the fact it seemed like it was only three of us.

"Hey, uh—I'm Mason." The one in the front spoke up. "Are we in the right place?"

"For the party?" Garrett adds.

Lydia grimaced. "Absolutely."

The crowd cheers at her response and we move to the side for them to come inside, someone immediately blaring electronic music.

However, my eyes widen in shock as soon as I recognized one of the last girls.

"Phoebe? What the hell are you doing here?"

She furrowed her eyebrows in confusion as she entered the house. "I should ask you the same thing. You told our parents that you were studying at Lydia's place." She looked around the place before turning to face me. "This doesn't look like studying."

"I swear to god, you are gonna catch a ride with whoever brought you here and you're gonna go home—" I tightly grab her arm.

"Or what? You're gonna tell them that I snuck out to a party that you coincidentally were at?" She countered back and I loosen my grip, knowing that she was right in this case. "That's what I thought."

She rips her arm away and continued to walk further in the house. I was about to follow after but I feel a hand on my wrist. "Worry about her later. We have to make sure none of these people break anything."

I hummed as I fake smiled at each person that came inside. "This is gonna be a long night."
