Night Time

"So, there it is. Laboratory 5." Said Alex as he stood in front of the gate alongside Uni who had wanted to come with him.

"Most the things used here should still be there. Though abandoned for a year, since Noire didn't really care for it, no order was made so it was abandoned and left alone and untouched." She said.

"I assume the cameras are still on?"

"Yep. Though, they aren't linked to Noire's computer. Trust me I've gone through it. Even so, avoid the cameras just to be safe."

Alex nodded as he placed his hands on the wall opening it as Uni went HDD and simply flew over it.

Alex knew that since the place was abandoned, all doors were automatically locked for good so Alex needed to find a vent or window to open.

Thankfully he did find a vent as Black Sister flew up and opened it as she went back down.

"Get on my shoulders. I'll gently lift you up so you can get in."

He nodded and gently jumped on top of Black Sister's shoulders as she flew up until Alex was able to crawl into the vent as he went deeper in as Black Sister stayed outside on guard.

"Damn. This vent is so narrow. If I were normal sized then Uni would've have to enter and the plan would be ruined. It really is a good thing I'm so short."

Alex stopped for a moment of realization.

"What the hell am I even saying!? It's a bad thing that I'm short!

A Few Minutes Later

Alex had found the end of the vent as he kicked the exit open and flipped out of the vent and onto the floor below.

"So far so good." He said.

The place was eerily quiet so it meant Alex for sure was alone, or, at least he hoped he was.

He didn't wanna deal with anyone bad guys who could secretly live here.

He was currently in a dimly lit room and opened the door.

He entered a big area that had tons of pillars and lights.

"Woah. What the hell?" Said Alex as he noticed a giant transmutation circle with an area of it covered in blood.

He went to the blood and touched it.

"Cold. Barely wet. This blood is nearing drying point. Must've been here for almost a year. Maybe 8 to 10 months."

Alex now was even more curious.

Why was there a giant transmutation circle, and, why was there blood on it?

He also noticed a pedestal in the middle of the room as Alex got sly smirk.

"This is probably where they had transmuted the Philosopher's Stone."

Then, a voice came.

"Yes. Your correct. I don't know who you are kid but you sure figured out a lot just by looking at a transmutation circle."

The figure emerged from the shadows.

Alex chuckled.

"I'm just that good pal. Who the heck are you?"

"I'm the one in charge of guarding this place. For the moment must call me Number 48. And believe me I'm not your pal. My orders are to dispose of anyone who wanders in here, poking his nose where it doesn't belong. Try not to take it personally boy." 48 Said.

"Don't worry I won't." Alex said as he clapped his hands together and slid his right hand over his left wrist which extended a hidden metal plate into a blade.

(Alex doesn't have a metal left arm so pretend the blade is part of a hidden metal plate on his left wrist.)

"You try not to take it personally when this boy kicks your ass!" Alex said ready for a fight.

"Hm. Your an Alchemist are you?" 48 said as he immediately dashed at Alex as he was in shock as they stood face to face.

"Alright then. Let's see what you got." Said 48.

He slashed in an upward diagonal with Alex ducking beneath it which 48 followed with a downward slash as it clashed with Alex's wrist blade.

"You got a metal wrist blade huh? No problem. My sword can cut metal as well as flesh!"

48 got a horizontal slash as collided with the wrist blade again as Alex tried to keep it still.

Alex pushed the sword as both went had each other missing their slashes until Alex got a kick to 48's gut causing him to stumble back, however, Alex knew it was odd as he gained a smirk.

"My my what's this? I'm gonna go off a limb and say your hollow inside right?" Alex asked.

"Your quite the perceptive one " 48 said.

"I could tell from the sound. Lady Nepgear from Planeptune always has me test our her robotic suits."

"So I assume you know how I ended up this way?"

"Yeah I do and it makes me sick to think that people here are idiotic to bond a human soul to a suit of armor."

"Perhaps I should introduce myself again. 48 was the number I was assigned when I was death row. Back when I still had a living body, I was better known as Slicer. I was a mass murderer you see."

"So, you were slated for execution. Tell me something then. This laboratory, were they using condemned prisoners like you to make Philosopher Stones here?"

"That, I can't tell you. It isn't in my area. They simply recognized my skills, gave me this body, and made me a trusting guard dog."

"Interesting. I'm sure they gave you a seal too, to serve as a medium between soul and armor?"

"Yes. I have a blood seal. This is it right here." Said Slicer as he removed the cloth around his head and lifted his face mask to reveal his blood seal.

"If you destroy this, then the fight is yours." Said Slicer.

"That's awfully considerate of you to show me your weak spot."

"I like to give myself an extra challenge during a fight now and then."

"As long as your in such a giving mood, then, how about this? Just let me go."

Slicer put his mask back down.

"Nice try kid. What kind of mass murderer would let his prey get away so easily?" Said Slicer gripping his sword. Now, let's fight."

Slicer got his sword ready as Alex got his wrist blade prepared.

Location: Lastation Basilicom

"Hm. It isn't this quiet late a night." Said Noire who was already suspicious.

Alex and Uni had been gone for nearly an hour as Noire knew something was up.

She left her office and looked around the living room.

"Those two still aren't back? Something is definitely happening." She said.

Noire stood at the balcony and used her shares to locate Uni. And, once she did, well, Noire was NOT happy.

"Uni's at the 5th Laboratory!? Then that means!"

Noire got visibly more frustrated.

"Alex that damn idiot! That knucklehead just HAD to go and bring Uni along!"

Noire immediate transformed as Black Heart quickly flew to the 5th Laboratory.

Location: 5th Laboratory

Alex and Slicer dashed at each other as they clashed.

They went back and forth trading clashes constantly, though, Alex knew that he had limited stamina.

'Crap. I gotta finish this fast.' He thought as Slicer kicked him in the gut causing him to tumble to the ground.

Slicer immediately went for a fast down slash but Alex swiftly rolled back to avoid it though as soon as he landed, Slicer got a quick up slash causing Alex to jump back again, though, he was slightly late, as blood gushed out of his left shoulder.

'Shit. He got one on me!'

Alex backed up into a wall and ducked down to avoid a diagonal slash but Slicer was quick and followed it with a straight slash to the right side of Alex's head causing another cut over his right eye, but, that was all as Alex stopped it with the wrist blade as he pushed him off and rolled away avoiding a downward stab.

'Crap. Nearly bit the dust back there.'

Alex was out of breathe as he sat on the floor as Slicer looked at him.

"What a cute little monkey."

"What!? WHO'RE YOU CALLING LITTLE!?" Alex shouted at him as Slicer laughed.

"It's been too long since I've had prey that's worth hunting." He said pulling his sword out.

"Though, your very tired. As this rate, you won't last much longer."

Alex simply laughed at Slicer's words.

"Is that what you think?" He asked as he stood up. "Well then, go ahead and prove it me!" He said with a smile.

"You really are a persistent one aren't you?! That just makes me wanna end it more." Slicer said.

Alex smirked and looked to the side. "Uni! Do it now!"

Slicer was surprised and looked to the side.

'Checkmate!'

Alex dashed at Slicer and jumped at him as his wrist blade managed to remove Slicer's head off it's body.

"That was dirty!" Said Slicer.

"There's no such thing as dirty in a fight!"

Both the head and body fell as Alex retracted his wrist blade and walked over to the head.

"What's the matter? You still haven't destroyed the blood seal I so kindly pointed out yet. Are you going to or not?"

Alex simply picked up the head by the ponytail it had.

"There's something I need to ask you about."

"The Philosopher's Stone?"

"Yes. Tell me everything you know about it."

"Sorry, but, I can't."

Alex just grew a smirk.

"Hey now. Tell me. I did beat you at your own game."

"That's where your wrong. I'm not beaten yet."

Alex tensed up as Slicer's body was ready to slash him.

He was too late as the body slashed Alex clean right to the left side of his torso as he held it in pain to stop excessive blood spill.

"What the? How!?"

"I forgot to mention about the killer Slicer."

Then, Slicer's body began to talk, as it was a different voice.

"The mass murderers were all cause by a pair of brothers."

"An independent head and body!? Now that's a dirty trick!"

"Now now, weren't you the one that said there's no such thing as dirty in a fight?" Said Slicer's head.

"Are you ready? Round two's about to begin short stuff."

"Don't call me short!"

Alex was about to bring back the wrist blade however Slicer's body ran at it quickly and prevented Alex from doing that.

"No way! I ain't gonna let you perform Alchemy on my watch!"

Slicer's body began to slash at Alex quick and loosely making it easy for Alex to dodge, yet, Alex was almost out.

'Dammit! I've lost too much blood. I'm starting to feel dizzy!'

Alex left an opening as Slicer's body hit Alex in the chest with the bottom of the sword handle causing Alex to get launched back to a pillar as he sat with his back directly against it.

'Dammit! Not good. Not good!' He thought seeing Slicer's body get close.

"Die!" Slicer's body said ready to kill Alex.

Then, in a snap second, Alex clapped his hands together as he slammed his right hand onto the killer causing it to launch off it as Alex dashed as his right hand hit Slicer's body right in the center as it broke in half

"What!?" Said Slicer's head in shock.

Alex then sat back down.

"How about that!? You like that quick thinking!?"

"Argh! Your brat what'd you do to me!?" Said Slicer's now split in half body as it squirmed.

"Hey stop! That's freaky!" Alex said backing up.

"Brother!" Shouted Slicer's top half body to its head.

"I hate to admit it, but, we lost."

"You guys aren't gonna tell me that your really three brothers right?" Alex said poking the lower half of Slicer's body.

"No no." Casually said Slicer's top half body.

"Come on boy you've won. Hurry up and destroy us." Said Slicer's body but Alex rejected.

"No. I'm not gonna kill another person." He said.

"With bodies like these, are we really even people?"

"I consider you both people whether your in a physical body or not. Your souls are still alive and running and that's all that matters. Your still human and I will not take the life of another person."

Slicer's head simply laughed at this.

"Brother?" Asked Slicer's top half body.

"Me and my brother have been cheating, killing, and stealing for as long as we could remember. And now that we're in this suit and body, we're being treated like humans for the first time. Don't you see the irony?"

Alex was shocked at Slicer's words.

"For that boy, I'll give you a parting gift. I'll tell you everything. I'll tell you who made the stone. And ordered us to guard this place."

Shockingly, those would end up being Slicer's last words as his blood deal was stabbed by a sharp needle as his head was split into two.

"W-What?" Said a shocked Alex.

"My my. Now that was a close call." Said Lust coming into view.

Her long nail like claws retracted Slicer's head all the way back.

"Number 48. You know better than to talk about things that don't concern you."

Afet Lust said that, another person came into view beside her.

Homunculus: Envy

"Well well! What's the Flame Pipsqueak doing here?" Said Envy.

Alex could only stare at the two in confusion.

"My my. What a troublesome boy. Tell me. How'd you find out about this place?" Asked Lust as he split Slicer's head in half killing one of the brother's souls.

Slicer's body, the other brother, called out to his head only for his blood seal to get stabbed by Envy.

"Quit your pathetic blubbering you idiot!" Said Envy as he continuously stabbed the blood seal over SME over again as Alex saw in shock.

"You were trying to kill one of our most important sacrifices! Do you understand me! You could've messed up the entire plan! What would we have dome then!? Huh!?"

Slicer's body had went limp, as Envy had killed the other brother's soul.

Envy just smirked as he and Lust both walked to the bloodied and exhausted Alex as he staggered to get up.

He breathed heavily yet managed to talk.

"Tell me who you people are. What plan are you taking about? What do you mean when you say important sacrifice!?"

Envy then got up directly in Alex's face.

"Oh my. The pipsqueaks is ready to go. I think I might've made it angry." Mockingly said Envy.

Ales just gave Envy a tired grin.

"Don't call me pipsqueak again."

"Then what would you prefer? A pipsqueak?"

Alex immediately tried to kick Envy as he simply moved away in response.

"Woah! He know there's no need to fight here. Someone might get hurt ya know."

Alex simply clapped his hands together ready to transmute.

"This is a fight you started! So come on!"

Right before anything could happen, Alex's left arm went limp.

Alex looked at it with a shocked face.

'I-It's numb!?' Thought Alex.

"Technical difficulties." Said List as Envy cheered.

"Lucky me!" He said patting Alex on the head as he immediately gave Alex a hard knee to the gut as Alex coughed blood.

Before he could fall, Envy held him by his head.

"Your fortunate your arm went numb. If not for that you wouldn't be getting off so easily."

Envy dropped Alex as his limp body fell to the floor.

He just had enough consciousness to hear Lust speak.

"Listen to me well boy. Don't always forget this. Always remember we allowed you to live."

Alex grunted painfully on the floor as he slowly lost consciousness.

"We can't have him poking around this place again. It's to dangerous. It'll have to go. Blow it up." Said Lust as those were the last things Alex heard before passing out.

Outside The Laboratory

"Uni!"

"N-Noire!?"

Black Heart had finally caught up to Black Sister, however, before they could exchange a conversation, all of a sudden, the 5th Laboratory suddenly blew up as Black Heart and Sister both shielded themselves from the rubble.

"Come on Uni! We gotta go!"

"We can't! Alex is still in there!"

"Wait what!?"

As soon as they said that, Envy emerged from the destruction. "Ahah! The CPU's of Lastation! I got a gift for you!"

"Alex!"

Envy placed Alex on the ground as Black Heart gently held up his arms.

"His life's not in danger though he has lost a lot of blood. He's gonna need immediate treatment. Also, make sure to keep him in check Black Heart. We wouldn't want a valuable resource go and take these crazy risks." Said Envy.

"Hey wait! You should go too!" Black Heart said, but, Envy was gone.

"He, just vanished." Said Black Sister.

The 5th Laboratory collapsed more as Black Heart but the bloody and unconscious Alex onto her back as both CPU's flew away to safety.
