Definition of forever; for all future time; for always, or continually. This can pertain to as ‘This is going to take forever’ when your doing your math homework but does it also pertain to love? Can it pertain to love?

Love is an intense feeling of deep affection for someone or something. That is exactly how Keith felt for his beloved boyfriend, Keith. This man was even on the verge of proposing but he knew it was too soon and it would almost seem . . . too suspicious.

Keith watched his boyfriends chest as he slept. He was always fearful of the thought of Lance leaving him. He loved the smaller boy too much to lose him. He knew he wouldn’t be able to survive the feeling of heartbreak.

Lance shifted in his sleep and snuggled into Keith’s chest. Keith smiled and pulled him closer. Before long sleep had overtaken Keith.

The next day was quiet and calm. No Galra attacking, no planets that needed saving. So the paladins considered this as a day to relax.

Keith held Lance close to his chest playing with his hair.

Well, this day was considered relaxing until the castle shook and Allura yelled for the paladins to get their armor on and get to their lions.

Keith hated departing his boyfriend and reluctantly went to his lion. Of course the Galra had to find them now. He grumbled to himself but he made sure to keep his lion close to Lance’s.

He was just glad that before long the Galra ships were taken down, or so he thought.

Lance’s eyes widened as he suddenly saw a beam shot at Keith’s lion. He quickly flew his lion in the way and took the shot. A painful scream erupted from the intercoms and Keith felt as if his worst nightmare had came to life. Lance was hurt. Before his mind could react Keith’s body was out of his lions and inside of Lance’s. He noticed the gravity was off due to the kion shutting down from the hit.

Keith quickly flew to Lance and grabbed the boy gently. Nothing physically.

“Coran! Get a healing pod ready!” he yells and quickly pulled Lance to his lion.

It seemed like an eternity before Keith had gotten Lance inside the healing pod. For days he paced in front of it awaiting his boyfriend, but Lance never came out. He just stayed lifeless, and still.

Keith had broken down. There was an ache in his heart. The longing for lance got worse and the emptiness in his arms left him cold.

“L-Lance . . . baby . . . please . . .” Keith whispered. “I-I need you . . . more than anything, you have to come back!” He sobs out. “You have too! I-I can’t go on without you! Damn it I should of told you what I am! I-I should’ve told you the truth!” He punched the wall as tears spilled down his pale cheeks.

Keith weakly looked over at his pale boyfriend behind the blue tinted glass.

“W-we promised we’d be there for each other for forever . . . t-that we would love each other for f-forever . . .” he whispers, longing to touch Lance’s smooth skin.
