How does it feel to fall in love with a woman who's always on the run? Miraculous!

Ruhana Khanna is a daredevil. She's always doing dangerous stuff, no matter what her parents said, what my parents said-- and I love that attitude of hers.

No it isn't as if she's rude to elders-- it's just that she's that passionate about her dreams.

Well, despite everything, I never regretted falling in love with her. And I never will--

Three years ago, I met her at a charity event. I came to know that she runs an NGO. Her father is a rich business man but she didn't want to inherit any of the businesses. She's humble, and generous. Everything about her made me fall in love with her. I kept sponsoring her charity events using the charity funds of our office... and that drew us close.

It's a miracle that she loves me in return, that we found love together.

I'm happy, more than happy to have her.

But sometimes it's a pain... when I can't be close to her... like now... her birthday is close... and she's on an expedition.

Scaling Mount Everest isn't an easy feat, but I'm sure my love can pull it off.

I put away my documents as my phone beeps. I'm a businessman after all, and these things at the office keeps me busy. Yet I forget all the tiredness when I see her face--

Ruhana is on video call with me--

She smiles and waves... I'm glad she looks healthy, happy--

I'm happy to see her too... I just wish I can hold her in her arms.

But no, I won't say it... I won't get in the way of her dreams. After all I promised her, I'd be her support.

"Missed me?" she asks with a wink.

I decided to lie, "na uh. Work keeps me busy."

She pouts.

I laugh and say, "hey you know how it is, I miss you Ruu... har pal."

She beams... and I grin.

I'm actually a little sad, but I can't upset her-- I don't want her to feel bad for my sake--

"Can you scale the summit and come to me sooner--"

Ruhana smiles looking a little sad.

Oh in the end, I did say it-- the thing that's in my heart. I sigh--

"Hey, it's not like I--"

But she cuts me off with a sweet smile. " I miss you too, Vineet."

Hearing my name from her makes me smile in return.

"It will take me another two months. Maybe we can't celebrate my birthday together-- and if the weather turns worse-- I may not contact you--"

I shake it off with a smile. "Puri kayanat hume milaane ki saazish kar rahi hai Ruhana, aur ek tum..."

I try to mimic a little, putting on my best impersonation of Shah Rukh Khan and she laughs.

I join in and together we laugh for a good while. Then we share how things are going for us, what we ate, what we did and everything--

I blow a kiss to her as the call ends-- she kisses the screen--

Haye, she makes me blush!

The call ends as I make a vow to myself--

I will meet her! And we will celebrate her birthday!

Her birthday is a month from now-- and I want to surprise her!!

Will this work? Well scaling Everest isn't an easy task. My love has been working super hard. I'm a regular at Gym and these exercises are wearing me down..

It's been a week since I joined a group of mountaineers in Mumbai... Now we have travelled to Uttarakhand where real training has begun.

I work a sweat as Ruhana calls me.

She instantly recognizes I'm not in my office.

I laugh saying I'm on a trip...

Just a little... and then I'll be with you...

But the question is... can I scale Everest?! The idea of being on top of the world with her, seal her lips with a kiss is tempting--

I've only intended to meet her in base camp but now I want to head to the summit!

Base camp--

I've reached base camp when I receive Mum's call--

Uh oh. They are mad! Well, neither Ruhana's parents, nor mine like the way we lead our lives... still...

"How dare you Vineet?" Mum yells at me, "ek to wo ladki pagal hai, ab tum bhi! You lied that you were on a business trip but I came to know it! Why would you--"

Is it hard? I shrug, "because I love her mum."

"What about our business?"

"Mum sometimes it's necessary to live rather than to earn--- aap kya chahti hai? Kabhi zindgi jiyi aapne?"

My mum falls silent... and the call ends.

I look at the surroundings. It's night time other mountaineers are huddled around a large bonfire-- there are many batches-- now where do I find Ruhana?

I take a stroll around... and I find a girl looking at the stars far from the crowd...

There's my love...

I wish to surprise her with an embrace from behind but-- all I say is--

"Taaron me kisi ko dhundhne ki koshish kar rahi ho?"

She lets out a deep sigh as if to say a yes. And then she turns around abruptly. The faint light from the stars, and the burning bonfire in the distance illuminates her face as she smiles, her eyes wide--

"Vineet!!?? Tum!"

She squeals before jumping into my arms... I hold her close and spin her around---

"Beautiful nature, beautiful you... aur kya chahiye mujhe!" I gaze at the stars before gently lowering her to the ground and briefly kissing her on the lips-- "Happy birthday, my love."

She beams-- we both check our watches. It's exactly 0.00 AM. A beautiful moment for both of us--

She seems like she still can't believe I'm here. She grabs me by my jacket and pulls me down for another kiss. This one's a little passionate, deep... I sigh as I tighten my hold on her.

"Vineet tum yaha?" she asks again as we part.

"I wanted to be with you."

She smiles and hugs me tight again. "But base camp me! It's not easy..."

I hug her tightly and whisper-- "love is never easy, babe."

She laughs.

"Sorry, cake na laya..."

She laughs harder at my apology.... "Cake nai to kya hua, mera cup cake hai ider!"

"Huh?"

Now I'm confused.

"Cupcake? Kidher? Mujhe bhi khana..."

Ruhana laughs harder catching her stomach... "arey mera cupcake tum ho! Aise thodi na kisi ko khane k liye dungi main!"

I finally understand what she means and smile shyly.

She makes me blush sometimes. Not fair...

It's very chilly... the other mountaineers have left to sleep in their tents.

"Wanna dance?" I ask her--

She shivers a little but nods.

The cold wind blows like a low musical melody, the crackle of the fire adds that extra romantic effect-- and the mountains in the distance are the witness to our dance.

I put my arms around her waist... and she locks her arms around my neck. We sway while staying in each other's arms...

And when the dance ends... I pull out a chocolate for her--

We share the sweet treat and then share a kiss.

"I love you Vineet!! I don't want to be apart from you!" she says as the kiss ends

"I won't leave you by yourself from now on, love." I grin at her, "ab se tum jaha, main waha..."

Being here made me realize what I'm missing! I'll accompany her from now on... wherever she goes, I'll follow.

She laughs feeling shy... and hugs me tight.

I whisper in her ear, my desire to her... 'I want to scale Everest.'

She doesn't make fun of me. She's surprised but only nods.

I know I'm a complete beginner-- but I wanna try...

"I'll be with you... together I'm sure we can do it," she says.

I lift her up in my arms.. And carry her to my tent...

"What are you doing?" she shrieks. "This isn't home.. We can't..."

Is she having naughty thoughts? I only intend to share my tent with her-- and what a beautiful scenery, even the tents shine like some celestial objects here in the mountains

I laugh as I kiss her brow-- "no naughty stuff dear, not when we're on expedition.."

She turns red but punches me in the shoulder.

I laugh. And we spend the night chatting, and cuddling together in my tent. It's a rather simple celebration, yet it's fulfilled with our love.
